A quote from a LoK tumblr blog, take it how you will:

A group member in my Makorra Facebook group asked David about Makorra, and this is what he said to her: “Well; um, I can’t tell this much, but something amazing will happen to them.” * David smiles* Her friend beside her asked David if he could tell them a bit more, but David just replied “I’m sorry, but that’s all that I can say for now.”

Eat your heart out, Satch.

Shipping sucks and amalgamations of character names in an attempt to inject non-existent romance into their interactions is creepy.

Tbh I think the best possible outcome is that Korra ends up alone.

This season is all about her development, and despite my own personal feelings regarding the ship, I think it would be pretty meh if Korra went through all that pain and heartache to just end up as Mako's girlfriend.

I want her to be independent, strong, and confident that she can stand on her own two feet. Whether that be with or without her friends.

Having said that, Mako had the best dialogue he's actually had in a while despite not featuring in the episode at all. The "Enough joking around" line made me laugh.

I was surprised when Toph called Korra Twinkle Toes, isnt the point of the show that Korra has to stand on her own without the past Avatars? she doesnt even have any connection with Aang anymore, maybe its more than a little reference, i wonder if this means they will reestablish the connection by the end.

I kind of wish that the show would have more of that, I mean they outright state that new Avatars are reincarnations, yet so seldom does anyone even touch of it. Obviously Korra is her own person as she/he he in every incarnation, but the spark and essence is still the same underneath it.

Bryke said this when? I don't remember them saying that at the panel?

And I'd prefer for Korra to end up single at the end of the series. With Mako it's so painfully cliche and expected, I would rather not unless they can make it feel right this season.

Hmm interesting you are setting it on a american server right?
and keep refreshing the page when you are on it as it should work.

I'll give it another try, but if that doesn't work, I'm just going to say "Fuck It!" and watch the episode by using unsavory means.

If you guys seriously, honest to judeo-christian god thought that Korrasami was going to happen you either have no idea about how homosexual people feel or act or are giving the writers way more credit than they deserve with subtleties. Because there have been no hints whatsoever.

Legend of Korra Book 4 Episode 2

I'll spoiler for now but I assume there's a point we won't need spoilers? What's the agreed upon time anyway?

Thoughts on the episode:
- Korra's recovery, as expected, took a while. Like it was what? 6 months before she could take actual steps, two years before she could do some actual fighting, and even then her fear and insecurities clashed with her fighting and left her traumatized? Damn. No wonder she couldn't fight, she's seeing that version of her everywhere.

- The letters were all boring. BESIDES Bolin's letters. Not sure if the drawings were an appendix, in the back, or simply the letters themselves but the writers finally got Bolin humor down right with the "my dearest Korra" reading. I burst out laughing. Good job on that. Asami's letter made me giggle. "Fix the city's infrastructure". Do you know what that entails? That was the equivalent of saying "Korra I got a new contract. Money". If you're gonna use technical terms at least realize that infrastructure could mean a number of things.

- It was nice to see Katara again. She's aged very gracefully. Dare I say she doesn't look nearly as old as she did back in season 1?

- The little spirit who guides her looks like Winnie the Pooh. Why do I feel they are children of the staff?

- Fuck yeah, Toph. Nice to see her. She'll be her Yoda.

Over-all a pretty decent episode. I didn't like it as much as the first episode, but for me Korra has never been the most interesting character. I'm more interested in Kuvira, Bolin, and Opal and whatever their plot lines will end up being.

Also you guys lied to me and I want to point that out. A couple of you were saying to prepare for the feels for
Katara
and I was eagerly awaiting scenes of her maybe
talking about Aang and maybe sounding a bit sad and missing him
but nothing of the sort happened. The only thing that was remotely emotional is when Korra
takes the steps to Naga
and even then this is all part of the recovery process scenes, I've seen that millions of times before. So yeah taking what you guys consider 'feels' with a grain of salt next time.

Looking forward to the next episode. Strong season so far. Keep this up and the later episodes of season 1 plus the first half and finale of season 2 will be the black sheeo of korra and we'll have almost 3 solid to decent seasons.

