If Miles Morales were to be in the MCU, it'd be Donald Glover. I can't think of anyone else who they would pick. I can't see them going with a big name for the role, so I think they'd focus more on pleasing the fans.
That said, I don't see Miles Morales ever being in the MCU.

No way MCU uses Miles. The average joe only knows Peter Parker as Spiderman and have never heard of Miles. I mean, you got gafers still confused about Marvel/Fox sharing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Imagine the confusion this would cause. Plus, I doubt they will do another origin story for Spidey and will bank on the audience already knowing him solely due to pop culture recognition.

Now will they use a new Spidey or keep Sony's Spidey? I think they go with a new actor and keep Sony's universe separate.

If anything this one would be easier to understand. They have a different costume and different personalities. People would clearly be able to tell these are different characters.

Look it's a good idea but they're not going to put their most famous hero up there with a character little white kids aren't going to want to play with. It's reality. Marvel isn't the risk taker you guys believe they are. If BP and CM are announced tomorrow it will be because they saw the reaction to Wonder Woman.

Most little white kids don't know who peter parker is, they see the mask and the character spider-man

What if it's not Spider-MAN?

Unlikely, since Spider-Man is the way better known franchise.

But since Jessica Drew Spider-Woman is very unrelated to Spider-Man, I would think they own Spider-Woman anyway. Shes far more attached to Hydra, SHIELD and the Avengers than to anyone else.

Marvel does own spider-woman.

I'd be completely fine with Miles Spider-Man and I think so would most people. Spider-Man is Spider-Man. Peter Parker is great and a really fun character, but people will still accept Miles as Spidey the minute he puts on the costume. I think it could be a great decision by Marvel, not to mention it's a pretty logical compromise for Sony to make if a Spider-Man is going to get into the MCU. Would be much better than ripping Garfield Parker out of the ASM universe somehow too.

Not really. Having the same Spider-Man appearing in a Marvel movie is a much better advertisement for their own Spider-Man movies.

People know who spider-man is and what they're spider-man movies are. "Advertisement" isn't really going to change anything. Some deal where they get a percentage of profits from MCU movies that Spider-Man shows up in could be very profitable for them on the other hand.

I really don't think the announcement would be Spidey.

They're busy with their own Spidey universe and I would imagine Sony still having faith in it.

It's much more likely to be about a Marvel Studios property.

It's likely about multiple things. Spidey just may or may not be one of them. And if he is one of them he would be the biggest.

Sony does not really have faith anymore. We know this from insiders and their public shuffling of release dates.

I believe you, but was this confirmed? Cant remember an official statement regarding this.
They don't need an announcement or to a make it official. She has nothing to do with the Spider-Man rights.

Miles will never make it onto the screen guys. He just isn't that popular.

I dont think so. I highly doubt that without the Marvel Studios "seal of qualitity", Guardians of the Galaxy wouldnt have been the success it was.
People would now go in a Spider-Man movie, because they were now connected with Iron Man, Captain America, etc.

I feel this way, for exemple. MCU Movies are a must see for me, because they are all set in the same Universe. I really like to see how it grows with every installment. (That they are always fun to watch comes in handy, too ;-) )

On the other hand, if I were not such a big Spider-Man fan, I had seen no reason for watching ASM2 in Cinema. Same goes for Fantastic Four and X-Men. There is no need for me to watch them in cinema, I could just wait until the Blu-Ray drops. When friends would want to go and see them, I would maybe join, but there is no real pressure for me to do this.

To me it seems like they still have faith if they are moving forward with The Sinister Six and then ASM3.

Exactly, which is why people would go see Miles if he was headlining a MCU movie. Just because Spidey appears in the MCU doesn't mean that audience is going to transfer back to the Sony produced Spider-Man movies. People aren't stupid. They know those aren't made by Marvel.

They pushed back ASM3, haven't moved past the script phase on Sinister Six (which they were already in when ASM2 was releasing), and this month there have been reports that Venom is dead in the water. Those are major moves that indicate their faith is wavering. They're in a holding pattern right now.

Yeah, pretty stupid move then from Sony for not getting their Spider-Man in the MCU for better advertisement.

They actually announced a female led SM spin-off and Venom to be released before ASM3 (2018). Sony is going all in.
So "planned" and "rumored" is the new is announced?

But how many honestly and genuinely think they'll announce Spider-Man for MCU tonight?

Idk did they do a press conference to announce any other leading men?

Then again sherlock might be the most establish star they've convinced to do one of their movies since rdj and scarlett.

I've got a little bit of hope for it as it would be awesome, but I don't think it's going to happen. We'd have had another flurry of rumours (on top of the vague talk from a few weeks ago) if that was going to be the case.

This'll be phase 3 announcements.

Miles would be awesome too.

Sub Captain Marvel for a Black Bolt/Inhumans tease and headline the event with the slogan....

"MCU: Bet on Black."
Bringing a whole new meaning to Civil War.

Also don't forget Triplett, who has been rumoured to show up in Avengers 2

Which is also the weirdest choice ever but whatever

My honest guess is that they're going to roll out the phase 3 planning; Inhumans, Dr Strange, Cap 3, Thor 3, Guardians 2, and hopefully Black Widow & Hawkeye; what happened in Budapest , Black Panther (which is basically a given now that Cap's shield is broken), and a solo Hulk.

Ultimately Avengers 3, which might be a double feature with Guardians 3 both teams taking on Thanos.

I thought it was confirmed that A3 will be Civil War. Which makes sense given the rumors that Russo brothers being directors.
The only two things we know about Avengers 3 is that it won't have the same roster as Avengers 1/2, and Thanos probably won't be the villain.

Honestely, dudes, check your sources.

I always had the impression that Thanos would be the big bad in Avengers 3. Maybe fit the Civil War stuff into the other movies?

This is all we got regarding rosters:

The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins," says producer and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige on the Age of Ultron set. "It's like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film.

They're both off hand comments from Whedon (wrt my post). Of course stuff is constantly in flux but Whedon has mentioned on two separate occasions that the roster will definitively change.

I agree though, there's way too much pushing any rumour into likelihood.

EDIT: ^ Nevermind it was Feige for the roster bit.

I think the Civil War should be already going then the Guardians show up on Earth and are shocked that our heroes fight against each other while Thanos is already on his way.
