Are keybindings in yet? I have access and would love to give it a shot but it is impossible to play as a lefty atm.

As a lefty, I don't understand. Do you mouse on the left and use ijkl or something? Seems like a needless self-imposed hindrance. I'll bat/throw/write lefty, but it's better in the long run to just learn some skills the "righty way." Dull lefty scissors as a child helped me realize this.

I've had access for a long time but never bothered to try it until today as my friend was invited and wanted to play it and I really wish I'd played it sooner, it's a total blast, just so fun.

I love how the maps are varied, it's like doing old school AV, farming scraps to summon the Ice Lord. I think my favourite is the pirate map.

I've tried all the free heroes and the Demon Hunter from my RoS bonus and I enjoyed them all which is a good sign, it wasn't until I started levelling that I realised the heroes have some serious depth and customizability.

I feel everything is overpriced though, £7.50 for a hero? Madness. I will most likely never spend any money on this game simply because I would feel ripped off. I don't think any hero should cost more than £4.99, with most around £1.99 - £3.99, I think the cost will put a lot of people off, especially considering gold gain is apparently fairly slow. They should make heroes really cheap, but make skins more expensive to compensate, that way people can enjoy a wider variety of heroes to stop them getting bored, and rich people can pimp their heroes with fancy skins.

Overall my first night with HoS was a lot of fun, the game is a total blast and all about fun, I thought it would be boring with no items, last hitting and some other mechanics removed but it's really not, it's one of the most fun games I've played in a long time.
2 of the current bundles aren't bad, imo. (Starter and Nexus)

When is the beta?

Hopefully soon. Roommate got into the alpha last night and I'm still not in, even despite entering the Facebook contest. I am not happy.

I'm left handed. I use my mouse in my left hand and the numpad/arrow keys in my right hand for most games. In most games this serves me just fine. If a game doesn't allow remapping I just remap my keyboard itself with autohotkey. I'm considering purchasing the left-handed version of the Razer Naga mouse to make this setup even more effective for me.

They rotate bundles, but usually give a few days warning.

I might wait then, because none of those heroes I really want. I really want Kerrigan, I also want Sonya and Stitch. It would probably takes weeks, if not months to earn them with gold right? It's around 700 wins not taking into account bonus gold. The more I think about it, the more I hate this system, all heroes should be playable from the start like Dota 2, they're going to make plenty of money from skins and mounts. It's pretty awesome how you can try heroes before buying them though.

333 wins per hero unlock, at 20 minutes per win that's over 100 hours per hero unlock. I very much doubt people will continue to play this game if this isn't changed, I sure as shit know I will burn out and get bored way before reaching 100 hours without a single hero unlock.

Since it was my first games, they apparently just put me with other players that are just starting out that don't own any of the incredibly expensive heroes. So far I've barely seen any other heroes played.
If the game has the usual F2P "payers to players" ratio, that's not going to change, until you get matched with higher ranked people who are equally invested into the game and are more likely to have spent money on it.

I will say that my experience with Dota 2 meant that I had better positioning against most opponents (who are probably new to the whole genre) and allowed me to make favorable trades most of the time, even if I didn't know their skills or roles (or mine, for that matter :lol).

The dailies give you a fair amount of gold. I don't think it'll take 100 hours to unlock one hero. Plus each hero you do have has a tier which grants you 500 gold for hitting it.

Finally got in, and I really like it so far, but the basic movement feels too slow. There needs to be a quicker pro mode. I was trying to stutter step with Raynor, and the delays for the animation made it feel like playing SC2 on a 56k modem.

Yeah, I've been looking into it and it seems about 2 weeks per hero is the average, which isn't great but not too bad. I will just have to pick very wisely.

Is there any OP hero in the game? ;-) What hero should I buy with my coins?

Go to the shop and you can try before you buy. Nova is considered pretty OP right now AFAIK.

Nova's really easy to shut down if you're playing against a team that is organized, but if you're just playing against idiot pubs who don't group up and don't bother healing it's very easy to steal games with Nova. Spending 10k gold on a hero that can be shut down almost entirely by a little map awareness and the buddy system seems like a bad idea if you're just starting out though.

Arthas, Tassadar, Uther, Valla, Nazeebo, and Tychus are all less expensive and are all top picks/bans in competitive scrims. They're also all relatively team independent so you can still find success with them in solo queue.

This week when i got home from work i logged in to my battle.net app and surprise blizzard granted me access to the alpha! Played it yesterday and today it's pretty fun and yes i also play dota 2 but this is just what blizzard does..sheer fun everybody is the same.

Since i got the C.E for Reaper of Souls i have Valla! Pretty happy about that. If people want to add me on battle.net my nickname is : Nokterian #2469 i am in the EU btw.

