Are there any more comparison videos or gifs that show they didn't really update anything. I think we've all seen the PS3/PS4 entrance comparisons where they use the exact same animations. We've seen the creation video where all they use is the same on the phone animation that was the only remaining animation that didn't belong to an existing wrestler in 2k15 for PS3. We've seen the story mode/my career comparison from earlier now. What am I missing?
-edit- I also found out the commentary is exactly the same on PS3/360 and PS4/XB1, so the additional 5,000 lines of commentary is entirely bullshit or mostly relegated to the showcase/nxt modes where the commentary is entirely scripted at certain points in the match and always happens in the exact same spots if the PS3 version is anything to go by.

It smells like shit, but I'll eat it anyway. I want a PS4 anyway for some upcoming games. I figure a redbox rental or Black Friday sale if it's $29 would make it worthwhile. No way I'd pay $60+ for it. These games have an extremely limited shelf life for me as the gameplay isn't fun. Usually I just beat the story modes and never touch them again.
I'm hoping to at least get a face and heel playthrough out of it. But yeah, generally there's not a heck of a lot of replayability in the story mode; at least from what I remember of the old ones.
This may be my inner fanboy talking, but there are times I think I'd gladly give up voice acting to be able to do "what if" playthroughs inserting your CAW into the 80's/early 90's and Attitude eras.

It's just crazy that over all these years the games just keep getting less fun to actually play. Do they even listen to fan feedback? Who wanted a pin sliding bar mini game? Who wants an analog stick grapple mini game? Who asked for this reversal system? Where are they getting these ideas from?

I went through the entire SmackDown vs RAW period skipping every other year and was a far bigger wrestling fan at the time, not everyone is such a glutton for punishment. And I actually look back at that period more positively because as other people complained about this and that being removed every year, at two years apart it was the new features that stood out. You skip this transition year, you're probably going to enjoy 2K16 a lot more.
Yeah, would have probably resisted this one until it was in pre-owned bargain bins at least if it wasn't bought for me. Like I've said though, even at their worst, they're great drinking with friends games.

I saw that already and just because they used a version of the engine doesn't mean the team that made that game is the same as the people who made the wrestling games at the same developer.

WWE Day of Reckoning Models look nearly as good or even better than that tbh, if you had a creative touch you could seriously create some insane looking CAWs on those games. Take a character creation system like Black Desert Online, combined with the sheer amount of options from the early Smackdown! games and a crap load of slots ala Fire Pro Wrestling (+ being able to make monsters, aliens and other deformities and oddities like the WWF games) with accompanying modes to utilize them and my money would be doubly departed.
There is so much potential and unexplored territory in this genre in terms of ideas, game mechanics and diversity it's ridiculous.
