Classic Laurel. Last week was two steps back, this is one step forward. Her story this week was good. I wonder how many episodes before Ted Grant and Laurel bang.

I was hoping Oliver would reveal that he was the Arrow to Thea.

Thea is looking DAMNED good.

Everything about Laurel in this episode was just meh.

Agreed, laurel is actually one of the few interesting parts of the show now lol. I like her arc now. Hopefully things get more interesting for team Arrow with the next episode, shit needs to go down already.

Like others have said, it was also cool to see Ollie go beast mode without the hood, and also using a gun. He needs to do that more often.

Also screw this no kill rule; I'm not a comic reader, but does comic book Ollie also have a strict batman/superman no kill rule? Cause Arrow as a show was appealing precisely because Ollie wasn't kicking ass with his hands tied, show feels so much more boring now that he doesn't ice a few people. Goes back to feeling like Smallville or a goddamn cartoon when you know every villain is just going to be locked up somewhere and eventually escape, or if they do die, it's because of some quirky accident or another character intervening.

I don't know how it happened, but this show drove off a cliff. This season so far is unbelievably bad. The acting is also garbage so far. Hopefully the introduction of Ra's brings some life back to the show

The Diggle subplot felt so contrived, like they needed an excuse for him to be in the episode and pad it out to the full length. I don't know why they couldn't have split it between both Starling and Corto Maltese and have Diggle do something relevant at home, it would have been nice to see him do something solo.

Another good episode. I get the requisite grieving period for last week's, but it's nice to see the team having fun again. It's crazy how much more I enjoy Roy now compared to S1. He's often got his head on straight more than Ollie.

Lyla is the fucking worst. I hope she at least paid Diggle for almost getting himself killed on a mission that isn't even his job in the first place.

So is Brandon The Atom already or is he going to be?

I wish he was playing Ted Kord instead. The Blue Beetle identity seems to match up more with Routh's characterization here. Having the power to shrink himself seems like a very random add-on to his character.

This was a pretty fun episode. Thea leveling up is going to be fun. Also really great stunt work during that last action sequence.

I'm happy Diggle didn't get sidelined this season. They made it seem like he would be out of action, which would have been pretty disappointing. Roy is fun sometimes, but he is no Diggle.

I actually don't mind Laurel's story arc at all. It makes sense that she wouldn't want to be passive about the entire situation. And I honestly wouldn't be able to "buy" Ollie training her (or Thea) after everything that happened. It was believable in the context of the show. Sara just died, no way Ollie trains Laurel to live the same lifestyle.

Is it me or did Roy look lousy at fighting? He looked like he was brute forcing guys much bigger than him. Is he still supposed to be strong from the Mirakuru? or was it just shitty choreography?

It depends. We've only seen her spar against her dad, and even there they alluded to the fact that he let her win so she could go back to Starling City. We know she is stronger now, but she hasn't fought anyone significant yet.

Yeah, Laurel has never been popular among the fan base. Especially early on in season 2 when she was a train wreck. I actually don't mind her character at all. Looking forward to see her become a brawler.

I get that they've got a limited amount of time due to it being a TV show but taking people who've never fought and then telling us it took 6 months to mentally and physically condition them to be a fantastic fighter / ninja bad-ass is taking liberties.

I had the same issue with Oliver's training but I guess looking back at those flashbacks his training must've happened over a couple of years (on the island at least) + whatever happened off the island.

Oliver had basically nothing else to do but train. Five years of dedicated training at the hands of Slade, Yao Fei, Shado, Maseo and presumably Katana and the KGBeast. Merlyn probably had similar.

Thea on the other hand wasn't even training full time in those five months. She has her job. But if Merlyn stays in Star City the training could continue.
