Got Plan C from a Legendary Engram yesterday. Not sure if I should bother upgrading it. On one hand, I prefer using a Sniper Rifle...on the other hand, seems like it would make a really good PvP weapon (though I really only do PvE). Hmmmm.

I'm level 25 now. Still need Legendary boots. What should I be looking to do now? Tiger strikes until I can buy Vanguard boots, I assume. How soon should I start looking at doing the Nightfall Weekly or Raid?

You can solo it but it involves cheese tactics for the final fight.

A single screw-up will send you back to orbit, so it's not something that I would undertake, personally. I did it in a group of three.
 
I got a question for all of the "pro matchmaking raid gaffers": what are you going to do when randoms start to AFK the raid boss fight after they got their chests? You can't kick them out in the current system. Are you just going quit and start over again if you can't finish it? Is that going to be fun to have to quit after a long session because you couldn't finish because of people going AFK.

And what if people just open the chests without waiting for the randoms that they are playing with and then you miss out on your possibility for RAID gear from the chests?

27 is probably the minimum to do well in either.

Raid is locked to 26, but probably best to start at 27. I imagine nightfall at 26 wouldbe brutal without good elemental weapond.

Plan C is great. I don't use it in pvp because I am a dirty suros user, but in pve it is a beast. Once I have a legendary primary it will be my equiped secondary

chests don't despawn in raid. That answers just the 2nd questions.

I had a very depressing moment when I had four Exotic Bounties running simultaneously. Definitely motivated me to clean it up a bit. And yeah, Super Good Advice is the easiest.

No, but last night I saw 11 people get kicked at the same time. I was the only one left. Immediately awarded me the rep + medals for the victory, it was pretty crazy.

I doubt it'll be Flayers / Dust Palace. As mentioned above, XB1 can't do it and they've been the same across platforms.

As for Void, I hope it's void. Some of us have Void primaries now!

Do bounties then and patrol missions while you're at it. The weekly strike also gives a decent amount of rep. You get the same amount of rep from a Tiger Strike that you could have got in less than 5 mins on patrol. And you might get lucky levelling up Rahool a bit.
 
Does GAF have an unofficial IRC channel or anything? Would be convenient if there was one for destiny for finding gaf groups. I have a bot I wrote that fetches some interesting stats for me that I could have announce in the channel (when vendor is selling rare fusions) for example.

Weapons are situational. Plan C is an awesomely accurate fusion rifle. If you use it right it's almost unfair on close quarters maps. It also kicks ass in arc damage buffed strikes (such as this recent nightfall).

Good point, but Winter's run sounds awful. The number of solar shield shanks that would spawn during that boss fight and the amount of health he has... yuck.

Although I'd be interested to see if 3 people with void machine guns and weapons of light could down him in the first 30 sec or so before any adds spawn

It ain't a leg or arm, but I have Dead Orbit chest armour that has that perk + more AR ammo too.

I don't understand what you mean... All the strikes that are possible have had NF status for a week now with the exception of the Archon Priest and Dust Palace ones. Over the next two weeks they have to come up.

Edit: just saw Biz's post and I now understand. I have no idea how they'll do it... Maybe skip it altogether and restart the cycle? Or just give PS4 it....

What's stopping a player from getting into a group now and just going AFK? Matchmaking has nothing to do with people going AFK. If it was an issue, Bungie should be looking into anti AFK and Griefing measures, kick players not getting kills or moving,etc.

Change it so chests don't despawn when opened.

The Dust Palace is a Playstation exclusive Strike mission. If the weeklies/dailies/NF are the same across platforms, then Dust Palace won't be in that rotation and it'll be Winter's Run if indeed Bungie is ticking down a list.

I don't this would work. I remember someone describing the system as something similar to whack-a-mole. You open a chest in one place, it spawns in another. Otherwise no chests would respawn.

Edit: gawd my reading comprehension is at an all time low today.... Sorry I assumed you were talking about chests in general

Yeah I edited my original post. Either way, next week is definitely gonna be Winter's run then.

The fireteam leader can boot them out at any time if they go AFK in the RAID and invite somebody as (in the RAID as it is currently set up). And if they do that now people will stop playing with them. Randoms going AFK is currently a big problem in Destiny Strikes. Matchmaking as it is currently implemented in Destiny is a big part of why people do it.

They can do it, but they'll just be booted by the fireteam leader. It also means you don't have to wait for someone to be booted for inactivity which is already a feature.

Chests don't despawn anyway.
 
Considering AFKers get booted out of PvP and PvE if they idle....


They need to add that to strikes, and it should be a thing for raids too. But also, considering the level of skill and commitment the raid requires, I think a voting system to boot inactives in raid matches would be a good thing. Sure some would abuse it, that's the same with everything, but it would solve AFKers that just twitch the controller now and then.
 
Man, I don't know how people find groups for raids so easily. I'm at lvl 28 looking to do my first raid, posting on LFG and the RaidGAF and have only gotten 1, maybe 2, invites.

For those with experience finding random groups, is it better to just join a group midway through and hoping to do it from the start on another week, or is it better to try to find a group to start from the beginning?
 
I really need to get more strange coins.

How do I do that? I have a hard time doing the weekly stuff cause I don't have anyone to play with. Save one buddy who's on regularly.

It sounds like you put on a FWC/New Monarchy/Dead Orbit class item and forgot about it.

Take that stuff off or you'll never be able to spend your Vanguard marks.