Personally, I hope to the Good Lord that they don't put Korra and Mako back together.

I hope that Mako and Asami end the series together, because their relationship just seemed to flow more naturally (and was more believable), kind of like Katara and Aang. Mako and Asami work well together, and it would be much more believable given promixity, and how much time has passed. The scene in the premiere still implied to me that they like each other, so just please let it happen naturally (between Mako and Asami).

Whereas some of the Makorra scenes (especially the later ones) seemed to me like two people playing with a Barbie and Ken doll, and making them kiss. Makorra never worked well together for long anyways, so I hope they don't try to revive it (again).

Well can we expect them to know any better than you or homosexuals do? Wouldn't it be unfair to even put sexual relations in the same prism of the cultural baggage we have? In the avatar universe there is far more prevalent gender representation in things there strictly for men within the same technological ages.

Toph is going to Toph.
Writers be damned. Besides it's not like avatars haven't been addressed in the same way their past selves were addressed before.

i wonder if katara knows toph is alive

I always assumed Toph was included as a friend in Katara's statement in the first episode
"..my brother and many of my friends are gone".

I guess she just never heard from her at some point and assumed she had died.

What do you mean with "feel or act"? Homosexuals are just humans like everybody else. Sure, there are some that follow the cliché, but most homosexuals just behave like everybody else.
That said, yes, there were no indicators that didn't need a bit of stretching, but I think it's entirely possible that Korrasami could happen in general.

I wonder if Iroh knows. Toph was very friendly with him and is currently at a seemingly very spiritual place. Would be sweet if he would pay her a visit now and then.

I think Mako and Asami are almost as bad as Makorra, they ruin each other together, but maybe this time it wont be as bad, just dont ruin the main plot.

If it was for me i would just have it somewhat like book 3, a few scenes with MakoxKorra, MakoxAsami and KorraxAsami, somewhat goofy tone, and leave it open, that way everyone is unhappy:P

Alright, I've given up. I'm now ditching Nickelodeon's stupid website for the foreseeable future. I'm stressing out with things in my personal life, and I don't need something as trivial as this to make me lose my marbles. /rant

Anyway, I was finally able to watch the new episode. (As I have mentioned, by unsavory means.) I liked that Korra had been on a three year quest to find & reclaim her spiritual side that Zaheer had taken away from her. Seeing Toph again had put a smile on my face, and the possibility that she is the salvation that Korra desperately needs will make things interesting. I wouldn't be shocked that Toph is going to apply a "tough love" approach, in the same manner when she had instructed Aang in the school of hard knocks all those years ago, but I do wonder if Toph's history (after she had left Republic City) will be brought up. Also, I'm pretty sure that she didn't go out with a rock to bring her daughters into the world, so I hope there will be some hint as to who she had dated (heh, rock puns) and married during her time.

Couple of reviews for the latest episode.

This episode demands a lot from Korra voice actress Janet Varney, and she gives an exceptional performance that fully captures the Avatar’s pain, fear, and sadness. Her voice work is essential to bringing a sense of reality to Korra’s struggle, and the performance adds a lot of dimension to the character’s struggle.
AV Club A-

This week's Korra episode was tonally very different from the premiere, as the focus shifted to Korra and her three-year journey of healing. Here, the storytelling came from an emotional place, freeing up the episode to really explore Korra's PSTD and the affect Zaheer had on her physical and spiritual self. Beautifully animated, wonderfully scored and dramatically poignant, "Korra Alone" easily ranks among the best episodes of the series -- and we're only just getting started on Book Four!
IGN 10/10

The path isn’t clear. In that way, “Korra Alone” is the perfectly packaged response to all the haters who wonder why the Avatar can’t stand up, throw her baggage to the side, and get back to her job. Life isn’t a comic book movie. Neither is “Legend of Korra.”

I think that's his point. There is almost nothing to indicate it would happen if it were a hetero relationship, so to look for clues everywhere is stretching very very far.
