Are people complaining about the price? The value is there when you compare it vs the 6+

Barebones 6+ is at least $750 with 16gb vs N6 barebones $650 32gb + .5 inches of screen real estate. To me, that's pretty amazing

It's still a pretty great price for a phone of this stature though. Only when you compare other Nexus phones to their price points is it disappointing.

My N5's screen and back camera are cracked, so I was pretty set on replacing it with the N6, 6-inch screen be damned. But at 650$ (probably more for us Canadians), I guess I'll stick with my broken N5 lol.

googy pls

When you are a Nexus owner... that's the only comparison that matters.

At that point 100 dollars isn't enough difference to matter.

With the Nexus 5 it was a 400+ dollar difference. It's normal that people don't like this price.

Same thing with the tablet. For 400 dollars I can just buy an Ipad Mini.

Part of the Nexus appeal was the price, no doubt about that.

Uh, was looking forward to upgrading my Nexus 4 but that price is giving me second thoughts. I'll at least look at the competition now

No Nexus 7 refresh? My mom is in the market for a new tablet was thinking about getting her the 7. The 9 is just a tad too big.

Is that a game in the Nexus 6 promo picture or a wallpaper?

If you mean this one:

A game, Monument Valley. It's short, but excellent.

I even have a microsd wifi thinggie http://www.sandisk.com/products/wireless/flash-drive/ but 128gb would be the absolute minimum for me to even consider buying it, I think I have more than that in apps. 16gb for a 9 inch tablet in 2014 is insulting.

That's an absurd number of apps. I got a dongle and 64gb thumbdrive to use on my OG Nexus 7 so I could carry around HD movies and shows and some emulator games. That was more than enough for me and something I only use on occasion. 16GB was more than enough for the apps I wanted on my device and then plenty of extra storage for things my comics/manga and what not.

Yup, I guess Google wants to do premium products under the Nexus brand now. Don't know how well that's going to work for them after they've trained people to expect low pricing with this line.

I was all onboard. Not anymore. Not sure why I'd bother with this over an Apple or Samsung for roughly the same price.

"I don't like this price, so I'm gonna get a phone that's just as expensive but with a much worse software experience instead."

Makes sense.

The only reason the Nexus line has been successful is because of its value relative to its competitors. Its pricing is what started this no contract revolution. With out it it fades into the background.

What's gonna suck is if the N9 benchmarks pan out to be true like everyone with half a brain thinks they will then we are fucked in 2015 because at least in West the slate of phones will be using the already laid out Qualcomm road map unless you go with Apple since they figured this logic problem out fucking years ago.

Nvidia seems to be on the same page now too. We just need Qualcomm to get the memo that fucking quad or even the 2 quad setup is dumbtastic.

Fuck it, even at $650 I'm in. The phone looks pretty awesome. Just trying to decide if in going to sell my Nexus 5 and/or OnePlus One.

Ehhh, fading into the background is kind of hyperbole. Nexus 5 is still there. And I'm sure they won't abandon the "cheaper" line of phones after the demand for them. Bertram is probably right when he said it's gonna get a refresh this Spring. Fall is also a better time to introduce a more premium phone like this, just in time for the holidays.

I was banking on a new Nexus phone, because of the Nexus 5's price, but now I'd rather not. I'm going all in with the Z3 on T-Mobile. Sorry, Google.

I like having most of my apps installed, a few movies, books, series, etc... Obviously I don't expect my 128/256gb of usage to be the most common but 16gb seems really low even for "normal" people. At least give us the option of higher memories.

I'm actually really excited to go from my Note 2 to Nexus 6. I was hoping to buy it on Play Store but not at that price. Oh well, I'll just get it at AT&T next month when my contract ends.

I can't wait to whip it out in front of people~

16 GB min is ridiculous. 399 is ridiculous. Google just lost a lot of goodwill, I was a huge fan of the Nexus 7 and used it for two years, this could've been my next tablet. Now it's gonna be a Surface Pro 3.

what is with all the people comparing the nexus 9 to the 7? the 9 is replacing the 10. and they're phasing the 7 out.

the 7 is a horrible piece of crap. the only thing it had going for it was it's price. had the nand go in mine 3 times. good riddance

Fuuuck i need them to do with the Note 4

I often think about it, but the Note is a powerful beast because of its productivity features - and even though I don't like TouchWiz myself, those are pretty much embedded in its roots. The Note is not just a big ass phone. If you're looking for that, there's the Nexus 6.

I just want the stylus for sketching

$499, which is why I called in the other threads that there was no chance in hell that the Nexus 6 would be cheaper than $499.

This is nonsense. Motorola (the device manufacturer) isn't owned by Google anymore. Why would you expect the Moto X to be sold at near cost like the Nexus line?

I think the price matters less if you're someone like me that uses JUMP on T-Mobile so you just pay a smaller increase in your fee monthly. It'll just take longer to pay off half of it for a new upgrade (a year or so).

$399 for the most advance tech device on the planet android wise is hardly highway robbery. Problem is people don't understand the fucking tech marvel the N9 is hardware wise. Shit is off the fucking chain.

I get that the N6 is crazy high, but for fucks sake the N9 isn't over priced other than the storage bs.
