From the Führer of course.
Maybe the Hipster formerly known as Skrillex tought him.

I think I've never seen someone so confused. He started writing to her before he worked with Kuvira, and her fiancee isn't the Skrillex kid, he had like half a second of screen time last season, they're different dudes.

I can't really believe people would be stubborn on this. In his head he hears this super elegant letter, draws it down like a 5 year old, and then Korra can actually interpret it perfectly and read it as he meant it. That's the joke.

I look into that when I'm back home. How many damn kids does Su have?

She has five kids.

  • Opal
  • Those two twins
  • Skrillex Banna statue guy
  • Baatar Jr who is Kuvira's soon to be husband
    unless the avatar stops her
Oh, ashes on my head then. I forgot about glasses. So what happened to Skrillex then? I only heard talking about the twins staying with Su.

Bolin: Avatar Korra sends her regards.

Wait what.

I'm not sure why you assume the spirits have no reason or sense for wanting to help Korra. If anything, the default way of thinking is to help others, I see no reason why that wouldn't apply to spirits like it does to humans.

So you already forgot what the default MO of the spirits during pre-avatar Wan era?

Spirits were never benevolent and typically saw humans as something to bully around if not outright kill.

The rare exception were the Turtle Lions who pretty much prevented humans from getting wiped out during their pre-Avatar years.

Honestly it's pretty bizarre that their doesn't exist any notable mythology about the Turtle Lions even if it was embellished through oral history.

He's Suyin's wildcard bitches
If the trailers are any indicator we should maybe see what happened to Suyin and the rest of her kids in the next couple of episodes or so. As we've already seen quite a large portion of what made up the Book 4 trailer.

Thought on episode two ending
with toph back and this potentially being the final book in the avatars universe, think she'll spill the beans on who her babies daddy's finally are?

I feel that Su might be Sokka's child, just because she and her kids have darker skin compared to Lin and Toph.

Someone posted a muppet video a while ago, I thought it was just a fan made parody, turns out it's in S1's bluray, I was like "whaaaat".
Great. Game of Thrones references.

Why should I watch the show when the Internet can just tell me the whole plot? :p
They all died.

The Air Bender Lion Turtle Island got along great with Spirits. But the Fire Bender Island didn't. Treat spirits differently and get different results.

At any rate, the spirits clearly had empathy towards each other, the issue was just distrust towards humans for encroaching on their lands and treating spirits poorly (just as inter-human groups may not treat each other kindly). They had an conscious reason to dislike certain humans or groups, it wasn't just a baseline lack of emotion or opinion. And Wan and the Air Bender island pretty easily neutralized it by showing empathy towards them as well, so it's not like the gulf between the two societies was super huge in the first place. The rich people in Wan's town didn't really care about the poor, but we wouldn't say it was because they lacked the capacity for empathy.

Conflict between spirits and humans escalated after they started leaving the Lion Turtles and building their own villages in the Spirit's territory. It's not that spirits didn't have emotions (I think that's what allowed Vaatu to 'posses' them too iirc), it's that they had mad beef with humans. It seems to have been mostly resolved by Korra's time as they didn't rush out of the spirit portals looking for vengeance. You still have spirits that fit the traditional 'removed and above-it-all' characteristics, spirit vines basically grew where they wanted and you just gotta deal with it.

I agree with Veelk that this basically makes them much less 'spirits' and more 'weird but intelligent human-like creatures', so the difference between the two groups simply parallels traditional strife between human groupings in a way that doesn't really add anything. "If we find a way to overcome our differences, we can all get along". Kinda covered that already with human-to-human relationships, so why do it again with spirits too? But they did. And the spirits at least have a long history with the Avatar that isn't present with normal humans.

Korra is just a big disappointment when compared to the original series. The writing has been poorer and it sometimes feels like stuff hasn't been well thought out. Doesn't help that Nicklodeon seems disinterested in it as well.

I blame nick for a lot of the issues tbh. It'd be SO much better if they allowed them a 3-4 season, 20+ episode per season format from the start like TLA.
