Pockett is reporting that there's a good chance that Geometry Wars 3 will be ported to iOS, Android and PS Vita: http://www.pockett.net/n24637_PS_Vita_Geometry_Wars3_sur_PS_Vita_iPhone_iPad_et_Android_probablement

WOAH

It's the best platformer of the last generation and nothing like it has come out since then. At $2.25, I think even people who disagree with me would say it's at least worth a shot.

I still have a retail copy somewhere. Damn. I have too many unplayed games...

I've added a Twitter column to the PSNGAF friend list. Also, is the "Games You Play" column really necessary if most people will probably never update their list?

Quote to see link. I'll also hide it behind email tags in next month's OP.

Playing Darksiders II on PS Now. Amazing experience. Some hiccups here and there but overall smooth. Looks very nice on the smaller Vita screen.

I totally missed that we got a new List. Added myself.

I don't have full proficiency as well, but I'm willing to suffer through iphone kanji dictionaries and online guides to play the Kiseki games than waiting for XSEED breadcrumbs.

Good luck, you learn a lot of new kanjis and vocabulary as you play it, that is if you look up new words and grammar. Be warned that they are incredible story-driven, but I guess you already know that.

I have another week off, while feeling better to play games. I need that one game that'll get my attention and make the most out of my free time, but I'm just not finding it.

Well I found Ys Seven's graphics to be really good, and Celcta's just seems to me like Seven's but more 'smoother' on the models.

YS7 was good looking but far from the best looking PSP game, YS Celceta could have been in the same situation if native res without blur(or better blur) but with very subnative res, blurry graphics and bad framerate, the result is extremely different, i mean in towns it even looks good because the camera is usually closer and there are detailed elements like houses, streets etc, but out of towns, especially if the camera is far, what you see is mostly a blurry muddy background with undefined things moving on it.

The blur definitely uses some hardware power, removing it in favor of slightly higher resolution or textures would have been 1000x better.

Have you played Virtues Last Reward already? Could the one Game you're looking for :P

They're also saying a super hero themed Sponge Bob game is in development for 3DS and Vita: http://www.pockett.net//n24636_Nintendo_3DS_Sponge_Bob_reviendra_sur_Nintendo_3DS_et_PS_Vita Because it's an Activision licensed game, it'll probably be poop, but it's cool to see SCE at least try to get some kid software.

Pockett probably isn't well known to most people on this forum, but I've been reading their site for a few years now. They're pretty reliable.

suddenly activision returns to the forsaken handheld
I was surprised it wasn't on the Vita from the start.

It's clear that the game was made for the psp, but Falcom scrapped it and released it for the Vita instead while doing very little to optimize it for the system. It's one of the most blurry games on the Vita indeed, but it certainly is great to play, which is something I value over graphics.

In fact i was criticizing only the graphics ;)

Also, what Shoot'em-ups/Shmups do you guys have on your Vita?
ATM I got installed:
ZANAC X ZANAC
Super Star Soldier
Sonic Wings PSX Classic
Sine Mora
Flying Hamster HD
WINDS OF THUNDER (on my JP Memory Card)
Gate of Thunder (on my JP Memory Card)
Gradius Collection
Striker 1945 Plus
Cho Aniki Zero
Aqua Kitty
Floating God HD
Last Resort (on SNK Collection Vol.1 PSP)
Nice lists, will give me some ideas. I love me some shmups & bullet hells, but I haven't found much I like for Vita. I currently have:
Super Stardust Delta
Everyday Shooter
Big Sky Infinity
TxK

I know I don't have a ton, but like I said I didn't know much else out there. I tried Sine Moria. Several times. I could never get in to it. I like the presentation, but the gameplay is such a slog, and the weapons I feel were vastly underwhelming. I will be looking into some of the ones on your all lists...I've been meaning to check out Flying Hamster for quite some time. Very happy for Soldner coming out soonish...eventually...

I *do* have one of the greatest games though, on my phone. DoDonPachi R. I always can go back to that, and lose myself in the mayhem :D

All of your games are listed as unfinished.

If you haven't completed it yet, join me in my quest to find Tidus' daddy.

I have an issue with "finished", since I have different opinions on that term. Still, I should at least mark the ones I have platinum trophy and all. I don't know how I should label them, though. Mastered? Completed?

