Legend of Korra Book 4: Balance |OT| A Feast of Crows

This would explain why Suyin takes her in when she's 8 years old, because it doesn't sound like she was born in Zaofu.

Yep. She was an orphan, without a family. Eh eh. It's all adding up suckas. Totally a disowned orphan of the royal blood. It's why that flashback scene seemed strange when it panned on Kuvira. She was thinking about what her mom did to her, and how she wanted to re-take what should have been hers.

It's HAPPENING. ronpaul.gif

It's pretty clear that Kuveira's spirit weapon will be insanely powerful, possibly nuclear level. I think that's where they are going with this. Kuveira will bring peace and stability via force which is the same thing that the Avatar does. They will pull a Code Geass S2 Freija/Damocles for sure. It's the only thing that makes sense.

What is Kuvira is just lolevil?

Bryke love daddy/mother issues doe. Evil isn't something that just exists. It only exists when kids are mad at their parents. Don't you know. Hitler was just mad at his mom, entire reason for the Holocaust. The takeaway from ATLA and Korra is to stop being a shit parent, you are raising kids that will start revolutions and genocide.

lol I was listening to the Book 1 commentary and they were all like "There's no black and white in the real world kids."

Then they made Unalaq and fucking VATUU.
Got hacked?

It's a possibility. Doesn't make her any less AMAZING.

Yeesh. I never heard that, but lol

EDIT: Also lol Tak you think I was gonna let you pass me up in posts? Psh. Muhahaha

Earth Queen tried to infuse her with Life Fibers, but failed in the experiment which is why she has no fashion sense and wears one article of clothing now. She also tried to make her eat Basco, but it didn't happen so he was just stuffed.
Korra is her long lost sister

That only applies to side characters though.

Main characters can have their parents be neglectful and corrupt, and they'll bitch about it well into their 50's, but otherwise be fine.

I just got Azula's edit there.

MORE Kuvira=Hitler comparisons, huh?

You know, Kuvira is doing a lot of good here. Maybe you guys outta think that maybe Hitler did some good, too.

Like Kuvira.

Well, he build the Autobahn. Did Kuvira push and build any new means of faster travel that is good for everyone but mostly intended for military aggression?

...

Ooooooh

I'm just sayin'.

Kuvira is a good thing. Not a bad thing. Plus, she's not putting specific groups of people to work in a kamp. She's putting everyone in those! =D

lol, it's okay as long as everyone is slave labor.

The great uniter indeed. Anyone else want to live in that kind of society? Wishing Kuvira was my president. <3

I will end you and your incredibly quotable avatar.

I honestly think Lin is far from "fine," she's functional, but the show doesn't have time to go into her problems thoroughly.

Is Kuvira a side character though? I guess I was talking about main bad guys.

That's a fair point. It's not like it's a long established thing, as I alluded to. Ya'll right.
There's also Ozai that inherited his dads cause, but that seems to be about it. ATLA was more about family than Korra is though. World could've been different if Sozin wasn't a national elitist that wanted to force his culture on everybody or if Ozai was more sensible like Iroh with his parenting. I don't know how Iroh's son would've turned out if he survived, but I assume less of a monster than Azula.

Kuvira gets full on painted as the bad guy, from the council who just wanted to have a puppet they could control to Suyin's family giving her the stinkeye even the writers want you to hate her. I don't really care for Varrick though, so her force choke was a-okay in my book.

Okay, everyone say top cartoons. In no particular order:

Avatar: The Last Airbender
Gargoyles
Young Justice
The DCAU as a whole
Spectacular Spider-man

There are more, but those immediately spring to mind. As you can see, I am big on superheroes.

Man, I can never keep up with this thread, but this list is difficult to argue with, though I would throw Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Superman: The Animated Series in there as well.

Yeah it's a perfect list IMO. Veelk knows his stuff about animation.

Dude what if this dance turns out to be a secret hidden earth bending final move.
Toph: In my prime and even afterwards I was the strongest earthbender on the world. But my time ended, when a certain boy surpassed my power at the age of 12. Sadly his mental development stopped at the same time. I wonder what happened to him.

Unalaq's reason was the jealously of his brother, tho. I think that counts as family.
That was his reason for being that evil? That's pretty cliched. Doesn't give him that much of an excuse for having kids and not really caring about them. Are Eska and Desna even people or did he just conjure them up using spirits and his own DNA?

I think we all agree, that Unalaq was a shit tier villain.
And regarding Eska and Desna is actually a good question.

