I'm perfectly okay with TF2 style games, but I thought I'd pose a question to FGW, do you ever see lineups of selectable characters for other multiplayer genres like MOBAs or such and immediately imagine a fighting game of it and get a little sad that it's not the case?

Someone brought up the idea of Anarchy Reigns 2, and that was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this group shot.

Bayo 2 is so amazing.

Damn right it is.

Hell YEAH bro

Man, I kinda regret replaying the first first now ( ._.)

It's probably the only big game that's come out this year that wasn't a disappointment.

I enjoyed South Park and Donkey Kong a lot as well, no disappointment with those two. Mario Kart 8 was also a lot of fun, though that might be because my expectations weren't as high for it.

Yes and yes. I love the character design. Yes it's incorporating tropes and archetypes but its very well done.

this seems familiar

JC flat out plagiarizing

Is anyone here importing Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax? I'm about to pre-order from Nippon Yassan and was wondering if anyone found a better deal.

I haven't, is nippon-yasan a reliable site to import from?

So follow up on that UNiEL vid, if you're into the game you should probably watch it. Has the #1: Gord, Wald, Eltnum(#1 player period), Carmine in it (off the top of my head). You can see a lot of wild stuff in it. Gord being further optimized is ridiculous, that character might be in his own tier at this rate. The tier discussion in Japan was pretty interesting lately, things like Wald not quite being S tier while Vatista is considered S tier in some cases. Anyways, the game still developed further after console release so that's a fun thing.

Anyways here's the link again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_7XAoylOvE

Kind of reminds me of how 3s is still evolving there. Don't know how true it is, but I heard they don't consider Ken top tier anymore and Yang is making his way up the tiers.

Yes. Sometimes they may ship a day or two late. and their slow shipping is really really slow. prices are great.

But eventually you just gotta set up Tenso and move to amazon.jp for games stuff. The cost of Amazon + Tenso is usually better than everything else, though you do lose the day or two for it to get from amazon to tenso before it ships to you.

In this case it looks like nippon-yasan is cheaper, Tenso came out to about $80 total, surprisingly. My (now canceled) play-asia order was about $75. So nippon-yasan definitely looks like the way to go.

I wish Blizzard would make a fighter. :(

They can't even make a decent Dota clone, which is pretty much a fighting game mixed with the shit they supposed to be good at. (RTS and Diablo)

I'm interested in Overwatch though. Solely because I think TF2 is complete ass nowadays

I'm glad I edited that "usually", heh.

I've had great experiences ordering from N-Y. There are occasional stories of orders getting messed up or not shipping (see the New 3DS thread) but never mine.

Depends. Do not import figures from them. FigureGAF already had that site selling bootlegs on some of their shipments.

I've heard reports of things not being backed well and getting damaged, but anything like a normal game should be fine.

I usually assume that's what people mean anyway.

Ooooh, so this is that site from that one incident. Yeah, it's kind of hard to send you a bootleg game for the PS3, lol. For games the worst I've experienced from anybody is loose discs which usually doesn't matter because of the disc's coating.

Watching that UNIEL tourney Anne posted a page back. That was grimy, Senaru.

Blockstring with 5A > 2C > 5B > 2B Reload, Chain Shift to react to their mash, and did 421C lol

You mean just wanting other IPs to get a fighting game?

Sometimes, sometimes not. I have difficulty drawing up what fighting game mechanics would look like for some of these IPs, even though a lot of them have cool stuff that could be manipulated to make for some cool moves (i.e. biotics in ME).

More often than not, I see IPs and wonder what it'd be like to have action adventure games made out of them.

Based on every criteria, who would you consider the single best fighting game player in history thus far? There can be many debates and arguments here.

I personally think it's far too early to suggest so but Justin Wong is obviously up there. The thing is a lot of people who could be on the list is still going strong and some of these players have actually fallen back a little. Daigo for example only seems to be playing SFIV and nothing else. I think the safest answer is Tokido but I don't remember him winning the big one like a few others has despite being the best player with the most high level play in many games.

I think Noah, the 8 year old Tekken player, Sako's kid, the blind MK player, Evilore, the trash lady from Super Arcade, and Mago's cat would all beat Yams in a fighting game kumite.

Justin won MvC2 when like 4 people were playing and otherwise has only won in MvC3 which doesn't count.

So I'd go with somebody like Fuudo or Tokido over him any day of the week.

It has to be a Japanese player hands down, no one in America can even touch them in terms of being one of the best players of all time except for Justin even though he's not as old as a few of them, or is he?

And I wouldn't deny it, I mash to win with games I know nothing about.

Edit:

God damn, inception just happened with the two posts above me.
