Korra should just kill herself so the avatar cycle restarts and hope it goes to someone who doesn't suck next time. I can't believe she lost in a fair 1v1. The entire point of the Avatar is completely moot. Asami has a better win ratio than she does ffs.

Korra has a lot of raw power but her technique is terrible. Kuvira danced around her.
Looked like Kuvira was just about to do that before being interrupted.
But it's totally understandable why Korra didn't stand a chance in this fight. She's being out of the game for a long long time and was still suffering from the effects of the mercury till just recently.
Doesn't help also that she the person she was fighting was Kuvira.
Hitler? None of her politics are like Hitler and the strategies of the Weirmarch can be pinned on specific generals.
She's more a hybrid of Hannibal Barca and Julius Caesar.

Ehhhhhh, outcome was pretty obvious, but it was still painful to see Korra getting her ass whipped.
Su is an idiot, and it like how it pushed Korra between a brick wall. Kuvira wasn't ready to negotiate after what Su pulled so Korra had to resort to force which reminded me of Aang. So now that her hotheadedness is cooled, she just needs to work on gaining confidence and not losing. This battle will probably take its toll on her.
Other than that, not much happened. The Varrick stuff was meh, super weapon blah blah bomb boom ahhhhhh okay. Kuvira isn't bombing anything when Korra gets her shit together.

Really? Kuveira seemed to win pretty badly in the large rock pushing contest. Jinora and Opal did a AOE Wind move that seems way more impressive, effective and powerful than Korra's crappy punches. She uses no mobility even though we know she can use the air ball technique, she hs no strength as we see her lose with earth vs earth pushing, she has no technique as we never see her do any special moves or even redirect the metal bangs towards Kuveria even though she knows how to metal bend. She's useless in every single way, gets outclassed, goes Avatar state and still manages to trip over her own feet. In the end she has to get saved by some kids.
And it's not even an impressive fight, Toph's bending in ATLA is way more powerful, Katara's water bending allows her to do crazy stuff with just a bottle of water, Azula used the fire bending rocket fists and lightning bending, that swamp bender controlled water so well he could move an entire network of vines. Korra waves her hands around and manages to hit nothing.

that fight was a joke. this show is pretty boring. i just watch every episode on routine now, but i really dont care about it anymore. kuvira is typically one-note, everything is predictable, and they are dragging it out for way too long.

Actually I think Korra almost won that rock pushing battle, which is what led Kuvira to just flat out crush the boulder in her face. Korra isn't exactly weak, but she's quite terrible in actually using it in her fights.
I actually said a lot of stuff about the fight in an earlier post:
korra got her shit rocked! I actually enjoyed the fight. Kuvira pretty much just danced around Korra. She read her moves and pretty much made sure she couldn't even touch her. Korra doesn't seem to have an ounce of grace or refinement to her bending, she seems like a blunt instrument. Kuvira needs more fight scenes! It's also nice to see that Kuvira really adapted her technique around her armor, was also nice to see more classic combat forms in the fight, those two sure know how to strike a pose.

Her city suffers because she decided to retreat instead of taking charge. Now Kuvira is walking around getting shit done, and she's upset? Yeah right. Get out of here. You deserve to get your domes dismantled. I cannot believe she tried to get the Avatar to fix her fuck up. Also, I really don't care for Opal and her family. Whatevs. More Airbending kids please.
ohmygosh now it finally happened. I'll admit, I was sad to see Korra get her ass kicked around like that. But she's still suffering a bit on the mental side, and the poison was just taken out. Plus, she's been out of it for three years. It makes sense she would lose to a walking deity and lord Kuvira. So when she finally entered the Avatar state, I was really happy to see her lay one on Kuvira. I miss the firey girl I used to know. But hopefully this development will be for the better. I want to see Korra lay it on her the next time they fight. Just like this:
Kuvira is one smug, cocky-slash-confident (depending on your point of view), powerful fighter. And it was AWESOME seeing her taunt Korra like that throughout the battle. She is so precise. On point throughout the battle, while Korra was all over the place. But what scares me is seeing Kuvira with her hair down all screwy like that. You know what other villain had her crazy hair down? Yeah. I hope Kuvira doesn't go screw-loose. Either way, she straight up tried to kill Korra. Full villain status now. No going back. What's funny is that Kuvira is all like, "Yo, babe, you can use the silly Avatar state if you need to, k?" Then proceeds to get her ass whipped when she actually does enter it. She better learn from that. Also, Zelda Williams delivering as usual.
Humor was spot on throughout the episode. Skrillex and the kids painting was great. Bolin and Varrick are a great team. It seems he's finally coming around for his assistant. Bataar Jr. is still a sore asswipe. He's a sad, sad, man. His dad should've smacked him in the meeting earlier. What's his deal? He's afraid of living in his dad's shadow? The hell? He should be thankful to have the man as his father if he believes he's so great to be living in his shadow. And what's up with his constant growling. It's comical. It's like all I'm seeing is his outer Meelo.
Also the music. Do I even need to say anything about it at this point? It was just perfect for the first battle between the two. Low-key, no need for the epic drums, but when Avatar Korra kicked in, it got real. The buildup to the end from the surrender onwards was fantastic, too. One heck of a cut to credits.
Julius FUCKING Caesar? Now that's a comparison I can get behind.

The fight was what I was expecting, but I had hoped that they would do something out of the ordinary, like have Korra have some kind of strategy/plan. She knew that she's been in retirement for over 3 years and that Kuvira is the strongest Earthbender aside from Toph, and she clearly wasn't planning on having to use the Avatar State considering how long she held off on it. But with all that said, her line of thinking doesn't really make any sense.
Aside from the fight, the rest of the episode was okay, but I was expecting something big to happen with a title like that.

It was hilarious that Korra only managed to touch Kuvira when she used her cheat code. Kuvira taunts her opponents like a true Sith Lord.
Just wait, Korra will land a few WITHOUT the Avatar state next time they fight.

Well with Suyin being captured it did force a fight which Korra was trying to avoid and hadn't prepared for but yeah she could have at least tried to come up with some sort of battle plan than just "i'm sure my pent up rage will carry me through this fight".

I still enjoyed this episode, except for the fight against Kuvira. It was so frustrating. KORRA, DO MORE THAN SHOOT THIN PROJECTILES! She has Pro-Bending on the mind way too much, there was zero creativity in her bending. Korra, make a rock suit. Korra, make a fire twister. Korra, do something besides shoot thin projectiles.
Kuvira stays the best, Meelo is still hilarious, Varrick keeps it real, and Zhu Li is playing that long con.
