I thought Arrow was supposed to be good?
It's entertainingly bad and pleases people like (DC fans) with a lot of references. But Person of Interest, Flash and Gotham are better as DC adaptions and as shows in general. Don't let ArrowGAF tell you otherwise. They just love the salmon ladder.

If you want a good superhero show, I'd say Agents of Shield is the best as of now. The start of the first season is rough, but not as bad as people would have you say and it'll go by quicker since you don't have to watch it weekly. But the second season is just killing it. Want a good superhero show? That's it.

Out of curiousity, what makes you say Flash is better?

Oh man, I'm still recording AOS, and saw the first two eps of season 2 which were great... But haven't continued watching since. I need to catch up.

Wait, is Gotham actually good?

Very, I'd say so. AoS is better, but it has the benefit of having survived the first season. I am the biggest batman fan around, and I expected gotham to be awful, and it is proving me very wrong. It's not flawless, but, yes, it's good.

Í like it. It has bad aspects, but they're luckily very minor. If you can get over a tad of cheesyness, you have an entertaining show about cops and organized crime (don't imagine the Wire, as I said, it's cheesy. The good kind).

The embracing of the comic roots. It just dives into the cheese and the actual purpose of the show. Olli needed three season to find himself, Flash did it within a few episodes.

I don't believe it. Even if she was disowned, somebody would've known about her. Then again, I can believe that the Earth Queen gave birth to her on the toilet and then just splashed her away.

But in general, I don't think that your theory will happen.
She might not be the queen's daughter, maybe she came from a disowned line of royal blood or something.

Nah, ARROWGAF loves this

Crazy idea but if they ever do another series after Korra, what if the antagonist was someone who was the only person on the planet with a special bending power?

Like it was some kind of rare spiritual power that gave a person the ability to bend space/gravity itself? They'd be able to scare people with a bending power that not even the Avatar has and would be pretty crazy to see how the Avatar would have to handle that.

I probably sound crazy for this but I just came up with the idea catching up on this season lol

Hm....I suppose. Arrow is one of those "I'm so sorry I'm a superhero show" adaptations, where as Flash just embraces it's superheroishness. I just think adaptations shouldn't be merely recreations of comic roots, but refinements of them. Comics have Flash's powers fluctuating based on plot, but an adaptation should have more rules set to it. There was a scene in the second or third episode where Barry literally stopped time to talk to Iris for like a whole minute, and like 5 minutes later he gets the shit kicked out of him because he can't handle 6 guys at once.

Ugh. You know, that was actually one of the most hilarious things to come out of Arrow and I could have a good laugh over how stupid his flips are.

Then Arrowgaf posted them over and over and over for the last 50 pages of the thread. Barry couldn't run that joke harder into the ground.

So, you want Pain from Naruto to cross over?

That is a problem, I agree. But that problem is in the core concept of Flash that you can't easily get rid od. You can only accept this inconsistency for the sake of entertainment. Otherwise fights would get generally super boring or the enemies would scale up to insane levels. And I love my rogues.

Flash's Rouges are pretty famous for being awesome, but despite being a huge DC fan, I'm not sure where to start with them comics wise. And I don't really remember them in the JL cartoons besides Gorilla Grodd. Still, I refuse to believe they couldn't have set some ground rules or atleast would choose to avoid scenes that outright contradict his powers like that Iris one (Which was extremely pointless as everyone already knows how much he wants to smang her). But they didn't, and that's a big lump for me to get over. Superhero's are basically impossible to do without some allowances in suspension of disbelief, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't even try.

Edit: If you have flash recommendations you know of, feel free to PM me them.

Right so, back to the show at hand. It feels like Mako go quietly phased out of the show for the time being. He'll be back because of what was shown in the trailed but still.

I feel like Korra's one of the more well rounded avatars. She uses her native element the least and her combat style is balanced. I don't know if that's good or bad. Because she's a jack of all trades, master of none, her feats are less impressive. Aang was inventing airscooters and bending clouds, Toph bent metal and held up a library, Katara froze rain in midair and could bloodbend, and while Korra can do some of those things, a lot of her moves seem basic.

I think Arrow is easily the best between Gotham, Flash and itself. I like all three though. Arrow and Korra are my two favorite current shows at the moment.

Back to Korra, Really digging Kuvira so far. I'm hoping the situation with Varrick and Jhu Li is some sort of fake out. Especially because she said he never appreciated her but I believe he said in season 2 he's nothing without Jhu Li.

He may have been talking about his battleship though.

I think Varrick being a dick in the episode was too heavy handed and over the top. They really needed to push that point in.

I'd say korra is a fairly decent metalbender now after getting some "lessons" from Toph. Especially considering according to Su that Aang never got the hang of metalbending so Korra is the first ever avatar to metalbend.
Also she's technically the only person in the world who has the ability to Spirit bend now.

If Korra throws an airship at Kuvira then I'll accept that as an awesome feat.

Ha not too hard a task for avatar state Korra. She just needs to go into avatar state again as she was throwing some pretty big rocks at Zaheer during that Book 3 finale.

I'll hop on the DC sidetrack for a bit:

I'm enjoying Arrow, since I didn't expect it to be very good to begin with. Yes, eye candy helps, but the story is entertaining and even though the 22 episode format is horrible because it just produces overly long romantic drama (although not as bad as some people make it out to be). The action is great, and when it's bad, it's not for too long. As far as superhero small screen adaptations go, it's better than what's been out there in the last couple of years. The Lance sisters need to shut up
(I know Sarah later dies)

Haven't gotten to The Flash yet, since I'm still at Season 2 of Arrow and trying to follow the story in order.

Gotham, I've liked, despite having serious flaws at the beginning, but it's finding its footing, although I have to wait for the entire season to be over. But it's definitely not for non-Batman fans or non-superhero fans for that matter. There are plenty of better crime-drama's out there, I guess.

And Agents of Shield... I'm only going to take it up again because Marvel is making me, by linking it to the MCU. I know it's gotten better, but I have other series to watch, good ones on cable, mostly.

She threw like half a mountain at Zaheer multiple times while she was in rage mode. Too bad this season won't end like that.

Is it weird that I can't get into Gotham because my only gripe is the huge opportunity they missed with keeping the Waynes alive for a season?

No. It's better than the boring train ride that was the first 13 episodes of the AOS, but it's not a good show. There are interesting bits here and there so it's not a complete waste.

Surprised you made it that far, couldn't get past 3 episodes. Skye is dangerously close to being a Mary Sue.
