Fighting Games Weekly | Oct 13-19 | The World Ends Ryu

1080 is better but 720 and $60 is just fine for a game people won't give a shit about in 3 months, same as every other ASW game of the modern era.

GG Xrd PS+ JP demo almost up.

There's a 14 day free trial on PSN right now, but I'm not sure if you have to enter credit card information. I'll find out in 2 hours.

It's 5am in Japan right now, usually the store updates are between 10am and 2pm.

I don't think I have enough room for more fight sticks. I have two TEs (one 360, one PS3) and they're fucking huge. Takes up so much space.

How do you do it, Markman?

People on dustloop were saying JP PSN normally updates around 4-5 PM EST.

I'll tell you right now that all EXVS DLC has went up around 9-10 PM EST. So I think you should be conservative or less hopeful with your expectations of how soon this will show up on PSN.

hehe, I got what Laconic was getting at. 1080 is better, but adding all the costs up at this moment in time, 720 is fine. I think, haha.

But we are going to have move on at some point anyways, especially for MKX. Might as well get the PS4s now, so Xrd can look awesome and be ready for MKX.

People would have to get new sticks and all that, but, well. I guess that's how things work. I bet madcatz and Hori will be happy ;)
Or release Xrd on PC.

Do you guys think the popular fighting games of today will still look good in 10 years? Polygonal games of 2004 don't look so hot today, but I feel like UMVC3 and USFIV will always look good. Most of the 2D Capcom games from the 90's still look great, but that's a lot easier with 2D art.

I bug Yamanaka_ARC on twitter occasionally so he doesn't forget. :P
That and Persona 5 are pretty much the only games I'd get on PS4 and they're both on PS3. Slow start for those consoles is good for me though, I want to avoid this console generation if I can.

SF4, MvC3, KOF13, Xrd will look good at least. And probably many others actually. It's a bit like how SNES grade 2d graphics look ok even today because they're above a certain threshold of quality.

They hit a brick wall. The board would communicate with the PS4 at first then fail.

Basically, they have PS4 compatibility done. Apart from the fact that Sony apparently requires repeated authentication over Bluetooth from high poll rate devices. The auth is always over BT even if the device itself is wired.

So they are gonna buy new PCs instead of PS4s? They still paying for new equipment.

Good for the players without having to buy new equipment of course.

A decent number of people on Gaf have gaming grade PCs/Laptops. Plus it means I won't have to buy a new stick/mod it!

I'm really hoping that this works out, but that would be too optimistic wouldn't it?

I was referring to TOs and updating their equipment for new games. Would Big E or Shin want to buy PCs or PS4s as the upgrade route if they move off PS3s for some games.
