Regarding FGC death threat related stuff.

On 4chan, someone pointed out to me that a death threat was put on my head. I didn't take it seriously at first until the OP started posting personal information, then later a picture of my front door.

It was creepy/weird and I ended up taking it to local authorities who scoped out the situation and provided a lot of support/advice.

Eventually it went away. But yeah, it's not cool. Even if a prank.

It's probably one of the tripcode users on /fgg/. They tend to take a whole lot of shit too far. That's still fucked up though.

This is pretty fucked up. People tend to chill after they get the right reaction they want to elicit it seems though.

Man, the internet is a really scary place. I still get paranoid about shit like this sometimes.

Sanford took that loss really well. Good on him. He seems much happier now that he has a sponsor.

if all it takes is some goon throwing e cig chicken money at you to make you happy, you certainly have a charmed existence. i definitely envy that lol

maybe the happiness comes from knowing he'll be having dinner tonight regardless of a loss

Well from reading some r/kappa and looking at some pictures of Sanford actually has a construction job. So he probably is in a good spot in his life and can be content with what he has. I don't know how people can live off weekly tournament winnings like they have done before in EMP, you don't even get a full weeks worth of pay and there is no guarantees.

Really sorry to hear that. Makes me want to spend less time online. I don't seem to recall things being this hostile back in the 90s but maybe I was young and naive.

jokes aside, if he's in a good spot in life then good on him. He's seemed mostly miserable ever since I first started following fighting games, so it's great if things have turned around.

I don't think Steam Co. are necessarily giving him a salary either, but yeah good for him if he's got a stable job. I'm honestly unfamiliar with how it's been for Sanford aside from Triforce making it sound like many members in EMP was homeless at some point and he helped get them jobs.

#Solid4Sherry is so so wrong.

People on R Kappa already going in:

#Flacid4Sherry

"Even Mad Catz is calling Sherry a solid 4??"

lol. Why would you use this hashtag. Great troll if it was one.

It's already out, the Digital version costs 7500 yen and people are losing their minds lmao. Oh well, not a big deal to me.

Oh right, I forgot that Japanese PSN already updated.

I haven't taken fighters seriously for a couple months now. So this game's perfect for me to have some random fun while waiting for Xrd (and I suppose next year when Evo reveals their lineup).

Ken winning always warms my heart.

It does feel like his normals can screw with Dudley's ducking and spacing. The best of the shoto matchups vs Dudley

Need me to fuck someone up?

Someone's family tree?

I'm dying over here.

Definitely, his crouching m.k. is really good in addition to this forward m.k. against Dudley. Smug likes to walk forward and block to apply pressure and Sanford can't do much about that with Oni or Sagat but certainly can with Ken.

Also, the bold is scaring me, you should get that condition checked out ASAP.
if you didnt notice i was being sarcastic *shrugs*

Btw I dug this answer by you(?). Don't ask me how I stumbled upon it, 'coz I don't even remember at this point, lol. I should declare browser tab bankruptcy, it is getting out of hand

Glad you liked it. There's a number of other items I wrote about on the site
(I developed and ran the site, FYI)
that I'm extrmely proud of, but that one in particular stands out because it wasn't just about SF4, but about handling life in general.

I'm happy to re-read it now and I see I'm (generally) still following what I laid out in there.

I think people spoke out angrily because Apex was quiet on the reason why Project M wasn't placed in. If more organizers and companies were more honest and open about why things happen, people would be more understanding. Instead, Apex treated it like a "if we don't see it, we don't care" just like Capcom did with SFxT's DLC gems and the fans. This sparked a naturally angry reaction. They shouldn't try to hide the reason.

That's an assumption on your part. It could very well be a condition on the part of Nintendo for sponsorship that Project M not be included, nor it be spoken of why it's not included.

Greatest of all time, amirite or amirite?

You guys are trying too hard,

Getting random threats when working on a game sucks. Especially sucks when they somehow get our internal phone numbers or emails. Development is still the best job I ever had.

not even as a side tournament? I'd be pissed.

Ninty doesn't get step in like they're hot shit, and prior to Wii U smash they couldn't give two fucks about the tourney scene.

This makes a lot of sense. The ostracized child is finally being accepted by the negligent father so they'll do anything to be seen in a good light by Nintendo. Only they're getting freaking sponsored man, esports baby.

So sad... so sad...

It's even more disturbing when you consider that the Smash scene gets absolutely nothing out of the relationship. Nintendo sponsoring doesn't seem to provide anything substantial - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty skeptical of anything past, let's say, the initial Mewtwo DLC though.

Guess there might be a chance nintendo promotes the tourney

If Nintendo doesn't give anything- if new Smash ends up not being worthy- the Smash crowd will do what they want. They're the one community that doesn't need Evo, so they don't really need Nintendo sponsoring either.

There is actually a Melee group at the school I teach at. One of the teachers lets them bring a Gamecube in during lunch to play on the projector.

thats what i like about the melee scene, they dont need the worlds most subjectively important tournament in the world to be on a grand scale.
ive been really hating on evo as of late

great teacher.

so how long does it take madcatz to ship?
