I've made my peace with the fact that these Plus versions are only ever going to be digital.

Dual audio is bloody excellent... might actually double dip on this one now (already own it on PS3).

Though, I need to get Rororna Plus first. And finish off Meruru Plus.

Now... Escha & Logy Plus in Japan when?

(Also, possibly Ar NoSurge Plus on the cards next for TKE?)

Can't complain about more games for the vita. But the dusk trilogy games are pretty inferior to the arland games.

Huh, really? I've generally heard the opposite.

What makes them different from arland other than location and characters?

If we're talking about Gust localisations, then Atelier Shallie should be next after Ayesha+. Then the next one would probably either be Ciel Nosurge or Ar Nosurge+. Probably the former, if they intend to localise that one at all.

It sure is windy these days.

It's all preference. The Arland games had more of a focus on slice of life, "cute girls doing cute things". While the Dusk games have more of an overarching story line with
the world slowly dying
and Ayesha in particular has a lot of emphasis on world building.

The Arland games were also much more consistent than the Dusk games so far. The Dusk games have had multiple different alchemy systems, different battle systems and even different approaches to the time management aspect. Where as Arland kept it all the same, while building upon what the last game did.

Even if the later games are technically superior, the Dusk games sorely lacks the sense of adventure that the Arland games have (explore, plunge into the unknown) and the simple, but moving, coming of age storylines. And Ayesha and Escha have the most boring cast of characters of my recent RPG played..

Alright, though after playing all 3 arland games I can do with something that tweaks the formula a bit more. :P

What the Dusk games sorely lacks is the sense of adventure that the Arland games have (explore, plunge into the unknown) and the simple, but moving, coming of age storylines.

But what irks me in Ayesha and Escha is the boring cast of characters.

Hmm, the characters are part of why I really like the games. Guess I'll have to see.

Don't worry, the characters in Ayesha are definitely better than Meruru's cast and on about the same level as Totori's cast. Escha & Logy is the one where the characters fall flat.

Great news! Lookin forward to play it again.

Although i did like the Arland games better because the whole world was more light-hearted and Rorona was just plain funny. In contrary i kinda felt sorry for Ayesha the whole time, which made the game somehow gloomy and a little depressive.

And this is why I haven't bought any of them. I would love to, but I demand physical versions.

For any non indie DD only game:

Less sales = less chances for its sequel to be localized/realized
more sales = more chances of it sequel of being localized/realized and being a retail release.

We all know that this is how it works, i hope no one would try to deny it, anyone not buying a digital game only because it's digital is a big part of the problem.

Vita is hands down the worst choice for retail boxes lovers anyway, i wonder how many games retail boxes lovers buy on Vita.

Could be just me
it is not
, but I really want to own my games. As long as there exists the possibility to import physical copies, I'm not going to buy a digital one. Well, that ain't 100% true, because I have bought both a few times.

awe man, sweet stuff. VITA should be added to the title! I Played Totori and Meruru + and now /i have to get Rorona and Ayesha! Fun games, /i just wish the tight time deadlines were scaled back just a tiny bit so you can actually finish everything in a playthrough...

I have 33 games on my Vita right now. 30 of them are physical, and the digital games are the ones that either are digital games to begin with or whose English versions are digital only. I plan to buy about 5 more physical games that are already out, and have 3 more this year alone to look forward to. I also will go great lengths to get every game physically if possible. For example, I have imported the Asian versions of FFX and X-2 HD, because those have all of the major European languages on it and are in 2 seperate boxes and on 2 seperate cartridges.
There's just no time and money to buy a digital only release with all that in mind, which is why I only buy those titles when they're on a huge sale.

IN. Got all Arland trilogy digitally on Vita. Will do the same here.

I'm still need to finish start playing those games tho.

Yes please! Ayesha is still my favourite of the Atelier games.

Siliconera has more detail on what the Japanese Plus version had in terms of new features. There's an Escha & Logy-esque album missions system (like the tasks grid in E&L), which unlocks some minor gameplay tweaks like speeding up battle animations and allowing you to swap party members at any time. Also the usual extra bosses/costumes, and a "hard mode."

Awesome, I love TK. About to finish Meruru+ and I hope Rorona+ goes on sale soon since that was the only game that I didn't buy day 1.

After the bad taste left by Escha & Logy, the dual audio on Ayesha Plus will keep me going until we get Shallie.

Huh I might actually be interested in this then. Yet another reason to consider a Vita I guess

Any word on Shallie for North America?

I don't think KT has ever had two Atelier titles announced for localisation at the same time. It will probably be announced a week after Ayesha+ comes out. KT said something about Escha & Logy being the best selling Atelier in the west, so there's no way it isn't coming over.

Sauce? That would be absolutely lovely if true.

Unless they meant "the best selling Atelier we've ever released in the west", in which case that would not be so good since it's only up against Ayesha; Rorona Plus and the Vita ports.

It was on twitter back when Escha & Logy released. And KTE actually handled the distribution of the Arland games for NISA in Europe, I'm pretty sure. So at least when it comes to Europe, they know what they're talking about.

I also wanted physical copies, but sadly there's nothing good left in them, they are just cold, sad and empty plastic boxes, there's not even a manual! Also having games in the memory is convenient so i decided to go almost all digital.

Anyway Vita relies(too much?) on digital, missing the dd only games means losing a lot, well at least if one doesn't know the Japanese, in that case it's different.

Wow 33 retail games! :O
My retailers have 10-15 old games at max :(

Anyway 33 games is probably a big part of the western Vita retail lineup :\ , the number of retail Vita games is not comparable to the one of other consoles.

Yes, better than previous Atelier series.

KT also distributed the Arland games in North America. That information is printed on the back of the boxes.

Edit: Link fixed.

I bought just about all (except the last two) the original hardcopies, then totori and meruru+.. I really need to restart this series.

The gameplay in Rorona vanilla just left me uninterested.

I would disagree. Dusk trilogy is a nice breath of fresh air. Arland as a trilogy is a lot more consistent though.

Now if you said, Totori is the superior game out of all PS3 ATelier games, I would agree. Although who knows, I maybe Shallie could up the bar.
