Alien Isolation PC Performance thread

Took the chance with my 920, 6GB RAM and 570GTX.

Probably around 40fps @1080p Max. Better than my weak ass PS4 at least.

nice. can you post a screen of the graphical options available for the graphics whore in ALL of us :)

FOV slider is inverted, so lower is higher.

Damn, looks like a great pc port. I'm in the clear with my 280x, but I don't have the same CPU as they have, I have a 4670k, but I still expect to reach more than 60fps @ 1080p. That's all I need for now. Game looks dripping with atmosphere, hopefully it'll deliver. A few more little hours. :D

Ugh does anyone know why (not related to AI) when in crossfire with V Sync on the audio stutters, I have tried turning off the ULPS to no luck :(

Also - anyway to downsample this one?

Uuuu SMAA T2x, nice.

Good job Creative Assembly, it seems that You nailed tech. Good lighting, awesome particle lighting, fully integrated AA.

During cutscenes I have a problem where the screen will go completely black except for the top row of pixels. Alt tabbing out fixes the issue and I haven't encountered it during gameplay yet.

Has anybody encountered something like this before?

Other options are FXAA and SMAA T1x

cheers buddy. im guessing with all settings tanked on my OC MSI GTX970 i can enjoy 50fps avg at 4K. im happy with that as the game is not meant to be played running about far cry 3 style lol. whoop!

No. Oddly enough though, it did start at 3840x2160 (my highest custom resolution) in a 1920x1080 window.

It also appears to not remember my fullscreen setting and always starts windowed.

Bummer. My TV is only capable of up to 1.5x downsampling. Better than nothing I suppose. Need DX11 GeDoSaTo stat!

Been playing about 15 minutes. Everything running great at 60 FPS with everything on max settings. Specs are:

Intel Core I7 2600K
Nvidia GTX 670 4 GB
8 GB RAM
Win 7
SSD

Wow, now i wonder if its not spelling error. Awesome if not, its really new tech, hell Crytek didnt even ship it to SDK.

Is this game very CPU bound? The benchmarks don't seem like it. I'm still rocking a 560 ti and a 1090T X6 at 1680 x 1050. I should be able to run highish settings, right?

I've played about an hour and can confirm it runs like a dream and looks great.

I've got:
i7-2600k at 4.5
GTX 680
8GB RAM
Win 7

I have everything maxed out and am running it at 1440p and it is a butter smooth 60fps.

i5 2500k - Stock
8GB Ram
GTX 780 Superclocked

Everything maxed out (except chromatic aberration but c'mon), resolution is 2560x1600. Only went below 60 FPS climbing one ladder but I think it was a disguised bit of loading - not really a problem since there was nothing to do other than just keep going forward at the time.

The game looks great but there are a couple of jaggies even downsampled - I think it's just a by-product of the very sharp rim-lighting on the corners of surfaces.

Overall feel took some getting used to, the mouse is a litte... draggy. But after I realized I wouldn't be twitch-shooting things and in need of super precise control, I actually liked the feeling of heaviness.

Is there any conceivable way I might be able to play this on my potato? I've got a E8500 dualcore and a HD5870 lol :(

Edit: I also have 4gB's of ram and my GPU's got 1gB of vram. CPU is clocked at 3.16ghz

Averaging 100+ FPS. Maxed settings at 1080P. Game is very nice looking. Loving the atmosphere.

GTX 780 SC 3GB
I5 4670K
16GB Memory
SSD

Finally got from work.
1 minute left to unlock. I think I will just start to see how it looks and runs, quit, watch Alien, then start playing.

This is amazing. Game looks great for this kind of performance.

Yeah, everything maxed and it runs beautifully. However the intro cutscene (guy talking to Amanda) was weirdly choppy - as if it was 30fps, which it probably was and what a shame.
Gameplay itself is buttery smooth 60 and it is basically dream come true game for an Alien fan like me.

Played the first 30 mins or so,
i7-4770k at 4.4
295X2
16GB RAM
Win 8.1
Ultra settings at 1080p.

FPS between 250 and 330 so far 0_o

i5 3570k
670 4 gb
8 jiggawhats of RAM

Game holds 60 fps at 1440p until I get grabbed by the xenomorph. For some reason, it dropped down to 24 fps while it kills me.

I'll probably just play it at 1080p if it drops like that every time I get killed. While it doesn't effect gameplay, I'd rather have it be consistently 60.

I have to say I really can't notice a difference between the AA options in this game.

SMAA T2X has a super obvious ghosting effect. Early on in the game (like 30 min in) you follow a dude around a bit and it looked dreadful. I switched over to T1X at that point.

Anyone know how to bypass the opening stuff that is there each time you start the game (20th century fox, Creative Assembly, and AMD)?

The only demanding thing in this game is the volumetric lighting. Whenever there's a bunch of that coliding and splitting through a bunch of objects like a netted fence, it hits the performance.

Cinematic kill scenes!

Is there a reason you aren't using 2x of the AA?

No, to be honest I just pushed it up as far right as it could go. I did notice the FOV is reversed which is weird. Let me see what it runs at with 2X

I just tried 2X and I see almost no changes in FPS. Ill have to play for a bit to see which looks better but the post above me may have already cleared that up.

Is anyone else finding the fmv sequences a little choppy? They are running at 60fps but they just don't look right to me. Rest of the game is fine, just the fmv.

Also is SMAA T1X better than T2X?

Edit: disabling in game vsync and forcing the driver seems to have fixed the choppy fmv. Good stuff.
