PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

While Conception 2 and Mind Zero aren't great dungeon crawlers, Demon Gaze is fantastic, it seems a bit harsh to lump it in with them. The summoned party member mechanics and the loot gems are nice original ideas that push forward the genre, and it often gets listed as a highlight of the library on here, unlike the other two.

Otherwise, Ys: Memories of Celceta is my favourite native Vita game so far. I've also enjoyed FFX-HD, Muramasa and Child of Light.

I kinda enjoyed Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, but it really isn't for everyone, and isn't a patch on Monster Hunter either. Very much a 'commute fodder' kinda game for me.

As far as indie games go, Velocity 2x. Rogue Legacy, The Swapper, Guacamelee! and Don't Starve are probably my picks so far.

I dunno but the best non-port Vita game (that the West hasn't received yet in English) is Danganronpa.

Danganronpa is like my new AA.

What are some games I should pick up? I played the Toukiden and Soul Sacrifice demos. SS seems interesting, but I couldn't get into it. I liked Toukiden more, mostly because it's obviously ripping off Monster Hunter. More importantly, what shouldn't I buy? Conception II, Mind Zero, and Demon Gaze all look interesting, but have negative/mixed reviews.

I own the following: P4G, Dragon's Crown, Spelunky, Hotline Miami, Pix the Cat, and Rainbow Moon.

I don't know about the negative reviews of Demon Gaze. Rarely I heard anyone on GAF says bad thing about the game. Conception 2, well, not so much. Better spending your money for something else. Mind Zero is the one I would say have mixed reviews. Some love it, some hate it.

Also, don't buy Toukiden if you can wait, since the upgraded version will be out next year in English.

Got Dragon's Crown in the mail today, along with my 64GB memory card.

I won't lie, I'm sort of disappointed because there is some slowdown in Dragon's Crown when a lot is going on. However, I also realized I can use my PS3 saves, so that's pretty awesome. Either way, it's still a gorgeous game with great gameplay and an amazing soundtrack.

Demon Gaze isn't bad at all, not sure how it got lumped in with Conception and Mind Zero. Its genre is inherently not for everyone but if you like DRPGs it's a great game and if you're new to DRPGs, it's a good place to start.

Well based on this, the JP ver. of Vib Ribbon showed you which button to press on which obstacle

Ahaha. What don't you like about PS Now? Did you try it or just aren't big on the concept? I'm curious how good it is since the vita wifi isn't the best in the world.

I'm just meh right now... reading annoying things about PS TV's media app support, how Netflix has no plans to support and it would be on Sony to handle their own app again... even though I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, I'm getting the negative feels. This would be my TV box, if it had it's act together.

My first impression of PS Now beta was getting a look at the selection of games and being like eh... I just happen to be playing GoW Collection on Vita (first time revisiting those games since 2007), and I'm in the mood for GoW. I hated the demo for Ascension so I never bothered to play it... I might rent it when I'm finished with 1 & 2 again, but I kinda don't even want to spend $8 on it this month lol

I was hoping for Last of Us, since that's something I need to play and never got to.

Then I saw MGS4 on there, teasing me, saying disc-only, and went on reddit reading how it got pulled from PS4's PS Now too... something to do with the analog buttons.

Sony is preparing for the announcement of Wild Arms 6.

Do it Sony.

Media Vision are still a thing. They're still working for multiple publishers making very good JRPG's.

3 was my favourite, 5 my second favourite. I was sad we never got anything else after that.

behind all that fanservice is a really good action game.
Action as in Dynasty Warriors, or Bayonetta? If it's similar to Bayonetta, I may have to ignore the ridiculous looking fan service (funny, because on surface level I'm sure some would say Bayonetta is just as bad), since I've been hoping for a DMC like game on Vita.

If its Dynasty Warriors like, I'll pass. Unless its super good, it won't really hold my interest.

If anyone could let me know, that'd be appreciated, thank you.

On sale for the first time ever! Buy these.

GAF I just had a brainstorm:
JP PS Store App
EU PS Store App
Apps for other PS Stores, on the Vita...

Err, that's the tutorial, pretty sure.

Yup I know that, but with a little guiding and memory, one can still take on the tutorial then jump into the game without having to worry about what to press at each obstacle.

From what I've seen, it's closer to DW, but not as free-roaming. You have to defeat all enemies in an area and then move on. Similar to old-school 2D fighting games such as Streets of Rage and Golden Axe, but 3D and with more depth to the combat. Nowhere near Bayonetta.

NA store's sale has been kinda boring quite lately...

I don't know. You could take a look for yourself, since I don't like Bayonetta.

And if people in the OT are in any indication, it's hard.

Nothing for me on this Weeks Sale. Probably better that way, now i can finish some Games. Also bought EDF 2017, it's fun. The Series just got a new Fan.

Miku is on sale in the UK?
THEY LIED, I was told they would never go on sale.
Will end up double dipping on Diva F Vita if it gets the same sale in the US.
Would platinum again.

Interesting. I wonder if they've added an alternative method to 'rub'. I think Vita players would appreciate that.

Not played it myself yet, but I'm not looking forward to that particular mechanic.

Can you use the DS4 with VitaTV? The Touchthingie would work i guess.

So in for Project Diva on the PS3... Will Platinum again, perhaps this time in 3D!!!

It's the prefect lead into the November sequel!

Just googled it. I do like rhythm games but the character design in this one is pretty dreadful (and seemingly not restricted to just the menus) and £14.99 isn't quite "try it anyway" price for me.
Character designs don't really matter much in rhythm games since you probably won't be paying attention to them while playing. It's usually the Vocaloid music that turns off some people.

So how was the Telltale The Walking Dead game on Vita? Saw Season 1 for super cheap at NY Walmart and was wondering how people felt about it. I played it on Steam originally, got all the way to the chapter with the dairy farm and for some reason I just lost interest in it and never went back to finish it. I definitely I wouldn't mind replaying it on the Vita as I'd like to finish it and then play Season 2, but I'm curious as to how it plays on our beloved system.

Playable, at least for me. I'm not demanding, I got through the game just fine.

I loved the walking dead's story - it really drew me in and genuinely affected me emotionally but the game definitely has some performance issues.

I've only played it on vita so I didn't really know if the stuttering, lagging and sound issues are any worse on vita than anywhere else but they're definitely there.

For the record: I'm not a frame rate guy by any stretch of the imagination (I find borderlands playable on the vita!) so I was able to get past it with no worries.
