I know its a long shot, but Spiderman entering the Marvel Studios flicks makes perfect sense for all parties involved.

Sony needs money, Marvel wants Spiderman. The Spidey franchise needs a boost in the arm after the disappointing returns on Amazing 2, what better solution than to "lease" him to Marvel Studios and rake in the profits as part of the Avengers or something? It's a win win all around.

I agree thats the only reason it's plausible. Disney is like one of the richest companies in the world they could probably give Sony a very generous offer to get the character back outright.

Friggin' President is kidnapped in Iron Man 3, and no-one except for Tony gives a shit. Not to mention how "The Mandarin" has people infiltrating the Government at the same time as Hydra does.
