PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

beat with a stick.

EDIT -

So my wife co-opted my PSTV because she'd been planning on getting it for me as a gift for the holidays. I guess I'm okay with that? Certainly eases my gaming budget, but I really wanted to try it out.

Almost finished Natural Doctrine. I stand by my initial glowing reviews for anyone who wants a tactical strategy game.

Anyone getting the "In Space We Brawl" game that's out this week (Oct 15 on PS3/PS4 in Europe)?

Local multiplayer twin stick...certainly sounds cool..

Man, I saw that screenshot over on the PS Blog and I had to do a double take because I thought of Galak-Z for a moment. Really sad that still has no firm release date.

That 400k includes PSN figures. The game hasn't hit 300k in Japan, so that leaves over 100k for Hong Kong/rest of Asia? I doubt that's possible.

This number comes from Bandai Namco and not a third party tracker. They know how much it has sold.

I see. 100k is very possible though. The anime pretty famous in Asia. Anecdotal but it's all I see in my Vita page newsfeed.

Life and Hometown baby. Shame I can't buy it on day one. Wallet hurt from my SRWZ3 purchase. Will purchase later.

Peggle 2 is up for $11.99 ( not bad for a game with a plat)

Do you guys think I'm good to pay for it or do you think a PS + discount will be added when store fully updates? Thanks.

Wait. Always wait.
If this gets a $2 discount for PS+ I might grab it along with SK:SV since I'm getting a $50 card anyway.

That isn't Toukiden Kiwami. :(

I almost got fooled by the way he wrote it and now am sad.

I swear, this month is so jam packed with stuff, that I'll reach the $100 quota before even renewing my PS+.

Too bad the promo doesn't stack, like it used to.

I know :(

I played Galak-Z at PAX East last year...game was damn impressive. They had told me it would be out in 2014, but haven't really kept up with them since then so it may have changed.

Any deals/discount this week? Planning on getting the Jak and Daxter Collection for Vita and Ratchet Into the Nexus on my way to work, but would prefer them digitally.

Store is updating early today.
Sigh wish games I WANT go on sale =_=

Yeah I really want Ultra Street Fighter 4 to go on sale. Awhile back I had SSFIV and downloaded the Arcade Edition DLC. However my PS3 can no longer read discs and SSFIV is not available for download on PSN. I can't really justify spending another $40 on the game. Although I'm getting real close, that itch needs to be scratched.

Played Minecraft for a few minutes. Runs really smooth. No complaints at all. It's basically the PS3 version with a slightly lower draw distance.

But this version is much sexier;

It's a double edged sword. Sexier? Yes. Dangerous to have out in the wild? YES. I went with the digital download too, I have the JP physical copy already. Hope to get around playing it today after studying

I agree, but my copy won't be here until Thursday. D:
I'm in the same boat...Thursday. I was holding out on MC till Friday...but I may just snatch it up in the meantime to hold me over. I recently went through the tutorial on PS4 for the first time, and still kind of have that itch for more.

I hate how PS Now won't let me stream games I already own on PS3 :/

Are people as vocal about this "problem" on the Nintendo side.

Does owning a dvd/blueray movie mean that you'll automatically get it for free through streaming apps?

Edit: The people that thought that Sony bought gaikai for 280M $ just so they would be able to give games to their customers for free are having their heads in the cloud IMO ;)

Let me know how it plays, getting when I get home

Just messed around to get the trophies. All new trophy list compared to Ps4 and ps3 versions. The only problem so far is when you destroy a block it kinda hangs for a second and then disappears. Otherwise, seems like same old console minecraft.

All the same ps4 dlc is available but it doesn't look like it's cross buy with either the ps3 or ps4 versions of the dlc. Can't confirm right now.

DLC is cross-buy. The ones I own are marked as free on the Vita version.

Unless it's a kid looking over my shoulder (unlikely, I'm 6 foot) I couldn't care less if someone saw me playing it in public.

I rep the otaku hard in the West, someone has to. =P

No no no no no. PS Now should have been integrated as an "added value" service to the existing ecosystem. Owning a PS3 game should get you access to both the native thing on PS3, and unlimited access to it on PS Now. That's it. Their current "rental" bullshit is broken and stupid. They are wasting PS Now on what could have been the true solution to ensuring universal backwards compatibility for people's purchased content.

But profit margins!!!
I agree that would be better

Yeah. It could potentially their answer for backwards compatibility and urge people to move on with their PS3. Instead the rental bullshit actually makes me glad I'm keeping my PS3.

I know Sony doesn't have the finance to go with such thing, but still...

That's... pie in the sky. You paid $X for a license to download and run your game on your ps3. We didn't pay to infinitely stream it. Consider a game like any JRPG or SRPG (or any game, period, really) that people bought on flash sale, bought used, or got through ps+.. now you have people putting 100 hours into it streaming free off their servers? Never, ever, going to happen. It's not a viable business model.

Besides, they are not trying to solve the BC issue for the small % of people that actually care about it but don't have older systems. They are trying to make a service that appeals to people that don't own the core systems. They'll almost certainly put in ps1 and ps2 classic emu on the ps4 at some point. PS3 bc will always and forever be psnow because of Cell, and the vita won't get native ps2 emu because it's not powerful enough (so PSnow is the only viable way).

The idea that they should allow us to stream via PSNow for free if we already own a game via other methods is crazy talk, imo. It's a financial black hole of an idea. Demanding it of them, and acting like they're doing something wrong by not allowing it, is ridiculous -- it's asking the impossible of them, then getting mad they didn't do it.
