Driveclub PS Plus Edition Delayed by Server Issues

Well it's pretty obvious. There is more crossover PS4 buyers from the previous generation. A significant portion were previously Xbox or Wii owners. They clearly are willing to switch and not loyal to any one brand.

I'm prepared to believe that, certainly not arguing it, but how significant are those numbers? And how many buy consoles based on a single racer?

This kind of talk is too much like that incredibly dumb talk about how indie games are just not good enough because they are not released on a disc and put in a box on a retail shelf.

Who gives a shit if DriveClub was the first retail release for PS+. Its not even the full game just 1 region and 10 cars. People act like it is the full game sometimes.

The offering so far from PS+ have been fucking incredible. Don't Starve? Pix the Cat? Velocity 2x? Spelunky? Fez? Strider? Binding of Isaac next month?

Amazing games. Hell of a lot better than the stuff you are getting from the competitions programs.

They might amazing to you but to other people there worthless. The only ps+ game on ps4 that I have played was Strider and probably not going to play any of those games like most people.

So you won't even try a free game? That makes no sense!

Ps Plus being objectively better than GwG is false. We got Crimson Dragon and STF. Pix the Cat is horrible since there is hardly much room for error besides taking a predetermined route that you can hardly react to, making you reach your personal average on the third or forth try.

What I meant to say is, it's subjective, as you might have guessed. None of the PS4 Plus games have been interesting...

Besides DriveClub. Which I still don't have. Why...

Most of those games came out like a year before the PS4 even released though...

You should try them - you might be surprised.

I haven't enjoyed many of them as much as I'd hoped, but Fez was a gods damn revelation. I'm sure I haven't felt that way since playing Link to the Past as a tiny tot. Resogun is also amazing. Those and Strider have been the stars of PS+ for me, but I haven'even yet given quality time to Velocity+, Spelunky or Dust, all of which look great.

What about all of those people who cheered for DriveClub to be released at launch with PS Plus though?

This is complete shit. I just want to see the damn game on my Monitor.
You'll have to wait a couple more weeks to play a game that obviously shouldve been pushed back again.

PS+ is good for indie games, aka 99% of them are 2 minutes of fun. I still want to hold on to my PS4 for Little Big Planet but it's just been sitting here for months.

Why push it back when they've literally got people paying $60 to server test for them, It's genius actually

Better to get $60 and a happy customer later than $60 and a disgusted and regretful customer now.

Everything can't be all about the immediate gains if it sours your consumers on your products. AAA gaming needs to learn that. Battlefield preorders will almost definitely suffer for the state that BF4 released in. I think the poor quality of CoD Ghosts is contributing to their poor preorder numbers of the latest version (among other contributing factors).

Exactly, some of those people are already buying season passes for it, even though it doesn't work yet.

This kind of logic bottles the mind. " It still doesn't work after a 1 year delay but what the hell, I'll give this company even more of my money right now for some future software."

Apologies, I was being sarcastic, I'm actually disgusted by this blatant anti-consumer practice. I felt like a sucker buying Sonic 06, and that at least worked as intended. This is straight scummy

I too like Microsoft Corporation. I commend you on your expression as an individual. Let us purchase their products thusly, friends.

The Xbox One Complete All-in-One Games and Entertainment System from Microsoft Corporation is by far the best choice for consumers this holiday season. Combined with the solid-as-a-rock stability and features of Xbox Live Gold, the Xbox One is sure to be a hit for every member of the family. In fact, after this DriveClub disaster, I'm selling my PS4 and Wii U and buying an Xbox One immediately!

How can you say it's subjective in one sentence, and then go on to make a declaratively objective statement in the next?

And your comparison with GWG would be great, but only if Pix the Cat were the sole title that has been released on Plus. As it is, there have been significantly more games released on Plus than on GWG, and with that larger selection comes more variety.

Don't think so, the paid version is still a pretty shitty experience just now, it's imagine getting the plus version out is way down their list.

