Nintendo could make her a star and really play into current trends surrounding self respecting women who can protect themselves

Man, I love young killers. They're so fun for the community.

Hopefully she continues to compete as she as gets older and becomes a staple at tourneys. E-sports needs more females.

The overwhelming majority of people have absolutely nothing against that.
Yes, even among "gamers".

Hell, I would guess you'd be hard pressed to find someone hostile toward this girl even among some the most blatant misogynists in the gaming community, because for most of them their ordinary display of misogyny is for a larger part some sort of reactionary "over-defensiveness" against what they perceive as "fem-nazis" threating their hobbies.

Or do you actually think that the average, normal, non-sociopath males hate the mere idea of any individual of female gender getting close to videogames as a hobby?

This isn't about "the overwhelming majority" as you yourself stated:

Uh, no?

Why should she get "hate" from anyone
, exactly? In what fictional world do you live?

It's about "anyone."

Even the most cursory google search brings up this topic "Karissa EXPOSED" from GameFAQS:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/70529807

proving yourself wrong, and embarrassing "gamers" once again.

It would be awesome if Nintendo made a commercial with her in it. Especially since it seems like she has already appeared in other commercials assuming that what others have said is true.

Holy shit. Karissa destroys it all.

Skeptical about this being a viral marketing ploy tbh

I'm starting to think that this girl was abducted by Nintendo from birth and trained in a lab to play Smash Bros her entire life for the purposes of promoting Smash 4.

That's how inexplicably good she is.

Man those videos were great!

lol @ the conspiracy theorists and people saying its cause smash is a button masher. She's legit great!

I understand the 10 year old thing, but is the person being a girl a talking point?
Well, even a 10 years old male capable of beating a lot of experienced players in a public event would hardly get ignored.
I guess she being a girl (and little cute one as well) just makes her stand out even more.
So yeah, it's probably a talking point.

This is amazing.

I just wish it wasn't Diddy for most of the video, though it doesn't take away from how amazing it is.

We merely adopted Smash. She was born in it, molded by it.
This is the only way I can explain this. She likely has an advantage because she's been playing since she could hold a controller. Early brain development tends to build in practiced habits much faster than practice later in life. Sort of like how I'm better than most new players in Mario Kart because I've played every one since first picking up an SNES controller at 5 years old.

What is a Frametrap?

Frame Trap: A sequence of attacks designed to make the opponent think they have a good opportunity to attack, when they are actually in a poor position to attack. Almost always refers to Counterhit Setups.
