Fighting Games Weekly | Nov 3-9 | Tekken Our Jobs

$5 for one character blows.

That's usually the threshold where I generally won't purchase additional characters. Anything $3.99 and under is my impulse buy sweet spot. I also have to take into consideration whether it's only one DLC character vs 3 or 4 characters that I would need to buy.

Yeah if I had a ton of indispensable income, I'd probably get a shit ton of figures. Just barely escaped the Gunpla vortex, so yeah I'm careful of even lurking the FigureGAF thread.

I used to know a guy with who was really into gunpla and pumped all of his money into buying everything. It's like you opened his closet and instantly drown underneath so many boxes. I don't want to know how much each one costs

Yeah, it's pretty much the girl figure/Nendoroid collector's thread now. Used to be more diverse a few years ago.

Well that's pretty disappointing to hear. I can handle a mild bit of moe before I get turned off completely :/

I know y'all won't care, but gonna be taking a leave of absence to focus on school starting tomorrow (as long as Shouta complies with my request)

I'll miss you guys ;~;
Good for you Smedwicks. Its a good idea to focus on school. I'm sure dadwicks would be proud.
I'm enjoying Streets of Rage 3 so much, why do people not like this game?
Mostly people shitting on it in order to keep SOR2 on a pedestal. SOR3 is pretty great.
My main issue with it is the increased difficulty of the US version. Shit's too damn hard.

<3 Streets of Rage !

The music, the difficulty of the US version, racism, and some didn't like the art(well, I did)

Is the version included on the SVC compilation the US version?

Skate continues to be the best character

Hey, Sega's already porting one 6+ year old game to PC, what's another one? :V Frankly, I think that the arcade update makes the rumored PC version more likely, as the update would have a much lower marginal cost if they already have people poking around the code and assets for a PC version. That and if it's happening, AM2 is probably handling the port themselves, because they're super anal about that stuff. (unless they brought on a team AM2 trusts, like M2 or Sumo Digital).

I wouldn't mind if they did. I just don't see why they would put forth that effort towards a PC release given the very limited audience for VF outside of Japan.

I still remember people complaining about spending $15 for Final Showdown when it dropped in 2012. Plus the game has been on sale numerous times as well as being offered for free and people still won't give the game a try, so what is a PC release going to do?

Anyway, why aren't more people playing this game?

Not to mention I still have an MG Delta Plus unopened.. which I also intended to hand paint but fuck that now.

Hand painting is considered pretty inefficient. Just use cans! And I imagine the Delta to be an easy paint.

Well that's pretty disappointing to hear. I can handle a mild bit of moe before I get turned off completely :/

I only visit that thread occasionally now and rarely post because of the shift. Occasionally something interesting does show up, though.

What happens when Super Smash Bros "DLC" are amiibo.

We riot!

If you're talking about the Sega Vintage Collection re-release on XBLA, You can choose between all 3 regions in that release....

And now I'm sad that the SVC compilation it never came out on PSN. :(
I've got all the US versions on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3.

Someone recently told me their favourite was SOR1, and I just didn't believe them lol.
I just don't believe you
It's only ever 2 or 3 tho. 1 was pretty ghetto.
At one point Streets of Rage 1 was my favorite.
We were poor as fuck and we only had the Sega 6 pack on Genesis for the longest time.
>_>

Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite now though.

I can't get my hopes up anymore.

It'll be an announcement to announce that they plan to announce a new fighting game in 2015.

Please be excited.

My only problems are the difficulty in the NA release and the soundtrack isn't as great(still good though).

I liked the look of it. People hate the color pallates in the NA release but I don't.

Blaze all the way.

i wonder what the special announcements will be...

Ono retirement, SFIV Furry Edition last Street Fighter update for the rest of the decade, Neo_G and Itsuno confirmed to be working on mobile games, Niitsuma head of janitor squad

You know... I haven't seen Chris G or F Champ for awhile, and I thought I was keeping up with most of the important shit these days.

I'm morbidly curious as to what is going on with them lately.

It's cool of Capcom to strike a deal with Hilton San Fran for discounted hotel rates. But I did a quick check and my flight + hotel package with cheaptickets.com is cheaper. :D I'm still trying to figure out how to coordinate hanging out with some of you when I go out there. (I saw those who replied to my post in a previous FGW thread)

Getting pretty excited. Besides the amazing event, I've idolized CA since high-school (I live in FL so take that with a grain of salt). This is going to be a great experience!

Special announcements will be related to next year's CC stuff, I presume.

Capcom would only launch the media hype train for SF5 at a major conference, as they really, really need the next SF game to sell megabucks to justify their investment in the franchise. Squandering the launch on a stream to maybe 50k people and dosn't leave them with anything to say until next E3 or something would be really foolish.

That's pretty sick, are there any significant differences other than the difficulty? Someone said the color pallets are different?

Well Ono did tell the media to come to the event as it will be worth their while.

There's a potentially offensive queer stereotype character in the JP version. You beat them up and later can play as them.

I was browsing r/kappa and this is by far the strangest reward I have seen for winning a 8 man tournament, which Itabashi came out on top (or bottom in this case) of. I could see why Itabashi likes grapplers.

No nudity but NFSW.
Contains gym uniforms, camel clutches, and pelvic thrusting.

If Capcom can get into a Sony or Microsoft conference, maybe it would be worth their while to hit some casual viewer on Spike or whatever - but if it's just a Capcom stream during E3, there's no real difference between doing that and debuting at EVO. They'll hit all the same people, either watching live or sites like NeoGAF. Namco had no problem debuting Tekken 7 at EVO.

It might even be advantageous to wait. It's easy to get lost in the shuffle at E3, not so much in mid-July.
