PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Long? Son that list is just the tip of the iceburg.

How's the PSP Ape Escape game though compared to the OG PSX?

I know XD! Have at least a ten page Word doc of all the Vita/Vita-Compatible games I have :D.

The PSP Remake of the PS1 game is solid :). Due to the PSP not having a right stick, many of the commands are mapped to the face buttons (with X being used to jump now). The camera was horrid on PSP (as it was mapped to the D-Pad....you can see how bad that is for a 3D Platformer X(), but thanks to the Vita's right stick, it plays perfectly on Vita (as you can map the D-Pad to the right stick :D).

The visuals are Dreamcast-level improved and the OST is still as great as the original :).

Heard amazing things about the original and while I never played the PS1/PS2 games (wish they would put them on PSN :(), I really like the PSP game :).

Edit: Cool top of the page :D.

Everyone get Pix the Cat, Dust PS4, Spulunky, Sword Art Online Hallow Fragment and Dragnarpoma 2 :D.

Thanks, guys! :D I'm gonna be stuck with the Borderlands 2 bundle 8GB memory card for a while, but I'll make it work. And yeah, I've got a ton of Vita stuff just waiting to be played thanks to PS+. :D I'd have P4G if not for GS being sold out, but I got Ys, so that's a suitable substitute for now I think.

Glad to finally be part of VitaGAF!

Since November is right around the corner, you will have the chance at picking up a 32GB card for the cheap hopefully :); I got mind thanks to a Christmas sale at GameStop last year.

As for P4G, the game is almost always on sale, so you will get the chance to get it again :). If you enjoy that, I strongly suggest you also get P3P. Yes, it may not look as good as P4G, but it has a great story, gameplay lifted out of the original P4 (meaning, it plays better then the original P3) and a cast of characters that are wonderful (hell, I am willing to argue they are better then the P4 cast).

I had my tonsils out a few years ago, too.

Not sure of the reason for you having yours taken out, but mine was due to repeatedly catching tonsillitis (like every 3-4 months without fail).

Haven't really gotten ill since having them out. It's like a night and day difference. Best thing to happen to me in a long time. So if it's the same for you, then you just have to think that the long term benefit outweighs the short term pain (and tonsillitis is one of those things where I don't think people understand how freaking annoying it is unless you actually have it).

Get well soon. Can't remember exactly what I liked eating just after I had mine removed, but I seem to remember toast; ice cream and apple juice were all easy enough to swallow (not together :P)

So far, only ice cream and chocolate milk. I got mine taken for another reason, but I just had to, or else it'd have gotten worse. Thanks for the tips!

I have The Oath in Felghana. I think I got stuck somewhere and just. Quit, lol.

That's one of the best Ys games. Use a FAQ if you have to, but do yourself a favor and finish it.

Okay I'm starting to think this last patch messed with my 64gb memory card or something. Final Fantasy X-2 crashes, BlazBlue matches don't load, Persona 2 EP stutters and Borderlands 2 is fine? I'm realm confused and frustrated.

I've rebuilt the database, redownloaded the games, and played in Airplane mode.

I'm going to submit a support a ticket but I don't how they can help me considering I imported a memory card.

Not sure about the shield or screen protector, but the case is awesome. It's slim and durable. Fits in the back pockets of some of my pants and the outside compartment on my backpack. It only holds the Vita though, no room for games or extra memory cards.

Yeah, for the price it seems pretty good.

Now, how worried should I be about getting my screen scratch-y between now and whenever the Hori stuff arrives? What's the best way to go about cleaning it, if I need to (which I will before attempting and then failing to apply the screen protector properly)? Part of me just kinda wants to not use the Vita at all until the protector and stuff gets here. :lol

Dumb question guys but I just did a digital pre-order for TEW on PS4. I purchased it directly with a credit card. So does that still count towards the $15 bonus credit if I spend $100 promotion?