I finished FFX HD earlier this year, but just the story, no post-game content.

does it need to be a game for a sony platform? I see you haven't played Ghost Trick, do that ASAP! playing it currently and the game is incredible. music, visuals, story, mechanics everything is perfect!

It doesn't. I'm leaning towards finishing SKB, but I just started Hebijo, so we'll see. I don't have Ghost Trick and I can't afford games if I want to get Bayonetta 2 this month.

If you got through Hanzo without getting bored you will surely enjoy Hebijo. Better story, better movesets and surely the better half of the game.

i DISLIKe Bullet Hell for the most part ^^;

Hey VitaGAF Been craving grips for the vita as playing it for long has started to hurt.

Cannot find the hori grips anywhere T.T.

I am liking these. Is anyone using these? The seller is asking for $14. Is the price ok?
15565775782_acbd84995a_o.jpg

Or should I go with PDP trigger grips?

Got persona 4 golden last night. Seriously awesome game so far (2 hrs in). Chie is walking a fine line between endearing and annoying.

Imo Konami is not sure of how much YGO can do on Vita, so making a PSP game is a cheap way to test the waters and to eventually fund a Vita game, if the game will sell well we'll get a full Vita game.

If it's anything like the 3DS game, they can keep their Yu-gi-oh games. Have they said if this one is actually going to include multiplayer? I seriously hope they add it this time.

Definitely
annoying.
Yeah... she kinda is. I'm really not too enthused by the voice actor either. Maybe she'll grow on me, who knows.
I don't have access to a computer at this time so I can't add myself to the psn gaf list. Dunno if someone could do me a solid and add me on there (PM me I guess?). If not yall can just add me as a friend, PSN: rubricmarine

Is anyone getting Legend of Korra? I'm thinking about buying it but haven't watched anything from it, so i'm not sure if i will enjoy it without knowing what's going on. Out next week btw.

Maybe. First comes Bayonetta 2. If I finish both 1 and 2, I'll get Rising. If I still want more Platinum games, then I'll get it.

I only watched the first season and one episode of season four and.....it is okay :l. It has a very iffy start with the first two seasons fluctuating with there quality back and forth between great and horrid but from what other said, season three onward has been nothing but awesomeness :D. If anything, just watch season three and four (both are on the Nick website; they stopped airing it on TV for some reason.....), as the Platinum game takes place between S2 and S3.

The game is going to rock man :D! Platinum making a Avatar action game....what is not to love :). The only thing that upsets me about this is that I wanted them to have Aang as the main character and the story taking place in the original series; love the original series :')), but either way, this game is most likely one of the best licensed games this year (next to WD: Season 2, Wolf Among Us, and Shadow of Mortor).

Got my Hori Protective Starter Kit for my Vita Slim today.

Pictures (please ignore my reflection >.>):

The screen protector went on pretty easily, though there's a couple air bubbles that I'll probably just let work themselves out. Kinda don't like how it makes the touch screen feel, but it's worth the trade-off to keep the screen scratch-free. Wish it'd come with a cleaning cloth and one of those cards you use to push air bubbles out, but eh, it's fine. The armor shell thing is nice. Adds a bit of bulk to the system but doesn't really make any of the buttons harder to press or anything. I'll probably keep using it, at least until it annoys me. >.> The case is the real star of the set, though. It's super nice, fits the 2000 perfectly (though I imagine without the armor shell on, the Vita would have a little bit of room to move around), and overall is just really nice.

I'd definitely recommend this set. For what you get for the price ($11.99 + $5 shipping if you order it from Hori's site), it's extremely worth it.

It takes place after Season 2.
If anything, you can just skip the cutscenes and stick around for the Platinum gaming goodness.

Season 3 and 4 are amazing, 1 and 2 aren't that good.
Would've liked a more open game instead of the smaller one they're doing. I'll still get it to support more Avatar games though.

I don't really care if you remove it

I couldn't care less about that cartoon but I pre-ordered it, because Platinum.

If you want beat'em-ups, get the Capcom PSP collections. They got Captain Commando.

Also, what Shoot'em-ups/Shmups do you guys have on your Vita?
ATM I got installed:
ZANAC X ZANAC
Super Star Soldier
Sonic Wings PSX Classic
Sine Mora
Flying Hamster HD

People already mentioned some of the ones I really wanted to mention (TxK!!!!), but there are still a few I didn't see yet.

