WWE 2K15 First Footage and Gameplay changes

I keep reading that this game is a rehash of the previous years iterations in many ways, but what if I never played those? My last wrasslin' game was No Mercy. Would I have fun with this?

I find the games fun but as a proper emulation of wrasslin' it does fall short at times. Poor animation transitions are a big culprit. Then again, No Mercy had its own set of problems as well for the time and we all loved the shit out of that game.

From a technical aspect the Yukes games are lacking but some of the previous entries have more than made up for issues with the creation suite and robust amount of content.

2k15 seems to be lacking some of that content with the transition to next gen. That's probably the biggest disappointment for me.

I haven't seen the shows in about 2 months because of work and moving. I'm just now getting through night of Champs. But, yes slater gator and that theme. Lawd, that's good!

The hoard is going to say no and then accuse me of being a 2K shill but...

Try it, you might be surprised. I thought the games were pretty mediocre from 2008-2011 or so, but they started making notable improvements to the gameplay in 2012 and on. They're fun to play now.

I think 13 and 14 would probably be more fun, since they have huge legends rosters and more interesting story modes. Less glitchy, even though they are both really glitchy.

The games are fun with friends and beer. Unfortunatly, they're not so great on your own as the engine just isn't that hot whereas other games wrestling engine is so fun, I can smash out game after game and wonder where the time has gone.

Honestly, if they add that match rating to Universe mode and it had TV ratings, I'd probably do that again.

I think from an overall sandbox content perspective 14 would be best. They are shutting down the WWE 13 servers so people won't be able to download community creations.

Is it likely they have done much gameplay changes this time around, or is it mainly visual?
I've not had a WWE game since the PS2 days so I don't really know what to expect, but if people like the gameplay as it is, it would seen they can't go wrong there?

I hope in the retail version the hands are a little bit better tuned, in the short glimpse it looked like they were hovering during the grappling, but that could be me. It was too short to really get a good view at.

@Wreav

I legitimately think 2K14 is great. Though I'm happy to overlook the engine flaws due to the fact that customization is the best I've ever seen. 2K15 has taken a huge step back on customization so tread carefully. Either get 2K14 now or wait for the next-gen review of 2K15.

Either that or he's going to be like Karl Rove on Election Night 2012. Either way it should be interesting. I'll take my licks if the game blows. (I think the Gamespot footage looks good as well.)

I'm afraid I've got some bad news.

You're going to get licked a lot. The first WWE games on a next-gen platform are always garbage. PS2, 360, now this.

A thread that reinforces why Bobo gets pissed.

A new moves vid "hopefully" coming this week.

It's less than two weeks before the game releases.

Yep, I'm in agreement here. Whoever is in charge of 2K's marketing is an idiot. From the IGN First failure to the roster reveal to now, it's just been one giant fuckup that is creating skepticism instead of hype.

I think the game looks pretty good, so I can't figure out why they aren't just flooding the internet with gameplay now.

Are they not aware that there are like five other major franchise releases coming out on the exact same day, including GTA from their own company?

There is no excuse for that. The game is out soon. It's not like they can't just make a frggin' video

They have a plan and they need to stick to it.

Is the current-gen version going to have a day one patch? If so, someone should do that thing Digital Foundry did and try the game without it. I'm assuming the current-gen version was delayed because they couldn't get it out on time, which implies they weren't done.

I don't think it will be done when released. Especially if the original plan was to release it in March.

The March release thing was just speculation, I don't think there is any solid evidence that that was ever the plan.

2K originally announced the game for release in fiscal 2015 which goes from October to April or so. Game Informer then speculated that maybe they were releasing around Wrestlemania.

FYI, 2K originally announced WWE 2K14 for Fiscal 2014 not long after they got the license in 2013, so it just fell in line with their usual timelines.

I am getting a little worried about the fact they aren't answering questions about Diva CAW or Create an Arena. Those are two unknowns that I really want to be in.
I had similar worries going into Halo 4 and what was taken out. Months and weeks leading in people had wondered if a particular weapon, gametype, or map is in, but nothin was ever said. Turns out it was removed, but thanks for letting us know so late!

It's obviously slower paced than before. The stamina is going to pay a big part in how things go throughout the match. They haven't really touched on that much. The Creation Suite video was fairly empty too, outside showing the uploading scans.

Man that footage is so stiff and lifeless. I was really looking forward to this but it's such a mess and I can't support the removal of features. No create an entrance, really?

Has there been any new info released lately regarding gameplay or universe mode? I'm thinking of getting the deluxe edition, but that all hinges on improvements in both areas.

I won't spend $80 if universe mode is the same as it was in 2013 in which the same cutscenes popped up and storylines broke on a consistent basis.

Am I the only one that notices the stuttering and frame rate issues? These things will never be fixed since the game is gold and Yukes never fixes anything once the game is gold. Patches will only be done to add dlc.

Just saw the footage, I saw a lot of stiffness and framerate issues.

At this point, looks like ill be skipping this series once again this year.

Stardust will be in 2K16, and by that point he'll probably be back to being Cody Rhodes!

Next year they will state they listened to fan feedback and removed the crawling mechanic to include Stardust. Please understand they are building the foundation and they purged all the old code. They also have a plan to unstuck info from their ass and it's going to plan when retailers will have the game in a week.

I'm fairly sure that I will end up cancelling my Hulkamania edition and wait for the standard one to be on the cheap and then get that and the season pass plus Sting and Hogan when they are available.

Probably the best idea if must get it.

Seems like the smart thing to do. The game is always on sale on Black Friday or leading up to Christmas. Usually for $29.99.

Editing their attire does. I don't know if there's a separate Superstar Threads to the hinted at full edit of the roster models, but the latter does take up a CAW spot for sure.
It's really bad that so close to release, such features have yet to be discussed, really bad managment towards the community

I still don't think you will get any gameplay until someone gets the game from a retailer early next Thursday and starts stelreaming to twitch. Think about this. 2k picked that Roman vs Orton footage as the best they could get to show off gameplay.