Just played a few matches like 3 or 4 and won them all. Yes you will lose but i was on top of the list everytime with the most kills and keep pushing until they fall..i love that.

I am absolutely loving this game, it's the most fun game I have played in a very, very long time. It really has that Blizzard magic all over it. I've been playing for around 5 hours a day for the past 3 days and it's not boring at all.

There's several heroes I want to buy, but I have to be really careful now as gold gain sucks, I have got level 5 on all the free heroes and reached level 15 so no more rewards. I'm thinking about buying Falstad who I adore and Illidan who was a lot of fun when I tried him, that's 11,000 gold total which I have.

I only gave this game a try because I needed something to pass the time until Advanced Warfare comes out and I'm so glad I did, it'll be something I come back to for sure once the new CoD has got boring.

Nova was recently majorly overhauled, but she gained the ability to basically instantly take down a squishy hero and then sometimes a second which is too strong given that raw numbers means a lot in team fights in this game.

You can mitigate it by going with more tanks heroes, but if the meta revolves around one hero that means they likely are having way too much impact.

I think the overhaul itself was really good, but they just need to lower the damage numbers.

Nova as a hero won't be playable unless she's capable of gibbing weak supports/assassins in one combo. Burst heroes keep the game honest and act as a built in check and balance for split pushy teams.

Which is fine- but if a character is slightly overtuned for team games but is utterly obnoxious in solo queues, they're going to balance to the lowest common denominator and tone her down a bit.

They already needed most of the heroes that had that kind of game changing presence repeatedly.

Lili and Murky are two good recent examples to nerd their ability to keep a team going and back door singing respectively.

Unless they decide to start balancing up instead of down I really doubt they will leave Nova alone.

I really hope custom games let you crank up the speed in the final version, much like Starcraft 1+2. Because the slowness is my only major complaint.

I like the game, but unless they change the pricing scheme I'll be out soon enough. They need more bundles with cheaper heroes and/or they need to drastically reduce the gold price of heroes.

It seems to be the number one complaint, I'm sure they'll fix the issue. I can afford a 7k and 4k hero after getting to level 15 and levelling all this week's heroes to level 5 but from now on the gold gain is miniscule. They should add a 200g first win of the day bonus, bump winning gold to 80, losing gold to 40, tighten the daily quest gold to be less varied and add gold rewards for every 5 player levels.

How is she at all obnoxious in solo-queue? Stand behind creeps and shoot the shimmer. I didn't play when Li Li or Murky were tearing things up so I can't comment on how Blizzard plans to balance things, but Nova definitely doesn't seem problematic.

But honestly, unless they plan on completely overhauling her kit and giving her actual utility or team fight ability, there's no reason to touch her. She's designed from the ground up to kill single heroes extremely quickly and that's what she does. If they remove her ability to one-combo kill weak heroes she'll go back to being completely worthless like she was pre-patch.

Is this hate for burst a LoL thing? I see people cry about Nova all the time on HotS forums, but nobody who plays DotA cares too much about heroes like NA, BH, etc. and they're all arguably significantly more lethal than Nova is.

This means no one would ever buy heroes. I think where they have it down with dailies and all is fine.

I think people will burn out because of the high costs before getting invested enough to spend money.

I think they would make plenty money with skins and mounts. Shame that blizzard didnt take a page out of the dota book other.

Other than that I really enjoy Heroes. Its great that blizzard decided to go a different route than dota and lol. This is truly a different game. Its all about map awareness, mechanics and teamwork. Love it!

Prior to really playing a lot, I assumed "Some maps might not even be around in rotationin a year" was a hypothetical talk about rotation and such.

Now I realize he just meant Haunted Mines.

Just noticed yesterday that it was in my battle.net account. Had a buddy over and we played the whole day. It was a blast but man it does take ages to farm gold. I do know why but a bit more gold per win would be nice. We bought the damn Diablo for 7k gold :/ well, seems like grinding is the deal but it is so much fun I don't mind yet

Agreed, they should have made all heroes available and just sold skins and mounts. As it is now people may never discover their favourite hero who they'd happily buy skins for.

Sticking to 1 hero is not so my thing really it can get boring. But they need to lower the price of those hero's and open up more to play.

Got excited and just checked mine... Sadness.

Man, I really wish Call of Duty wasn't coming out next week. I am loving HotS but as soon as CoD comes out that's all I'll be playing for around 3 months, that's about 25,000 gold in daily quests if I don't do them. Usually I have no games that interest me and get super bored, now I have two I want to no life on at the same time :/

I got the game yesterday, It's so fun and the gameplay is so good *-*

There's just something that bothers me...

THE HORSES ARE STUPID!

I mean, wtf... Diablo, The prime Evil, riding a horse?

Imo they should get rid of the mounts, they just don't fit the game...

My party looks like a group of Guardians of the Galaxy cowboys killing ppl around for fun...
