Would it really have been that different if they pulled this stunt with a 10 yr old boy instead?

People are making a big deal about this. Now if they had faked her skill by let's say having someone else control the character behind a hidden booth then yea that shit would've been super fraudulent.

100% agree with this. My personal disappointment with this if Kai's post is true is coming from people like D1x and others hyping it up when IF this was true they would have had to have known about it. Who can you trust etc. Yet another drama filled weekend for the FGC.

It would still be obnoxious and stupid, but the rebound effect from getting exposed wouldn't be dealing damage in terms of "oh, just as I thought girls can't play anyway."

But that's not what is happening is here, everyone knows she plays well enough. If some gamefaqs kids want to call her a fraud over this then well that's on them.

Again this is all assuming the skill on display was genuine and not some guy playing beyond closed doors.
 
I'm more disappointed that her spirited pop offs and confidence were an act than I am that she wasn't really beating those people.

Yeah of course... but the fact is if it was staged it also makes it not hard to believe for me that a video was being played or someone was using a Wavebird controller or something. :/

The problem is that it becomes a legitimate question now. And that sucks. Reddit also found her in a commercial- she is a child actress by profession.
 
Disappointed if true that she wasn't really playing the game. Some people in the other thread are saying there are signs of foul play.

Personally I have more issue with the guys going out of their way to expose this than I do with the actual staged event.
