I think what really sells me on this girl is her competitive attitude. Spunk for days and gorgeous. Very marketable. This is Nintendo's chance to sweep the competitive fanbase completely under the rug like they've always wanted to and put her front and center.

Someone should introduce her to Melee.

How can you not be? Smash is a really user friendly game. You just need to practice and always play with a purpose behind your moves. Only recommended if that's something you would enjoy though.

easily some people can still be bad at something no matter how much you practice.

knowing "gamers" she's like 2 wins away from getting a gamergate campaign against her

Not getting into gamergate. I don't understand it. My first memories of gaming is of it bringing my friends, my brothers and I together. (That sounds like something Iwata would say) Is like this gaming event, a lot of different people coming together to enjoy and celebrate gaming is great. That's all the movement that gaming will ever be for me. Everything else is just not intrinsic to gaming. I'll just continue to ignore it.

This generation of kids these days, mastering to the point of insanity.
I remember going to Fan Expo Canada a while back. I think 4 years ago or 3?

Anyway they had a Halo 3 booth and there was this 10 year old kid, if you can beat him in a match you can get any game free at the Zellers store. This kid would no scope everyone and would win every match.

"Greetings, Smashfighter! You have been Recruited by the Smash League to to defend the Nintendo frontier against Master Hand and the Subspace Armada!"

Well this is the best way to show that Smash games have no depth. :P

I kid. I only played PAS on Vita and this game was the most brainless buttonsmasher I ever witnessed. Dunno if Smash Bros plays the same. If yes then ... welp

smash bros has way more depth than playstation all star.

Don't know anything about Smash but this sounds like a cute story. Looking at the videos, I can see she is doing well even without knowing the game.

It's pretty funny how a lot of preconceived Smash purists on multiple communities will write off the chance of a new generation and fresh blood leading the pack on a new game when we have shit like this going down.

Stuff like this is one of the reasons I want to see this game do well competitively - newcomers to the scene getting a chance at besting the old guards and showing them how it's done.

Oh please, those folks will write off anything if they can't pull the shit they do on Melee to other games. Like-minded echo-chambers is a thing to the fanbase. Introduce something different? They will do mental gymnastics to tell you that they're not trying to say something is bad while at the same time telling you that their preference is superior.

I love how midway someone pointed out she had opened the "Sharingan" followed by "I thought Naruto was over". It's was a surreal moment for them when she was able to pick up Diddy Kong simply by observing hence the "Sharingan" reference.

I told you guys Smash is a party game

seriously, she's got talent. She should totally look into playing Smash 4, M, and Melee competitively

I love this kind of thing. The minds of children are pretty amazing. They are completely wired to learn so if there is something they really want to focus on it can be shocking how fast and thorough they pick something up. If only we had the wisdom at that age to realize that.

I don't get what is so surprising when adults get rocked at fighting games by kids. I never went to a tournament but I was much better at street fighter as a kid than I am now. When I was playing against my dad, he would try all kids of cheese to win and I would perfect him. Now I get owned by cheese. Adults get obsessed with meta game, match ups and bread and butter where as it just flows for kids.

Still remember when the top street fighter player in France( I think) got rocked by a kid with a controller.

oh she's so cute! I have nieces almost that age who are also big gamers, but never got into fighters. they play minecraft and stuff like that -- and the extent that they learn stuff in these games astounds me. because I see these kids, in a way, still as like -- the loaf of bread in a car seat they used to be. but they're actually little people with minds that are steel traps. you don't really think about it or appreciate it until you're over 30, but kids really have amazing minds.

good call

I'm disappointed in all the people trying to talk down her skill by saying shit like "they weren't pros though" "Smash is a button masher with no skill" "If a kid can beat an adult that means that the adult sucks of the game takes no skill".

Please, before making these comments either watch some of the videos or know a thing or two about Smash. Yeah, it's not the most complex competitive game out there but if you are better at the game than someone else you will body them (unless items are on then there is some luck involved sometimes). It's not "mashy" as if you mash you'll end up pretty much stuck in one place doing attacks that wont hit and giving your opponent the chance to get easy hits and throws on you.

She's legit good. Get over it.

It's quite embarrassing but not unexpected. This isn't the thread for that kind of messy bullshit.
