GungHo (Grasshoper Manufacture/Game Arts/Acquire) wants to bring its games on Steam

I'm wondering, what other titles can we reasonably expect ?
Also, what kind of pricing could we expect for Dokuro ? Something closer to iOS/Android or Vita ?

For any/all titles, each will depend on rights and licensing -- nothing too out of the ordinary. I am open to taking and gathering fan feedback to show support for any specific titles that you/GAF would like to see on Steam. But please note that rights and licensing is always a tricky and long process.

I cannot comment on pricing any time soon. We're focusing on the Greenlight process right now and hoping we get through.

Unless you're Disney

Or one of the much smaller publishers (or developers) that've shipped stuff since Steam opened the floodgates a week or two ago.

I'm not actually sure what the function of Greenlight is at this point, but I am happy to see another Japanese mega-pub giving Steam a go. Though I'm not sure the title they chose is the best way to gauge interest outside of the activist vote.

Good !
Well, let's hope the Greenlight process will go smoothly !
Also, it seems that Grandia IP is owned by Game Arts... so GungHo now ?

Hooray for monopoly.

Horray for people who have no idea what the word "monopoly means."

This is available on platform X is not at all the same thing as "this will only be on platform X." Seriously, is there a single game on Steam that is ONLY available on Steam and nowhere else (I mean not on consoles, or not on other storefronts, downloads, etc.)? If there is, I don't know of it.

Starting with this

Obviously I really want Killer 7, but I would love to play anything and everything Grasshopper on PC.

I would be eternally grateful if, somehow, magically, you can let Grasshopper know that there are people who would buy a port or remake of The Silver Case on PC.

and the only good Game Arts games are owned by other companies and will probably never be released on Steam.
Gamearts owns the majority of their own classic IPs. Grandia, Lunar, Gun Griffon, Silpheed, Thexder, Zeilard, Faria, etc. I also think most/all of them won't be released on Steam but not because of that.

It's easy:

Especially anything made by Suda.

I want a remastered Killer 7.

I'd want this just for subtitles. Throughout all my playthroughs of K7, I always had to turn up the sound to hilarious levels because my hearing isn't that great. Over time I just memorized the lines but subtitles would have helped :(

I'm just waiting for them to release Puzzle and Dragons on 3DS :/ The better version is out, and still nothing here, even though it was planned to be released in english :/

Any title you want to put on there, do it. I know rights can be tricky, but don't be afraid to put anything on because it might be too old/niche. Everything should be up for consideration

Especially Grasshopper games

Already own Dokuro on Vita but voted anyway. I really hope this leads to Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw getting PC releases.

Never played LC but SotD was so fucking good. A perfect blend of Suda's weirdness and Mikami's RE4 style of gameplay. Yamaoka's music was just icing on the cake. I was pretty surprised by how well these 3 things complemented each other so nicely.

I'd love to see Grandia, Tenchu, Lunar, Silpheed (especially Silpheed: The Lost Planet) on steam, along with anything Grasshopper that is at all possible. But like Zeyphersan and others have said, but anything and everything on there.
And while I'm at it, convince your bosses to have Acquire develop a new Tenchu. Anything, small-scale downloadable, episodic, 2D stealth, isometric, 3rd person, whatever it is for any console possible (though not iOS exclusive). :P

Killer7 is Capcom. No More Heroes is Marvelous. Shadows of the Damned is EA. Lollipop Chainsaw is Warner Bros.

Those are the guys people will probably have to pester for Grasshopper re-releases. I don't think GungHo is going to do much with Grasshopper's existing catalog. Killer Is Dead was probably easy because Kadokawa had most of the reigns on that.

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S GOOD AND HOLY, PLEASE PUT KILLER 7 ON STEAM SO I CAN BELIEVE THAT GOD IS REAL. ONE OF THE TOP FIVE BEST GAMES OF THAT GENERATION FINALLY AVAILABLE ON STEAM?!?!? Heaven would be smiling on me. Killer 7 should take precedence over Grasshopper BORE fests such as No Mo Heroes and Lollpop Chainsaw.

KILLER 7 NOW.

Wario64 use your clout to make this happen. You're still a K7 fan, no?!

Capcom probably owns it.

Why would they pick Dokuro as their test case game when puzzle/platformers are a dime a dozen (literally thanks to indie bundles) on Steam?

EDIT:
While I support more Japanese publishers releasing games on PC/Steam. I wish they would have stared off with something other than a 2D puzzle platformer, those are a dime a dozen.

I was beaten to this sentiment almost exactly, heh

By the way, Killer7 runs quite nicely in Dolphin, so you can easily emulate it if you want to see what it looks like in HD (hint: fantastic). There's practically nothing that could look better via an official port, as there's almost no textures to even re-render.

Because there is a phone version with controller support and it's extremely easy to port over. Hopefully they set their expectations accordingly, though, and put something a bit bolder once they're through the Greenlight gate.

Looking forward to it! Hopefully they'll bring over other titles soon and don't give up if Dokuro sells poorly (I personally doubt it'll sell that good).

If Grandia ever manages to come out, I'll be so happy.

Way of the Samurai 4 is already coming thanks to Ghostlight. All you dudes and dudettes are buying that for sure, right?

but yes, good news all around.

Always wary of these Japanse companies starting this stuff with like the one game very few people were asking for, it not selling, and them packing up. Dokuro is a solid game but not something with much of a reputation.

Thanks for the support! Putting our games on Greenlight is one of the initiatives I helped start when I joined the team last year, so I hope it goes well.

Is this only a Grashopper games thing? I could see PaD doing well. That X-men pad like game is on steam.

Question why can't I use my PaD account on multiple devices at once? They are worth a lot of money I'd like to be able to play it wherever.

Dokuro = Game Arts.

that's like everything

yikes. these guys don't have shit

Oh my god, fucking Way of the Samurai 4, and any subsequent release WOULD BE phenomenal. Hell, a collection of each game would be awesome.