Some of these are more dual/twin stick shooters, but still scratch similar itches:
Luftrausers
Pixeljunk Shooter
Crimsonland
Dead Nation
MiniSquadron (psp mini, plays like Time Pilot with many different variant planes, my favorite mini)

I thought Knytt Underground was boring as shit. I gave that game way more of my time than it deserved. It's gotta get good soon, right? Wrong. Thankfully at the time the other PS Plus freebie on Vita that month was Big Sky Infinity so I still had something to entertain the shit out of me at the time.

Had the same experience. It feels like a slog to me.

WINDS OF THUNDER (on my JP Memory Card)
Gate of Thunder (on my JP Memory Card)
Gradius Collection
Striker 1945 Plus
Cho Aniki Zero
Aqua Kitty
Floating God HD
Last Resort (on SNK Collection Vol.1 PSP)

Quoting this one just to compile all named games in one post.

First, you should pick up crimsonland at some point. I think you'll really dig it. Not the prettiest game, but the gameplay is divine. It's got tons of content too, massive weapon diversity, tons of powerups and perks that change gameplay, challenge levels, score attack levels... it's just so well designed.

Second, I know you gave Sine Mora several chances, but someday give it one more. It's really good. I see your name on many of my high score lists and I think once it 'clicks' for you you'll see the light. Given you love schmups and bullethells, I just can't imagine not liking Sine Mora, getting good at it requires such zen like maneuvering/destruction, and the various unique gameplay twists really add a lot to the genre.

I'm at @infernal_monkey

I kind of tweet about onaholes sometimes though so (」゚ペ)」

And I thought the onahole thing was a joke...
Followed.

Followed some of you guys. I wouldn't mind if you removed the "Games you play" column.

I am not sure how many of you I have... I am at work so I'll have to browse through here to follow some of you. Meanwhile, here's mine, it's names2hard4you. I'll follow back anyone who follows me starting now, I will just assume that it's someone from here, if it's not clear :P

Yea...I have actually been watching videos of Crimsonland...and it does seem pretty interesting. Graphics don't make the game, so no problems there. The diversity and weapons you speak of were really what was drawing me in. It's reminding me of another similar game, but I can't think of it atm. It had a verrry similar feel to it, but I just can't remember the name for the life of me, I think it was on PC years ago...

Sine Moria was just so slow for me. The arcade levels took far too long. I don't think I cared for the bullet damage to enemy health ratio, either. I know there were other things, but the game didn't seem exciting to me. However, I will certainly give it another shot, at your urging. I've heard countless bits of praise for the game, here on from some of my friends that love shmups and the sort, but I never understood what they saw in the game.

I've blown through my weeks expenditure of "spendin money", so I'll likely pick up Crimsonland next week, but I'll certainly bump it near or to the top of my buy list. In the meantime I'll give Sine another shot. And then try to top some scores I have, if I'm feeling masochistic. Side note....Hell Divers looks bad ass, and I can't wait for that game.

I've also heard The Binding of Isaac is a twin stick "shooter" of sorts...can anyone elaborate?

Huh, 720p looks a lot better to me than 1080i for the Vita TV. Trying it out with SK Versus now. These guys left screenshots enabled but Monster Monpiece chickened out? Come on, IFI.

Interesting how the Vita TV is so clearly oriented towards families; even a "family fun" section in the store. Yes media apps are missing, but the store menu seems more geared towards simplicity and family friendly stuff. I'll bet that's why it's "classics" not "minis, PSP, PS1", I guess it's meant to be more of an entry level device. And the featured thing, though I loathe it very much, is definitely a "family" ""feature"".

Anyway, enjoying SK Versus much more than burst (2 levels in). I was super concerned because of the bad framerate/animation in home base, but oddly the actual game is far smoother. I appreciate the complete shamelessness of basically every part of the game

Battle Princess seems neat, great art style, fairly poor animation, but gameplay seems alright. Haven't gotten far into that either.

Same, I've been enjoying it so far. It feels like Muramasa, but instead of Kisuke and Momohime, you're playing as novice warriors. Love the art design, it's very farytail-ish.
