So huh, I got the email this morning, I saw that I had a code. I was at work, so not like I could pop open my 3DS and download it then.

I come home and now I don't have a code anymore.

Fix your shit Nintendo.

If they can't manage to serve an 8KB image to the number of people who want the demo, what makes you think their eShop servers would stand up to a zillion people blasting it at once?

I disagree about the Smash Bros. code working out. Did you see the GAF code giveaway thread? It was the most cringe-worthy, embarrassing thing I've ever seen in my seven years of reading GAF on a daily basis. And I was a part of it. I got my code through that thread, and I hated myself for it! The thirst for meat was that fervent. Seriously, read through the thread someday if you haven't, because holy shit it's bad.

The main problem was the divide of commoners wanting the code, and kings feeling entitled to the Smash demo (such as myself) for being Platinum members but having email notifications turned off (I'm using those terms in jest, by the way, because the real fool are we who keep thinking Platinum will ever be a worthwhile thing to attain). After all, there's a zero percent chance that somebody who has Platinum needs another reminder about Nintendo products, so why would Platinum broskis and siskis opt in to a marketing letter to further clog up their inbox?

This demo is almost worse though, since they aren't just releasing it on the eShop for everybody. There are a lot of ways to obtain the demo, yes, but it's still bullshit to make your customers jump through hoops.

It should be in the white box under the blue box that says "enter this code in the nintendo ehop..."

(but it's not showing up for anyone atm)

Worst case scenario is that the first couple of hours would be clogged but once that cleared up it would be worth it since everybody could get the demo without having to buy a magazine or go to some dumb event.

To those who got the email but can only see COUPON or an empty space, keep refreshing, it will eventually show up. It might be better to copy the image url (the coupon image), open it in a new tab and press F5 until the code shows up. It worked for me, at least. Good luck!
 
Codes finally showing up for me. I got extra 2 codes which I don't need. If anyone interested, first two to quote this message will get the code and I'll PM you.
 
I got my code early in the morning on that Facebook offer, so I've got an extra one that came with the newsletter (US/CAN code). If you're in need of one, I'll PM it to the first person who quotes this post.

Gotta give back to the community here, as you guys hooked me up with a Smash code a few weeks ago, haha.
