PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Okay, I think I have my $100 for this month planned out.

Already bought

Let's Fish! Hooked On - $5.00
Project Diva f - $11.99
Battle Princess of Arcadia - $7.49
Beyond Good and Evil - $3.49
Tales of Graces f/Xilia bundle - $15.00

Total - $42.97

Plan to buy

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles - $10.19
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment - $39.99
Catherine - $6.99

Total - $57.17

What do you guys think? Good idea? The only one I'm iffy on is SAO, and only because I'm debating between the physical edition. Maybe I should switch it out with something else since it's full price. I'm also considering getting

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows - $8.99
Puppettear - $7.99
Silent Hill - Book of Memories - $11.99
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z - $10.19
Touch My Katamari - $4.50

What do you guys think I should do? Stick with what I'm planning, or get something else? I don't want to spend too much either, so I can't get all.

Edit: Any of the PS2 games (Fatal Frame, Stella Deus, Devil Summoner) worth picking up? I don't like picking up older games because of outdated visuals, so the gameplay would have to be really good. Only PS2 games I own are Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire, but those two looked really good.

I've heard of great things about Touch My Katamari, but the style is a bit too childish to me (not in a bad way)

SH Book of Memories is going to be a tough one, I have it on cart, and considering the fact that Vita's storage is a pressing problem, unless you have a 64GB card or doesn't give a damn about space, other wise I would recommend against it. It's a barebones dungeon crawler with a poorly implemented karma system in a SH skin.

I would say the same thing about Book of Shadows (heh) regarding space issues, you'll be better off watching the game instead, but that's just me.

I would take out Sword Art Online and get Soul Sacrifice Delta instead, if you are looking for hunting esque games and don't mind SS's gritty style.

Just my 2 cents.

I have considered getting SSD, but I have the original SS, so I'm not sure if I should drop $36 for it, considering I haven't finished the original. And I'm more into the RPG aspect, which SAO seems to have more of (from what I've seen/read).

I'll probably pass on Katamari and BoS. I'm only considering Katamari since so many people like it and it's really cheap, but it doesn't really seem fun to me, and I don't know why, but I'm just not excited for BoS at all, even though I really enjoyed the first one.

I actually have SH: BoM on cart, but want it digitally so I can have it on me (I really enjoyed it as a survival horror game, minus some bs stuff). But thinking about it now, though, $12 is steep considering I bought the physical version for $8, so I guess I'll pass on that, too.

I can't stop playing Miku. Bought both PS3 and Vita versions.
Diva F 2nd pretty much is a day one purchase at this point, especially since it's getting a physical release in EU this time.

Really really good rhythm game with tons of good songs that are fun to play and a great learning curve. I hope the songs in 2nd are just as good but I think I'll just buy it blind so everything is new.

I'd assume because there's already a thread dedicated to that stuff.

Do all exploits require the use of a firmware that needs to be added to the Vita from Content Manager/etc.?
Cuz I thought there might be some that work by downloading certain games and transfering certain save data etc.

I might jump on this if one is found for 3.30. I take it any PSX games I get stays even after updating?

I haven't kept up with it much, but basically minus a proof of concept native exploit I believe what happens is a game on the PSN store that enables a exploit is found and can be used until it gets made redundant on a new firmware, gets removed from the PSN store or the exploit is removed from the PSN store download of the game. (though obviously they can't get rid of it from it if you've already downloaded it before they replace it)

And that goes into PSP mode when you boot it up on the Vita, by extention booting into the exploit where you can use backup ISO's of your PSP/PS1 games and anything else in regards to emulators that PSP homebrew enables you to do, so you wouldn't be able to carry the games over to a new firmware if the exploit's redundant (though the files for homebrew stuff probably would still be on the Vita) Not too sure on what the firmwares for the latest stuff is though, the folks in that thread will probably give you a better answer than I did (or someone here who's more knowledgeable about it)
I really want to use an exploit just so I can play KH:BBS and FF7:CC on the Vita.
That was prettymuch the first thing I did when I got the UNO one ages back, would love to go back to one sometime and try out some more stuff.

Oh nice. Wonder what they will show, UC4 Gameplay seems to be for sure.
Also last Years Awards were amazing, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure winning one was pretty great lol

Uncharted 4 gameplay is probably more likely for PlayStation Experience a few days later.
Lol that's what i meant, i got stuff mixed up, my bad.

This Nik is teasing something Freedom Wars related that will show up on the Playstation blog tomorrow!!
Hype!!

Hype :P Although it has gotten mixed impressions on the import thread, I'm surprised at how people here seem to be so indifferent to the game. I know a few who, just like myself are hyped for it, but for the most part I don't see people talking about the game too much around these parts.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to play DLC from EU store on my games bought in the US store? I want to buy Dead Space 2 :severed since it never goes o sale on US store.

are there any recent KS with games coming out on PS platforms worth looking at?

If you mean "coming out soon" if you just watch @playstation and the PS blog most indies usually get a blog post between a month and a week before launch. If you mean "active kickstarters targeting PS consoles" I dunno, don't really follow 'em

Can't stop playing KZ: Mercenary .. Botzone on the bus! Multiplayer through PSTV. Last minute game sessions on Vita in the bed before sleepy time.
