Assassin's Creed "Parity": Unity is 900p/30fps on both PS4 & Xbox One

MS paying for parity/third party timed exclusives like Tomb Raider makes me think Spencer is no different than his douchey comments near the xb1 reveal and it's why I have no interest in an XB1 unless everyone involved with it's creation are fired.

Someone should shop 'Reduced GPU Power Draw Mode, Only On PlayStation!' onto one of those boxes. Ubisoft, looking out for our power bills and hardware longevity ;_;

I think it's more the idea that they want to make sure they have all their console versions the same so that each version shouldn't be sold more than the other, even if that means lowering the quality of one over the other.

That makes no sense though. It won't affect XB sales at all, and you're just losing PS4 sales now by doing this. One doesn't or shouldn't cannibalize the other's sales. Give both platforms the best you can and owners of those platforms will buy the product. If not, this is what you get.

XB1 looking "worse"; PS4 not having forced party. Same thing.

People don't like forced parity. I hope now you understand.

I do understand, I just think it's kinda bullshit that people are preventing themselves from enjoying games because of essentially console wars.

Why are there always people that come in these threads, look down their noses and say, "amazing thread. You guys are overreacting hahaha"
I really want Ubisoft to do the same thing for the PC or Xbox one version and then see who is overreacting.

It must be down to API's then because The they both contain 2 4core jaguars with the same 20gb memory bandwidth accessible to the CPU.

Depends on the actual load, I'd guess. If you are dealing with big data you use the main ram and this is of course faster than using the DDR3 memory from Xbone.
This makes the CPU look faster because fewer wait_states.

Wait, what? What makes you assume that MS is paying for parity? That's a big claim to make. Do you have any evidence?

You have no evidence of this, how can you actually state this and believe it. Not that I am defending Ubi at all, but now this is going into stating things as true with no evidence. People are starting to sound like FOX news around here.

I'm sure, this will be a nice game.
But it's a little sad, they didn't use the azure technology, to improve/outsource AI.
This is one thing, where the MS console can really play a trump over PS4 (if we're just looking at games, obviously).

They are talking about 2 completely different scenarios, CPU bound + GPU related resolution. its a generic console comment thrown in to muddy the water on their decision to introduce parity Resolution as to not "Wanting a debate and stuff"

Their absolutely trolling the gaming community and trying to blind them with silence, ie calling us stupid.

I know. I was correcting him in that framerate would not have necessarily been worse if the resolution was higher as cpu is the limiting factor.

Parity swings both ways baby ;)

Yeah, going to cancel my pre-order. I'm not usually one to jump on that bandwagon but this is just stupid. I own both systems so I can always buy the superior versions of multi-plats on top of the exclusives.

Wait what? That didn't really happen did it?

Look at the release media for Xbox One in the first year.

Kojima is in the Xbox One developers video at the announce event.

PP opens MS's conference.

Suddenly after the Graphics Comparison trailer, MS support stopped, and Sony support entered full swing.

Its safe to assume MS PR wasn't happy a game they were advertising is being shown of as inferior to the competition.

I honestly do not give a rats ass about console wars personally, own what you want. However as a PS4 owner I want the product offered to me to be 100% the best it could be... Not gimping it because the competition cannot do it. It only "hurts PS4 owners", gives them a worse experience than they could have had...

That goes for any product I buy... its anti-consumer and blatant negligence

So they openly admit that they could have pushed the PS4 version to 1080p but chose to hold it back to avoid a debate about performance differences? Well, fuck that. Forced parity is not ok. It doesn't benefit anyone, except possibly MS. XBO owners get the same version of the game they would get anyway, PS4 owners get a worse version than their console can actually handle. Again, fuck that. Will not support decisions like this with my money.

Alright GAF! We are only 2 degrees Kelvin away from a complete meltdown.

I don't really consider my statement hyperbolic- it's true. Microsoft can have some very detrimental practices which they get duly called out on but if you so much as DARE suggest that their product should fail to teach them a lesson you are immediately branded as a fanboy.

I didn't buy a Ps3 for several years because of Sony's early follies, and the 360 was my go to console. Now, while PC has since become my default, Sony clearly created the better of the two newest consoles, but is being held back by bullshit like this. After all this pressure to hold back the Ps4 version and taking away a high profile multiplatform game (Tomb Raider), why is it fanboyish to hope that Microsoft learns an expensive lesson through poor Xbox One sales?
