PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

I don't think Sony would want that kind of bad press. Fans of the original would be pissed. Multiplat I could see but a sequel not being on Vita would be too big of a fuck you to the fans.

But this is Soony we are talking about, and they hate the Vita; they would rather the game be on PS4 to sell more copies :l.....

Either way, expect Oshoka to be the last first party tittle to ever land on Vita (retail/full game wise; they are still making multiplatform PSN games across both platforms).

I hate to be this bitter but Sony just doesn't care about the Vita anymore, so.....they figure their is no point to do anything for the platform anymore :'(.

At least we can expect JP third party games to land on the thing for at least another year :D; TGS was amazing for Vita support even if many of the Vita games are also getting PS3/PS4 versions.

Are you serious? Do you actually still believe that Sony cares about the Vita userbase? After all that happened over the past two years?

They care enough to constantly bring games to Vita. At least 1 a week, sometimes 4 or 5 a week for the past few months.

But they don't make the games. Freedom Wars and Oreshika will be the last bigger-budget Sony games we'll see on Vita, I think.

That's what I've been saying the entire time. The backlash would be immense if Sony made it a PS4 exclusive. But certain hints from certain insiders heavily imply that it isn't coming to the Vita, so I don't know what to think now. I just hope Sony are prepared for the inevitable shitstorm if Shinobi is right.

Sony doesn't get to take credit for all the indie and japanese developers who make vita games lol. Their current status is indifference, and that's the biggest issue. They don't hate the vita, or it'd be off the market. They don't like it either, or they'd actively support it.

Shitsorm? I don't think the userbase is big enough for Sony to care. With Tearaway coming to PS4 (albeit it's not really the same) I wouldn't be surprised if Gravity Rush 2 was a Vita game but became a PS4 exclusive later, it might even explain why we haven't seen anything for more then a year now.

What Panopticons are Vita GAF going with? I live in the NW US and I'm caught debating with Honolulu and Anchorage (wtf). I've always despised LA sports, so I probsbly won't be playing there.

I think "take credit" is too strong, but they approach and work with those indies to help bring their games to playstation. They provide hardware and support to make it as easy as possible for such small studios.

So Sony is definitely a factor, but no, it's definitely not all Sony's doing.

The Vita fanbase might be small but it's also vocal, and if the system were stripped of one of its biggest exclusive IPs then that wouldn't go down well with the Vitamuffins of the world. I still remember the furore caused over Freedom Wars being denied a retail release in Europe. Sony relented about two days after that news being made public and announced that they changed their minds and would grant it a physical release. Gravity Rush 2 removed from the Vita and given to the PS4 would be on a whole other scale of outrage compared to that.

The only way the Tearaway situation would be the same is if MediaMolecule had announced Tearaway 2 instead of a port with 50% new content.

Grace Chen time as always friend. I have yet to see a midnight digital release for a Vita game.

Ah damn it. I was really hoping to get it on my Vita before my commute tomorrow morning and to kill time in and in between class

Gonna be supporting Toronto because... Well I live in Toronto. I'm still slightly confused about why they chose Edmonton over Vancouver to represent Western Canada.

Freedom Wars getting a physical release and Gravity Rush moving from PSV to PS4 are completely different imo. In the case of Gravity Rush, a lot of PS4 owner would be happy getting one of the best Vita franchise, which would far outweigh the unsatisfied Vita owners. Whereas for Freedom Wars they might have lost some buyer not releasing it in retail. I used Tearaway as an example of Sony picking a highly regarded Vita franchise and moving it to the PS4, because for me it means that Tearaway 2 (if there is one) will be on PS4.

It would be sad because Gravity Rush is the reason I bought a Vita, but with how Sony is treating the Vita it would not surprise me with it happen.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy to contribute to a shit storm over Gravity Rush 2 going awol, but at that point I would probably just post like "this sucks. fuck you" then go die inside, unable to affect any change or comment crusade.

Also since we are doing it, why not tell us which Panopticon you plan on joining, if you are getting the game? Toronto over here :P

Probably going with Berlin since it's the only German Panopticon. Berlin is so far away from my place though. Even Paris is closer :P.
I probably won't get the game before next week though since I am importing from the UK and I haven't finished SK SV anyway. The fact that I started FFXIV on the PS4 doesn't help either.

Can someone also pitch in! But its funny only last week they were asking for bugs and now the patch it out.

It seems a bit better. Menus are a bit faster, and some text is now bigger? It's been some time since I last played BL2 Vita and I played a lot of BL:TPS on PC since then, but speech text seems bigger.

And after fighting on the moon the enemies feel too fast, lol. I was struggling to hit some marauders.

I hear you, I hope it updates early cuz I have a family birthday party to go to tmrw night lol. And another Toronto prisoner, yes! We will take over everything :P

As for the Edmonton thing... Maybe because it has the largest mall in the world? LOL.

Guys, with the PSN promotion drawing to a close tomorrow, I need some advice. I was originally planning to pick up SAO Hollow Fragment, Tales of Symphonia, and Dragon Ball Z to make up the $57 I need to reach $100. But now, I'm doubting whether I should.

I really do want SAO, but I'm playing Fantasy Life right now and there's no way I'm stopping it until I 100% the game, which will probably be in December. So it'll be at least that long before I come around to it, if not longer. I feel Symphonia will get an even bigger discount (like Symphonia+Xilia 2 $15) if I wait. I have no intention of playing this anytime soon, if ever, lol. I need to play Xilia and Graces first. And I just threw Dragon Ball Z in because it looks okay and I needed something else.

Anyways, what do you guys think I should do? My sensible half is telling me no, but the other half is telling me yes, since I've already spent $47. WHAT DO I DOOOOOOO?!!!

Any hints as to the Nov PS+ games yet?

Binding of Isaac is confirmed and quoted from the PS+ thread:

Saw most of the Nov PS+ games. Not sure on Vita though. Some more cross buy stuff however.

You will be dissapointed if you are expecting any AAA retail games this month.

The other PS4 game has similarities to a PS+ game from this month. Its another well recieved game though.

So I have access to a 14 day or so trial of PS+ on my PS3. If I activate it now can I grab some of the PS+ stuff of October and Nov? On the website?

I guess I'll be koukening tomorrow.

I wouldn't pay $60 for a PS4 version of Gravity Rush 2. Maybe if it included a remastered version of the original with the DLC bundled in.

Always thought Gravity Rush was a bit short. Could have used 10 more chapters.

TTGH is looking good, I'm pretty hyped.

Your avatar reminded me that I'm waiting for the Vita version of Steins;Gate to get localized to play it
It's not happening, is it? ;__;

Based on your post, I would hold off. $15 is not worth spending $50 if you can get them later and probably on sale, especially if you aren't playing them right away.

Is that Aksys' upcoming Arc Sys visual novel?
Yep.

I'm still believin'.

I mean, 5pb. just started localizing games in the west on their own and they started with a vita game so there's a chance. There's a plethora of 5pb. VNs on the vita I want to play.

I haven't played it but I'd wait for some reviews and impressions before buying. It was poorly received for being really short (10~ hours) and generally unpolished.
We don't get that many VNs over here so I can't exactly be overly picky, I'll probably buy it unless it turns out that it's complete garbage

So to fill my 100$ quota, which PS4 games should I buy?

1. Infamous Second Son + Peggle 2

or

2: Last Of Us Remastered.

I have the Last of Us on PS3 but I do not have Left Behind. I have not played this game yet.
