8 player mutiplayer Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Announced

- All Local multiplayer only
- 5-6 players for stages
- 8 players for select stages only as its own special mode
- Some stages are bigger to accommodate for 5 or more players
- Bots can be included in the 5-8 player modes

Rules for 8-Player Smash

Only the Time and Stock rule settings can be used in 8-Player Smash. In Team Battles, you can fight with up to four teams. (Team colors are red, blue, green, and yellow.) Also, only some of the stages are available in 8-Player Smash.

In the amibo new trailer they show 8 players fighting, 4 persons and 4 bots, the stages were
-Battlefield
-Mario Galaxy Stage.

In an eight-player battle, the following controllers can be used.

○Wii U GamePad (Max 1)
○Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus* (Max 7)
○Wii U Pro Controller (Max 7)
○Nintendo GameCube controller** (Max 8)
○Nintendo 3DS series system*** (Max 8)

* Includes expansion controllers (such as the Nunchuk or Classic Controller Pro).
** Two GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U accessories are required to connect eight GameCube controllers (each sold separately)
*** In order to use a Nintendo 3DS as a controller, each Nintendo 3DS system must have Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Okay. In the 3DS game 2 player matches tend to be a lot smoother than 4 player ones which can become a lag filled piece of shit if one player is a weak link in the chain (and it probably won't be a lot better on the Wii U as the official LAN adapter is discontinued so many people won't bother getting one to help here) and you want to double the number of players? What do you think will happen?

Don't be like bububut 12 player Mario Kart works. A racing game is not a fighting game and by Mario Kart works you mean you hit someone with an item and they don't flinch because of position lag...

If someone could write this better and stick it into the OP please do as I feel half of the thread will be about this...

I remember hoping for 6-player in Melee/Brawl. This though...


Even if the items suck like they did in Brawl, 8-player will scratch that insanity itch completely
