PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Fun fact: the Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus LE is currently the #1 best selling Vita game on both amazon.com and amazon.ca.

Even in NA the game will not get a regular retail release, only the Limited Edition.

According to that Xseed guy who posts frequently on NeoGAF, it was already difficult to convince distributors to do a Limited Edition at all. And apparently doing any sort of retail release at all for Bon Appétit is completely out of the question, due to how raunchy it is.

These things should be set up so that you can order a physical copy of ANY GAME if the dev/pub can get a certain number of pre-orders at a set price that would generate profit.

IE; At 5000 copies, those copies would then be made and shipped out - and you'd be billed at the time they went into manufacturing.

It would all be done either through Sony (if they wanted to make it easier) or the dev/pub with them simply gauging actual interest (pre-order $) before actually printing the games.

I really don't understand how in a world where you can buy a 3D printer and print yourself out most of a car it's impossible to have someone pre-buy a game until they have enough profit to print them and everyone benefits.

News to me.. that's a shame. Do we have a release date/window on Bon Appétit yet?

Shortly after the launch of Shinovi Versus, as far as I know. I've been asking and they only tell me that much.

Atlus USA.

TOTP: Buy Gravity Rush.

Woot. I messed up.

Sony should have given everyone with a Vita Gravity Rush for free.

Let's all blame Sony.

Isn't it less than what we have on Amazon LE? I mean, they said it's only a game and a mystery game related item, while the LE we are getting on Amazon has the game, the OST CD and the book.

I'm not a fan of mystery gift unless I know it's a kind of nendoroid/figure.
There is only one retail version of Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. You can tell from the images that Crunchyroll has the Let's Get Physical Edition + random item.

Random edit: Not sure how much I like this Miku avy. Maybe I should switch it up again.

That's not the problem here. What prevents them from doing retail releases of SK games is their... erm... potentially controversial presentation. He also confirmed that it was the same reason why Senran Kagura Burst was digital only (it's even harder on a Nintendo platform).

Xseed already does retail releases of most of their other games anyway, no matter how niche they may be. So it's not a financial problem.

It seems that several other people share my point of view. And even if I was the only one to feel this way, this is the ps4 topic as well. Don't be that guy, please.

'Don't be that guy' is exactly what I was asking you not to be. I stand by my assertion that the only way you can run out of games on the ps4 in 10 days is if you didn't buy any and don't have ps+. Anything else is hyperbole. 5 minutes of research before buying the system would have told you if there weren't 10 days worth of games for you.

EDITED TO ADD:

From that list page:
Playable = 129 available to purchase (9 of these are exclusive to PS4)

lol I bought a PS4 knowing it was gonna be much like my Wii U, an exclusive machine. I tend to play all my mutliplats on my PC, but I feel that with upcoming Bloodborne, Tearaway with new content, Persona 5, yS (I'm getting both versions hell yea!) I'm gonna be pretty satisfied in the long run. Really enjoyed playing Knack on it so far, played through Infamous: SS once and thought it was fun, but it just wasn't anywhere near as good or memorable to me as the first 2 games.

List doesn't help, really. You can list all the Vita games that were released recently or are going to be released in the future and people still say there is nothing for them to play on the system. It even happened in the Upcoming Vita Games thread.

The only thing I could do is suck it up and wait until there are games I want to play. Voicing my disappointment in PS4 thread would only lead to some ugly blaming. Those PS+ thread is already enough.

One should not question the actions Canada. We'll just apologize.
Destiny was still a way's out, and the Ouya had a decent discount.

I always thought people wouldn't even bother with the Ouya even if it's free.

All is forgiven as long as I see SK:SV on the top.

Tales of Xillia 2 is destroying me, recently decided to get back into the game cause I wanna finish it.

I'm on
chapter 7
and just beat
Aska
and now im at
another boss, this time a great spirit whos name i forgot the name of at the dimensional breach
and I'm getting completely destroyed. barely making a dent.

any tips on how to play like a pro? :D I never had this much trouble in the first game.

When I get home, I will spam this thread with my new 7D waifu, and you will all bow down to her.

I like how the game goes on if you let it go to sleep mode on its own (you can still the game running/BGM and Ionasal talking).

My friend gave me a Limited/Collectors Edition of Demon Gaze he won at a con. It's pretty nice. But I just started and I'm at the character screen. Is it recommended to go with the default avatar? And do I get to see the other character portraits I can pick from actually in the game often enough? I'd like to pick the default guy but if I'm gonna be stuck with him with no relief I'll do something else.

I've been considering cancelling my LE Senran Kagura preorder and just getting it digital. Im still playing Nep-Nep and got that physical and hate to switch cards out. i like musou style beat 'em ups and saw some youtube videos of this and think i can look past all the fan servicey bits and enjoy the game. It's going to be 39.99 on PSN right? I don't really care about OST and the art book.

As long as you buy it, s'all good.

You only see their faces most of the time. You can even change it later after completing a certain quest, so it really doesn't matter.

Searching Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus on my mobile and all I see is tits..what kind of game is it? What other game is similar?

It's an action, beat-em-up title. Burst was a side-scroller, while SV is almost like a musou game, with a more open environment that lets you move around lots more. Yes, there is fanservice, with lots of Life and Hometown represented, but the characters are all vastly unique, and have depth.

I am horribly biased, in case my icon didn't make that clear.

As for it being similar to anything... I don't know? Maybe not?

I have no understanding of what your referring to in regards to hometown, life and your avatar.

One of the men behind the game famously said 'Tits are Life, ass is Hometown' in regards to Senran Kagura. And the girl in my avatar is Hikage, AKA the best girl in the game, at least as far as Burst is concerned.

I will admit at first I only interest in her because she looks a lot like Yuuka Kazami, lol.

Can I just jump straight into Rebirth 3 or do I have to have played previous games?

You should play the previous games first. It's a kind of sequel where they assume you know the character. Neptunia Rebirth 1 is good imo. You could take a look at the OT if you want to know more about it. The fanservice is pretty tame, too.

The only game of the series I have played is Victory(the game Rebirth 3 is based on), and I enjoyed it a lot, I did know the characters already because I watched the anime and read about it before playing but I didn't really mind not playing 1 or 2.

I couldn't resist. Bought MGS, later I will download it on PS3 and then transfer to the Vita!

I will have to refill my PSN wallet for tomorrow lol

Welp, ordered a 64GB card for my Vita. Not sure if this is a huge waste of money, but it'll be nice not to have to juggle my digital library around!

Iris is a playable party member right?

I finally bought a PS+ subscription today. Next month's lineup did it for me (Pix the Cat, Spelunky etc.)

Decided to grab this month's selection before they vanish. Got to PlayStation All-Stars on Vita and whaaaaat the fuck. How is it SO HUGE?! Like 3GB in total. That is mental. Cancelled the download, never going to play it ever. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When will DriveClub PS+ edition is on?

She's playable in Rebirth 1, too. Through DLC. Only $1 and you get the girl for yourself for the whole game. I'd say it's worth to go with the DLC for that price. Note that her name is Plutia. God I love both of her forms.

What part of my original quote made you think this would be a problem lol

Some kind of defensive mechanism in my mind suddenly kicked in for no reason, lol.