Seriously I wouldn't hold your breath for this year. The online is already broken in the month of October, the load doesn't get any better in November and December when people: 1) buy lots of games and receive lots of games as gifts; and 2) have lots more free time to play said games.

It simply doesn't make sense to then allow a potential 10 million new players online in those months to ruin the experience for retail purchasers (the people they really should care about).

Like I said earlier, February 2015 (Bloodborne to draw players away and a good distance from the holiday season) makes the most sense for a PS+ release, unless they change the PS+ version to be offline only.

At this point since they've already failed to meet their promise of concurrent PS+ release with retail, they can just treat the game like a normal PS+ game. Like most other PS+ games that are fairly recent, expect it months after the official release of the game.

Thanks for the replies.

Hmm it doesn't look good for the game especially as it was supposed to be a launch game, i was looking forward to it, just have to wait & see i guess, it may be a racing filler for me between Forza Horizon 2 & Project CARS.

I got some bad news for you son . . .

You did forget about the Cloud.

I've had a ton of fun with Spelunky and Tower Wars. The plus games have been great so far. Strider was also pretty great.

Did you try the other game modes in PtC? The lab is cerebral, not reflex or time based. I also found it incredibly hard to believe that out of all of the games on ps+ in the last year, none of the interest you in the slightest. Id think if youre into racers, Resogun would at least be slightly entertaining.

Totally subjective. Neither program has been great the past few months, but PS+ would be more frustrating to me if I only had a PS4. Those titles you listed did nothing for me. Pure "meh". Outlast on PS4...(how many months ago was that?)...was the last PS4 game on + that I really liked. Mind you, Games with Gold hasn't been great either. But for you to say the offerings on + are "incredible" doesn't apply to many, many people. I like some Indies, but generally have the ones I want on Steam already...and the others I couldn't care less about.

Ugh, do I really need to explain how a retail game with a budget is in the 10s of millions is different from an indie game with a budget that's usually in the 100s of thousands?

Yes, I like indie games. There are times when I find them vastly superior to retail releases.

At this point in the PS3's lifecycle if you'd had PS+ for the last year or so you'd have a pretty damn decent little library going. With all sorts of different games in different genres with different budgets. If you have PS+ on PS4... you don't have anything even vaguely resembling that.

I expect it to not measure up simply because the system hasn't been out that long, but it could be a HELL of a lot better too.

Incredible is quite a stretch.
Either way I hope they step something up for November because the Driveclub debacle is really disappointing. I seriously cannot fathom how the game is still broken 2 weeks after launch and the demo is no where in sight.
I'm really surprised more reviews haven't taken this into account, that a lot of the games features are MIA or unreliable still, so long after the launch date.

I'm actually surprised the free version has been released yet. I figured there would only be like a week delay. Are there still server issues for those who have bough the regular edition?

I can't believe this hasn't been sorted yet. I feel for the people that bought the game. I'm not a racing fan so I'm not too hung up on not getting the PS+ Edition yet but considering Sony has been promoting it for over a year and I expect most of their expected sales were from people upgrading the PS+ edition, it's a bad situatio. That's gotta hurt.

Wasn't that excited for the game in the first place. I was just hoping for a fun free racer. Guess not. Can I just get battlefield 4 premium on sale instead. Like for 15-20 dollars.

Of course opinions and all, but Crimson Dragon is a huge flaming turd of a game.

I have the netflix problem with ps+, I probably would enjoy most of them but since they will always be around I dont play them.

Errmmm...what?!

PS3 didnt even have PS+ at this point in its life cycle, hell the Vita took nearly a yeah to get PS+ on it after release.

And maybe you should go back and check what games were given out for the first year on PS3, they were fun games but were mainly PSN, PS mini and PS1 games, no where near the status of the games you get the last couple of years.

Shows how much some people know regarding the points they are arguing about here.

Think they meant the last year or so of the PS3 life cycle. "At this point",,, like this point right now.. That's the way I read it, but I could be wrong too.
