Shuma would be a lot more popular if all his touch of death stuff wasn't a bunch of super tight links involving charges
Spacing of his combos is also an issue (corner combos = death, mid screen combo = mediocre damage). Also a bigger issue is the lack of tools to actually get the hit to kill other characters. Character is pure assist tier in the game.

Shuma's got that Samus effect. Weird to combo with, weird to combo on.
Yea Shuma totally did that by himself! Wasn't like he had Wolverine or Dorm pulling most of the load.
Irrelevant as its the team that matters and Shuma was an integral part of that team. Replacing Shuma on that team with even Dr Doom or Vergil makes it a weaker team overall.
Shuma actually got top 8 again this year with Jan's team of Hulk/Haggar/Shuma.
Jan was able to do it with Hulk and Haggar. Shuma's assist is really good.
Shuma doesn't do shit every time he actually comes in. Its basically Mystic Ray assist and that's all he's good for, he's probably about as bad as deejay comparably he's just in a team game so the comparison is dumb to begin with.
Not only that Shumas usually on anchor so he has the benefit of x factor level 3, when he's by himself hes complete ass.
Deejay at least has some good tools.

Basically, if you had assists or strikers in SF4 Deejay would've definitely made Top 8 by virtue of his max out assist.
