Sonic Boom Street Date (and fans' hearts) Broken

Knew this was gonna be shit since BRB revealed the designs.

I have faith in the Unleashed/Generations team though, the game they're working on will probably be announced after Sonic Boom is out of the way.
Was that made by them or the Cartoon studio working on the animated series? I honestly think the designs are fine.
Buff Knuckles is best Knuckles

Also, do we know if Sonic Team is still split in 2? I think the colors team made Lost World, but did the generations team join up with them?
I don't think the generations team is much better. Unleashed was mostly bad, and it wasn't until Colors that the 3D boost gameplay was done well. I don't really want a Generations 2 as a lot of people are asking for. I kind of want SEGA to evolve the franchise, the boost gameplay doesn't feel like it should be the highest point for 3D modern sonic
LW was good in concept, flawed in execution and the next step for 3D Sonic is definitely not this

Ok, stuff like this is awful in such a different way that now I'm interested. This could be The Room of video games. Which would be the best Sonic game ever.

I've always considered Sonic 06 to be the Room of video games. It takes itself way too seriously, it's laughably bad, but it's not so bad that it's completely unplayable.

You're assuming there won't be another Sonic game on Wii U. I think that'd be a mistake, if ASRT's sales between all platforms showed us, ignoring Wii U wouldn't be wise all things considered.

Not only that, has a family game done anything notable on PS4 and XO? You certainly don't think of colorful platformers when you think of those consoles.

I'm actually curious if the next Sonic will be on Wii U.
You mention family games. The Lego games have done better on U and so did another franchise (Infinity maybe?) But does Sonic fall into that demographic?

It wouldn't bomb at least I think. I doubt it'll come to Wii U though.

Id still rather play this than dragon age, destiny, cod, assassins creed etc.

It's funny seeing you manchilds pick apart a game that's not even aimed at you

You can have a game aimed at a younger audience that's still of very good quality.

Quality and age barrier isn't mutually exclusive.

We do have that sign that predated Boom's uneiling by a few days that showed a 2015 Sonic on all three consoles. My bet's on the next Sumo game being it. giving Sonic Team an extra year on the 25th anniversary game for 2016.

Oh and obviously Rio Olympics as well should be on cue.

I remember a time I was a massive Sega fanboy and Sonic was one of my fav series.

Since then, children who were born can now legally go night clubbing.

Here's a piece of trivia, did you know that Sonic has NEVER since debuting on GC with SA2 skipped a year on a Nintendo home console?

It's true! Take a look:

2002 - SA2
2003 - SADX
2004 - Heroes
2005 - Shadow
2006 - Riders
2007 - Secret Rings, Beijing
2008 - Unleashed, Zero Gravity
2009 - Black Knight, Vancouver
2010 - Colors, All-Star Racing
2011 - London
2012 - All-Star Racing Transformed
2013 - Lost World, Sochi
2014 - Boom
2015 - Rio? Sumo game???

Yeah, Sonic's not going anywhere from Nintendo consoles.

And the only games that ever skipped Nintendo consoles but were on other consoles since 2002 were: Sonic '06 (planned for Wii but re-purposed as Secret Rings), Free Riders, Generations (did get a 3DS release), Sonic 4 Ep 2.

For some reason, this thread really makes me want to give in and finally pick up Lost World...

Maybe this is Sega's plan? To get an outside company to create a Sonic game SO bad, so putrid on every level, that their in-house games suddenly look far superior.

Yeah, I don't see why so many are sure it will.
Edit: 2010 was a good year for gaming. Even for Sonic

Ha, Sega does what Nintendon't - Mario skipped 2006 on consoles. Well, according to Mario Wiki.
