Game of the Month voting starts today! Please vote for one Vita/PS4/PS3 game that was released in the month of October. You have one of two options: either PM me on GAF (which I would prefer) or tweet/DM me on Twitter (@whoiszero). Format the PM as such:
Subject: PSN GotM - <insert game title here>
Body: (optional - brief comment on why should people play this game or why this game deserves to be GotM)
Any incorrectly formatted PMs may be ignored. Voting ends October 31. Good luck!

Pix the Cat is winning.

^^ Wow. Nice!

Ha, that's fucking cool man. Kudos!

If only VitaGAF had it's own thread.... Then this would be the VitaGAF Thread OT image o:

:D

I'm at about $52 for this month's promotion, but there's not much Vita stuff on sale atm. I'll most likely get Tekken 6 for some PSP nostalgia.

Q: Is Touch My Katamari heavy on the touch controls?
I have several Katamari games on consoles and if this is pretty similar to those I'll snag this one up too. Just don't want to be dependent on the touch screen.

And Persona 4 Golden is on sale yet again... I still feel like I should play and finish Persona 3 Portable first though before getting it.

For once I may get a full-priced title to hit that $100 mark. Of the handful of games I want, I may decide on Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus just because it's the newest game I want, therefore least likely to go on sale anytime soon. I really want Akiba's Trip and Danganronpa 2 but they've been out for some time so I feel before the end of the year either should go on some sort of sale.

I can still hope, right?? Are there no options at all to use the thumbsticks?

You can use the thumbsticks to move the katamari around like in the other games. You use the rear touchpad to stretch the katamari to make it tall and thin or short and wide to fit into areas it wouldn't be able to get into otherwise.

You can also use the rear touch pad for that, too. The game is completely playable without ever using the front touchscreen at all.

EDIT: Shit, ninja'd. :lol

HA! Touch THAT, Takao :P

So...

I'm a little mad Bamco didn't put the Vita version of One Piece UWR on sale like the PS3 version. :/

Totally agree. Been eyeing that game for awhile and saw the PS3 version on sale and was ecstatic. Started scrolling down and got to the end of the list and no Vita version. Vita continues getting the middle finger.

No. In dual stick mode all it does is squish/stretch the katamari, which is occasionally useful but I don't think it's ever necessary. As is typical in recent Katamari games, all levels are basically ripped straight from the first games or minor tweaks thereof. Not as much content as Katamari Forever by any means, but easily $5's worth

So I bought the Shinovi Versus costume DLC for $6, and now I only need just shy of $40 to hit $100, but can't decide what to buy. :/

Maybe I'll just add more money and get something big.

Oh cool, Tozai put out a Spelunker HD Ultimate Edition in today's store update. Wonderful - but very difficult - game.

How come we never got the Spelunker Vita game in North America?

$39.99 for shadow warrior?!? thats pretty high. anyone pick this up or impressions?

Pretty reasonable price IMO. Visually about on par with AAA games, gameplay-wise it's more varied and deep than a lot of shooters, and it's a particular brand of shooters that's pretty rare. It's like something ID or 3D Realms would have put out if you snatched 'em straight from the 90s and put them in front of some modern dev tools.

I'm guessing I should probably give Pix the Cat a try. Should I play the PS4 or Vita version?

PS4 version is prettier and there's basically no other differences. It's not cross save at all unfortunately so you're doomed to your choice.

hmm how's "Let's Fish! Hooked On"

I asked that earlier and never got an answer. =/

However, I think it's supposed to be...not great?

I got it last week but I'm afraid to play the game.

I have them all. I was under the impression it was ✘-buy.

Oh, it is, I just wanted to know so that I could make a recommendation. I think Race the Sun could be fun, but I heard it's also short.

I played it for an hour, and my initial impressions are that the game doesn't explain things to you well, or at all. The core gameplay mechanics are quickly explained to you through an optional tutorial which is very basic in its explanation and leaves you having to figure out exactly what it means. As for the rest, maybe I'm just too stupid, but it hasn't explained anything else. Like where to find what fish and what lure to use, or how to tackle the campaign. It's pretty confusing, and you're on a time limit, too. Also, although its pretty apparent from videos, but the game doesn't look good. It screams budget game and has very simple textures.

For $5, it might be worth a shot once you get into it, but I haven't yet, so I can't really recommend it as of now.

It would have to be really, really short to bug me. Counterspy was short too, but I loved it a lot.

Holy shit. I upgraded my dingy cheap D-Link router to an Airport Extreme, and I now have perfect, perfect, perfect Remote Play performance on my Vita, to a PS4 connected via WiFi!

I can use the Vita as a controller and play DriveClub looking at the big-screen, without any noticeable input lag. Likewise, there are no artifacts or stuttering on my Vita.

That's basically what it should be like. Not sure why so many have issues, major interference, shit routers or what. I guess most routers I've used are pretty shitty, but usually for other reasons.

Welcome to my world! =)

Wow the Vita TV store is awful. Just use SEN's website instead if you're 100% sure of compatibility. SK Versus only shows up in a search, there's no "new DLC", there's all of like 10 games in the "new games" section and it's a curated list not an actual "newest games" list.

It has to have something to do with crappy routers.. that's what fixed it for me at least.

Network conditions depend on a lot of things though--for instance my house has foot-thick walls, signals that cut through paper-thin modern home walls get stopped one or two rooms away max. Put the router in the middle of the house for minimal trouble though, and got one with a pretty solid range. Doesn't help the DS4's bluetooth from disconnecting from my PS4 in my bedroom though--about 1.5 walls away at a funny angle.

Alright just resubbed to plus. I couldnt find a local store that had a copy of ys so I decided I'll just wait a bit. I have like 20 digital vita games from resubbing haha.

Freedom Wars interview is in IGN podcast.
This was probably one of the better podcast beyonds in quite a while. The interview was pretty good even though I think Colin took a little shot at soul sacrifice calling it shallow lol. I'm really hoping that all this exposure on such a popular podcast will help out Freedom Wars sales next week.

I too gave it a listen while playing, and it was outstanding. It really brought my hype up for the game, for those who are on the fence and have some free time I would recommend giving it a listen. Pretty cool stuff about the whole process of bringing stuff over and such.

Any news if there will be a new Football Manager for the Vita? It is my most played game and I would even buy it if it is just a roster update.

PLEASE SEGA, PLEASE!!!
