PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Don't seem to be all the Games though, Dungeons and Dragons still 15 € for me, Pix and Spelunky are free.
TOPT: Download yo Ps+ Games!

There is an exploration game on PS Mobile starring Hatsune Miku. How did this get cleared?

This changed tonight. Now, the individual PS3 and Vita versions of Rainbow Moon have free PS+ offers. The Vita version should be in the PS+ section of the Vita store.

About Rainbow Moon, just checked and you are right, there it was with the other stuff right on the Vita, thanks.

Is something special required to get cross save working with Spelunky? I've made progress in the PS Vita version which I already own. But can't figure out (on either end) how to use that in PS4 version.

I haven't booted up spelunky on PS4 but I'm not seeing anything on the Store page that indicates it's cross save, has that been confirmed anywhere?

Will Sony replace my PS4 controller even though it's been almost a year?

I purchased 3 controllers at launch. One of the three was still in the box until today, because I ran into an issue with one of the two I actively use.

The problem is the left analog stick (it's not peeling). It's an acceleration issue. The stick often feels stiff and unresponsive. When I'm scrolling though the Destiny menu, the left stick tends to aim downwards, even though I'm moving it horizontally.

Am I screwed with this one?

PSN is slow as shit for me today even by PSN standards.

Also I've fnally filled my 64gb card. Thankfully I've got some shit games to delete like Dragon's Crown though.

Ar noSurge Vita looks like a bomba in Japan. I think people should just buy the PS3 one instead of waiting for something that won't be coming.

Thoroughly pleased with this month's PS+ already and I haven't touched the PS3 games, Rainbow Moon or Driveclub (lol not that I can). Pix is surprisingly great, Spelunky...is Spelunky but I already had it, cool for other people, Dust is a known quantity but I think I'll enjoy playing it on PS4 more.

On the other hand I may have to delay buying Styx because I was kind of hoping I wouldn't play that much of any of these except driveclub.

Wouldn't localization be mostly the same anyway? I know it's more than copy+paste anyway, but still should be much cheaper than from scratch.

Can't recommend enough that people keep their PS3s though. It feels like every other week (for the last, um, 5 years) I've had people telling me "that sounds great but I have no PS3". Most recently Vib Ribbon's CD mode.

Is OP ever gonna update the first page with the PS+ free games? I know what they are but I wanna see them when i click the thread lol.

We still haven't gotten Atelier Ayesha Plus yet, though. And with no whisper of it coming in the most recent wave of announcements (Empires/Bladestorm/Toukiden) I actually wonder if it's coming.

I do wonder if it's actually the cost of all the QA and stuff to be honest. They sell in really small volumes (apart from Totori which seems to have done well from being an early-ish release). I suspect Ar noSurge would do even worse than an Atelier title.

Styx: Master of Shadows – 10% off for two weeks
That's good, still not sure about this Game.

And what the hell is Invokers?

Argh, I might be getting a Vita soon and I'd totally buy EDF from EU PSN at that price if not for how much of a pain in the ass it is to use multiple accounts on the Vita.

Hurry up and go on sale in the US again, EDF. ;_;

Wouldn't QA mostly be for the original game? QA involve in the actual localization changes alone shouldn't be too much more than checking that all the text displays properly I would think. I saw Tom Mato debugging his Mother 3 fan translation and while it's more work than copy&paste it didn't seem like something that'd be crazy expensive either.

I guess they might simply consider the sales "that bad" considering how Vita usually does in the west vs JP. Glad to see japanese games hitting PS4 if only because that seems to make localization much more likely than for a Vita title.

I bought Spelunky on Vita a long time ago but when I try to download on PS4 it says I need plus in order to keep on playing it. I thought it was cross-buy. Shouldn't it just let me download it without giving me that message?

Just download it from the PS4 store, it'll throw you that warning but it seems to be a glitch, if you note it says "free" not "free (PS+ logo)" or at least when I went to the store, and after downloading and installing it shows without an expiration date, so it's the full version. It's wonky, but you should have the "forever" version not the PS+ if you download it.

SCEA needs to fix how they do some of these PS+ offerings. It's a huge cluserfuck this week; Rainbow Moon's bundle isn't purchasable due to that braindead "can't buy a bundle with items you already own, even if it's cheaper to buy the bundle than the remaining items" situation, Spelunky improperly throws the PS+ warning even if you own it "for reals", everything about Driveclub (why why why is it not a $10 discount on the real game, there is no reason for 2 paid versions)

This has occurred TWICE on two of my dualshock 4 control pads. I love the dualshock with the whole of my little tiny heart but there is something clearly wrong with the longevity of this product :-(

(Send it off to Sony for a replacement)

Okay cool, I figure if there's ever a problem I could just call them up. Still bothers me... Thanks for the quick response.

Anybody get Jet Car Stunts? How is it?

I've been playing it a few times over the past day. I like it. Everything runs very smooth (way better then it ever did on iOS). Controls are a little too sensitive for my liking, wish you could adjust in the settings. From what I've played they seem to be the exact same levels from the mobile game which means I'll be blowing through them pretty fast, hope they add some more in the future. Other than that no real complaints. If you wanna know more I can go a little more in depth.

When it goes to another platform, you need QA again. Localization could break the game just because of the change of text format. If you have played game in JP audio, sometimes you will notice the dialogue doesn't quite match the text in length. It's not just because the localization only, but they will need twice or triple text box for additional dialogue in English because it's too long, and it will involve changing the source code again. Most of the times people just choose the easy way out by changing the dialogue to something shorter so that it could fix in the text box.

And yeah, they said they would consider the localization based completely on the PS3 version's sale, so we don't really have much choices.

Warranty is a year IIRC, just call 'em ASAP, no controller should be old enough to be out of warranty yet. I called 'em a month ago and was cleared to get a repair under warranty but...didn't actually send my controllers in. One turned out to be a new design of PS3 controller with an oddity I wasn't familiar with, not broken. The other is a squeaky trigger I think I can fix myself, but I need the world's smallest screw driver to open a DS4.

I am looking to get into the SRPG genre and I'm unsure where to begin. My current library is as follows:

Vita: FFT: War of the lions, Tactics Ogre: Let us cling together, Disgaea 3, and now Rainbow Moon.

Any play order to enjoy the genre or just go with what ever I like?

You can always play games in whatever order you like.

Since you say you're brand new to the genre... I'd almost recommend buying Jeanne D'arc (psp) as I think that's a perfect beginner SRPG.

Yes, just call them.

Checked the store on the Vita to see what sort of price Wipeout 2048 was these days, it said free. I figured it was a trial and then read that it's free for anyone who owns HD/fury. Why didn't I know this. I could have been playing Wipeout on the Vita for ages.

Edit: I'm an idiot. It's just add on content.

lets you play all the HD/Fury levels in 2048 multiplayer, really sweet bonus

Yeah that was crazy when I found that out! It adds even more insane amounts of content to Wipeout 2048. Was amazing considering how much hours I put back into Wipeout HD back in the day and was awesome to see they could be played on the Vita as well.

I got Vib Ribbon due to it having a PS+ discount and.....just what IS it O_O.

I tried playing with the controls but it just seems odd. I get there is a jump button and a climb button but....I just keep getting killed :(. Will stick with it though :D; seems really odd in a interesting way :).

Wondering how they are going to make the PS3/PS4/Vita Vib Ribbon though :); as all three have stronger hardware to work with and the many inputs they have (the Vita's touch screen and the PS4's touch pad for example) could lead to some cool gameplay :).
