I grew up in a COGIC household. That video is all kinds of accurate. Lots of gay shamming at my old church. A homosexual was once chased out of the church by my grandma. One of the reasons why I don't go there anymore.


The music and dancing were always entertaining though.

Well most protestant denominations I know of don't even have the concept of mortal or venial sins(all of your sins are washed away when you accept christ as your savior, according to the theology), and the Catholic Church does allow for mortal sins to be forgiven through good works and acts of contrition.

The only unforgivable sin according to the bible is blaspheming the holy ghost, IIRC..

This is not blasphemy in the usual sense though, in the context used in the bible, this is meant for people who personally witnessed the holy spirit perform miracles but still reject and mock them.

Sure, some parts of the Old Testament can be interpreted that way if using outdated translations! And then there's a couple of dubious passages written by Paul in the NT. Most mentions in the NT aren't even mentions (usually Sodomite is mistranslated as homosexual where the sins of Sodom have nothing whatsoever to do with homosexuality).

If you're Jewish, I'd suggest being anti-gay and anti-shellfish etc is relatively reasonable. But if you're Christian, being anti-gay is not reasonable.

I admit I laughed at first, that explanation is sort of hilarious, but man it's just so sad that he just can't accept himself and that his environment can't accept him as he is.

Sort of on topic, there was a story recently in a Finnish magazine Me naiset ("Us women") about a gay man who had had all sorts of troubles. Then his friend took him to church and he embraced Jesus and became straight and now he's married to a woman.
However, even in that story he admits that he still misses men a lot.
It's really, really sad.

Beside the obvious insanity, what the hell is going on there? The repetitive music, people dancing weird tap dancing, everyone stretching their hands into the air. Does this also mean everyone in attendance is hateful towards homosexuals?