The way the promotion is worded it made me think it only counts if it used your "PSN wallet" which made me think that I have to add funds to my psn wallet and then purchase it.

All money spent on the store automatically travels through the wallet, be it credit card, paypal, whatever. You're good.

I ordered a set of three screen protectors alongside my Vita (about five days ago), but failed with each one. So for the past days I've been using it without protection. For storage/transport, I used the sleeve that held the Vita in its packaging. Still in perfect condition. I used some lens cleaner and a cloth to wipe the screen. Just be smart, don't carry it loose in your pocket or anything careless like that.

The replacement set of protectors arrived today. Didn't fail.

PSA: ONLY PLAY DANGANRONPA 2 IF YOU'VE PLAYED THE FIRST GAME.

I can't emphasize this enough.

Well, I only recommend it due to everyone on gaf saying the game is great :D. Don't own it yet sadly :( (gotta get the original with the sequel sometime this winter....).

I bought my Vita back in June and failed pretty hard at installing a few screen protectors toward the end of July. Still bare and still no scratches. *knock on wood. YMMV

I stay away from tap tap swipe titles and only wipe the screen clean once a week with a cleaning pad after blowing away dust with compressed air. And even that might be a bit extreme. The Vita's screen is pretty tough.

It's nice that you are being extra careful, but I bought my OLED model at launch, I've traveled with it and all, with no screen protection or anything, I give it regular use and I have no visible scratches whatsoever. I am careful with all my electronics, but The Vita is pretty sturdy.

This might be a dumb question, but I recently had to restore my Ps3 to default settings because it was acting real funky and that seemed to fix it. But when I got back in (I wasn't connected to the internet at the time), it seemed like my saves were gone. Just now I connected it online for the first time since the reset and it seems like my saves are back. Granted I had to re-register my login info to link my PSN account to the Ps3, so I'm assuming that's what brought my saves back? I'm not sure exactly where the data is being pulled from. I thought the reset cleared everything out, but I'm glad it didn't.

Oh wow, so it's actually a decent remake? I might go for it then, though I did really like the dual stick mechanic from the PS1 title.

Will prob. get it during the promo, it is $8.

There is no substitute for P4G. Game is a masterpiece.

Don't be dissin' the Ys games, they been around longer and entertaining those privileged enough to play it, long before Persona got popular.

I don't know where else to put this and it doesn't warrant its own thread, but I turned my Vita on for the first time in probably a month yesterday, and it still had a full charge. So cool. :)

id rather play though muramasa again

Oboro Muramasa 2:
Jiraiya
<--- DLC spoilers

Pls, Vanillaware. Not another DC... ;__;

That reminds me... How's Grim Grimoire? (Which IIRC is an RPG).

I remember seeing people associating it with yuri.

So true! I agree with you in this idea. DC was quite confusing to play for me. The screen can get easily cluttered with all the things happening at the same time. The art is good yes, but I'm just easily confused to play it. I'm sorry Vitabros.

That still boggles my mind. I remember suspended the game, then got swamped with work for a whole week and when I turned my Vita on again, it's still at the state when I turned it off, with full battery. Shit was magic.

It was only ever scheduled for 2015 as far as I know.

One of my most anticipated games for Vita really. Looked absolutely beautiful from that trailer (song choice was stellar too).

I asked about Drifter recently in the Vita upcoming games thread (which is kept up brilliantly). Apparently no news since May. A portable Privateer makes me giddy just thinking about it.

Is anyone else unreasonably excited about the Formerly-Known-As-Vita-TV? I mean, it's not like I can't already play Vita games (dat OLED). But now I can use a TV! And a DualShock 4, which has become my go-to controller on all platforms now...

Hoping for at least the limit on world size to be lifted

I believe it's limited by RAM with regards to large maps and multiplayer, so it'll never be completely lifted on consoles. The only reason they let you "go big" on PC is because the RAM is exponentially more expandable.

PS4 map size is 36x the size of the allowed maps in PSVita and PS3 version, due to RAM.