Yeah, totally shit tier. Even on a shallow/surface level, he wasn't entertaining or fun to watch. He just failed on every level. I kind of feel like the season would have been better if they hadn't focused so much on the side plot in Republic City. The civil war + Unalaq stuff was a fuckin mess and really lacked any build up or depth.

So disappointing that something as epic as Convergence was wasted on that. I KNOW KNOW this is just circular and this has been said a bazillion times. lol BUT...what is new, is the discussion about family. I think they could have done more given his relationship with Korra. And the familial problems. They kind of dropped the ball with Unalaqs back plot, and never really explained his betrayal of his brother (his motivation). It's alluded that he was jealous of him. That he had issues with his parents. But even that wasn't really confirmed per se. It was more so alluded to.

All we know is, he's always had a deep spiritual connection for some reason, and early on he made moves to get his brother ousted and to over take his family, for his own selfish reasons. Not a whole lot of motivation outside of him wanting power and siding with spirits. Or something.

Giant KAIJU battle with amazing music made it all worth it.
...maybe?
It was never shown or said whether Unalaq has a wife or what happened to her. Eska and Desna never said anything about a mother. She could just be dead or vanished with altered memory and face, but she could very well never existed in the first place. X-Files theme
Yeah they did, right after Korra apologized to them for epic homicide of their father.

Korra's gonna go Kaiju, Kuvira's gonna get in a boss ass giant mech, many songs and feels will happen.
whoever loses Opal wins

Lol I'm on my re-watch of X-Files. On season 4 actually.

Edit: yall need to accept Kuvira is the Queens daughter :p

Korra faces a tough decision, she either lets Kuvira take over and militarize the Earth Kingdom, causing instability. Give reign to a child who is inept at making decisions to affect millions of people and lead them to prosperity unlike Zuko. Or leaves the Kingdom in Ruins.

Korra seeks advice and tries once more to reconnect with her past avatars when suddenly she is confronted by Zaheer!

"Zaheer!" Korra lashes out violently, in her earthbending stance, ready to strike! "You broke out of prison?!"

"Korra I only came here to say one thing" Zaheer remarks, also in a battle stance, his eyes as cold as ever.

"Out with it Zaheer!...wait...No do-" Suddenly dubstep music starts playing in the background, Zaheer, who is now dressed like a rapper starts breakdancing closer to Korra while whispering in her ear "I toooooooollllldddd you sooooo!" before he drifts off into the abyss.

Korra on her knees shouts out "nooooooo!!!!" when a warm light touches her. Could it be? "A-aang?"

"Nah bitch". The mysterious light ruthlessly beats korra into submission using a poison dart.

"O-opal why woul" Korra's words fade into the same abyss that Zaheer just breakdanced in as she tries to gasp the final words from her mouth Opal stand over her saying

"Dis my town now" and rips Raavaa from Korra. Killing both of them once and for all.

Next episode on Avatar - The great uniter fights for justice and peace against the biggest threat the world has faced, Pema the ring leader and Opal the anti-avatar! Will Kuvira win? Will Republic city be destroyed? All I know is that some boss ass action is going down!

EDIT: Spoilered in case people get sensitive about WHO OBVIOUSLY IS THE VILLAIN HERE. Pansies.

Kuvira will go the way of Amon. We will find out she's a fraud. She's secretly the disowned daughter of the old Earth Queen. Upset that her royal blood was denied, she decided to take back the thrown that was owed to her. All this talk about unity and her "system" bringing the earth kingdom out of a despair is a ruse, for her to get back at her mother issues and to reclaim her rightful throne.

Yep. Gon happen. Watch.

Ha with the way Brkye are I could see this. Hope not though as we don't need yet another villain with parent issues.

Part of the blame on all of this lies on Suyin, by not doing anything three years ago she is responsible for whats happening, not even tried to help her kingdom when it was in trouble, let many innocents die, she did not even tried to negotiate with Tenzin and Raiko, she just said no, going against the wishes of part of Zaofu population, Kuvira, and her son,at least Tenzin tried to be a teacher, Su didnt care about Kuvira and instead banished her, going against her own ideologies in Zaofu.

Now she wants to kill her pseudo daughter, and maybe her son too.

Su is such a weird character. I really hated her for what she did to Lin, and how she never took responsibility or ever truly viewed her pas actions as terrible. But I liked adult Su. But then this plot with her not giving a fuck and not doing ANYTHING...lol
