PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Thanks guys

I'll give Sony a call a few minutes.

Just to prepare you, you pay the shipping to them, they ship a what appears to be a new unit to you (didn't look like a refurb, but was in a sealed baggie) to you

EDIT:

Wow! First top of page (50ppp ftw)....

Buy NATURAL DOCTRINE. This game is the real deal if you like srpg/tactical games. Don't believe the hate.

Also -- buy Super Stardust Delta, TxK, Sine Mora, and Luftrausers for arcade goodness.

Quick question about PSN Vib Ribbon on PS3

Everything I've read points to the "use your own CD" feature working on the PS3 (understandably not on Vita). I didn't have a lot of time last night to try things, and the one CD I tried didn't seem to work (a CD that moments before was perfectly happy with copying tracks onto the PS3 hard drive). So a thought occurs, does Vib Ribbon only recognize commecial CDs, or does it have the capability to use CD-Rs also?

If it can only recognize commercially pressed CDs, that would explain why the CD I was trying last night wouldn't work...if the game can recognize burn CDs, then I have no clue why it wasn't working.

MP3 CD or "music CD"? Going to guess Vib Ribbon only accepts music CDs not MP3 ones. Can't be sure though, I would have had to burn a CD so I didn't get to trying my own music last night

Who the fuck still has CDs? Haha. =j

I suck at Vib Ribbon, but it sure is charming.

Symphony of the Night aged really well.

Strider 1 is glorious on Vita, Strider 2 is a curious beast but it is oh so easy to play! Such an odd game.

Pix the Cat is excellent.

..that is all.

All of my LE's CD OST would like to have a word with you ;p.

But still, I didn't know Vib Ribbon accept other music, too. Does it crossbuy? I'd like to buy it on the Vita, but that feature of use your own music CDs really draw my interest.

Ar noSurge Vita looks like a bomba in Japan. I think people should just buy the PS3 one instead of waiting for something that won't be coming.

That might give me the push I need to actually play through Ar Tonelico 2 & 3 so I can start on the PS3 version then.

Hqve you never bought a psx game before?
All psx games are at least playable on ps3 and psp, and some are vita compatible.

All the talk about playing on Vita make me think it's remade for the Vita or something. So it's PSOne classic? Time to buy it then.

Don't say I didn't warn you, but it may make you stop playing before having a chance to reach Ar noSurge.

I think knowing about Ar tonelico 1 and 2 is good enough.

I have plenty of CD Rs to burn for my car (too old for MP3s, aux port is too annoying to use, bluetooth doesn't seem to do music) and I keep the physical CDs from any limited edition or anything special like the physical release of Endless Fantasy by Anamanagucci. I'd never actually play the ORIGINAL disk in anything except my PC once to rip though.

man, i can never get into spelunky.

every time:

i download
play the tutorial
turn off halfway through the first level
delete

i just have no interest in spending my time on that game.

Yeah, I've heard bad things about 3. I may skip it. 1 was the first (and currently only) JRPG I ever finished (short attention span), and I LOVED it (waifu paradise) so I'm eager. But the retranslation of 2 seems close, so maybe I'll wait for that.

You can enjoy Qoga, with a condition. Set the difficulty to easy. The less you have to deal with system battle, the better. The only interesting part of battle system is the song magic, otherwise it's just a failed copy of Star Ocean system. Everything else is pretty good, though, especially the music.

I already set it to easy I think (can I check?) but I got to the first..."inside the singer" level thing...and failed and am very confused. Does it get better?

I've never played one and only bought it because I was sick and bored btw so I have no idea what the hell is going on

I'm a huge fan of Ar Tonelico and even then I try to stay away from 3. There's just something off about it. The only redeeming thing about it was that there were some cameos from previous games.

Nah, I'll wait for the definitive version, thanks. Ayesha Plus sold 12k, if that's coming (not confirmed but still) I don't see why Ar shouldn't.

music CD, not mp3 CD. I burned the disc for use in a CD boombox about 12 years ago, so its all lossless wave files and plays on any CD player.

Thanks, I'll definitely bear that in mind.

On another subject...

We need Strider 1 & 2 in EU. Yeah, I know. Add it to the list.

Wonder why PSN speed is so inconsistent. I watched spelunky download before my eyes and it was pretty normal. Not peak speed of my connection, but hardly any worse than a Steam download

Oh, that sounds less promising. I still have a few I could play in it though.

What are you, like, 14 or something?

I'm 24 and I'm 100% digital when it comes to music, like pretty much everyone I know in real life (even my grandmother). I haven't bought a CD or burned a CD since about 2005.

PS Store as well.
Welcome Park too but that's technically a game...

They need to let us remove Welcome Park and some of the other stock apps - or at least hide them. :/

A whole wall full of music CDs probably says I do. Would need to plaster a second one if importing OSTs and japanese noise rock were less expensive. :/

I'd have so many CDs if I could reasonably purchase japanese game OSTs, especially for SNES and PSX games. But nooooope. Lucky if you can get a sampler OST out of Club Nintendo or a scraps from a 20 year old japan-only limited print run.

For the people that have played both, would you say One piece R is a Senran Kagura something something for us who don´t like to have quite as much focus on chest and cloth ripping?

I've been playing it a few times over the past day. I like it. Everything runs very smooth (way better then it ever did on iOS). Controls are a little too sensitive for my liking, wish you could adjust in the settings. From what I've played they seem to be the exact same levels from the mobile game which means I'll be blowing through them pretty fast, hope they add some more in the future. Other than that no real complaints. If you wanna know more I can go a little more in depth.

Sounds like fun. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't broken or anything.

Game either has to be shit or GOTY.

Finally convinced a friend to buy a PSTV even though he hates the Vita.
Thank you, Danganronpa series!

I know that feeling. Picked it up in a sale a few months ago, even though I tried the trail version and it didn't click. Everytime I see someone recommending Spelunky in this thread, I'm thinking of giving it another go. But then I remember I have other games to play/finish.

Pix the Cat is a pleasant surprise.

Why are there so many copies of Killzone Mercenary traded in to my local secondhand games 'n' stuff store? :(

Pix the Cat seems pretty cool. Screw those trophies, though.

How's the Framerate for EDF2017 on Vita? Lot going on in the Game, just asking to make sure.
It's EDF so the framerate can get pretty bad when a lot of enemies are on screen, especially at higher difficulties. That's pretty standard for EDF games, though. It's a steal for £4. 2017 on 360 is actually one of my favourite games of all time.

Driveclub threads are crazy. It's apparently not possible to be middleground on that game.

Pretty much any thread dedicated to any game is crazy, people see the name and have 1 of 2 reactions;
  1. Awesome, I think I'll post about how cool this game is.
  2. What? Someone's talking about that game I dislike? Better get in there and talk shit to them.

I avoid them like the plague for the most part.
