I dunno as some avatar shippers get pretty intense and super dedicated to their particular ship.

If Avatar was as bad as Naruto's shipping, we'd legitimately have Korra-Tenzin shippers, Katara-Uncle Iroh, Mako - Bolin, Korra and/or Asami - Amon/Tarrlok/Unalaq/Zaheer. Honestly, both Korra and Asami would be paired with anyone and everyone, but villains would be the most common pairing after each other. Actually, we do have some popularity for Amon and Tarrlok, but it'd be much bigger than it is if this were Naruto levels of bad. Eska-Desna would be a thing. Kuvira and Mako would be a genuine possibility in shipper's minds. Lin and Mako would be a genuine possibility.
You know what, I'll take the Zutara shippers. It could be worse. It could be a lot worse.

Looks like Naruto shippers just throw random darts at a board with characters and ships whoever it hits but in a super intense fashion also. Though I will say i've seen a few of these pairings in your statement on a few sites

Well, you dig far enough, you'll find someone who pairs even the most extreneous characters in any fanbase. But what I'm talking about is shipped en-mass. Kakashi-Sakura (25 year old teacher and 12 year old (or 15 if your lucky) student) for example are pretty popular when they should really be a minority. The worst case of that I've seen is some pairing with Korra and adult men like Noatak and Tarrlok, but they're tiny compared to the Asami/Mako/Bolin - Korra shippers.
As they should be.
So David Faustino is sorta hinting that we will see Mako cry this season.

If Mako is going to cry this season we can assume that people will think somebody is dead. I am really hoping that the news that Bolin and Varric died comes to Republic City before they show up. It'd be nice to see Mako crying over his brother, the only family and friend he had for like lord knows how many years.

That would be a nice direction to take with it. Would be some nice development time for Mako as he grieves over the "loss" of his brother as you said. Much better than my initial thought process as I was all being cynical and thinking it would just be Mako crying at seeing Korra again in the next episode.
Sigh one day he'll get the soundtracks he deserves. But in the meantime i'm pretty excited to hear what he has lined up for the finale as the Book 3 finale really hit it right out of the park.

Made the fight between Korra and Zaheer so much better. Not that it was bad to begin with.
Hope Book 4 gives a fight of this level at some point.
That was one of the best fights in ATLA/Korra going, so I'm a bit pessimistic that Book 4 can top it, even if they still have some amazing set pieces.
I'm watching the Korra/Zaheer and Aang/Ozai fights back to back and I'm starting to realize why the differences in scale are the way they are. Aside from animation quality, it looks like it has a lot to do with what bending is being used. The problem might just be that in terms of large scale visuals, any earthbending short of throwing a mountain looks unimpressive compared to throwing tidal waves of fire at each other.

Yeah. I just hope it feels like a series ending. I know technically it's an ending to this self contained season arc (ugh), but I really want it to feel like a series ending.
My favorite fight in TLoK, and 2nd favorite if we count TLA (Where my number 1 is, of course, the one on the season finale of Book 2: Earth)
Seriously... The music, the animation, Korra going HAM , Bolin putting work... SO GOOD!
To me, the firebending was a lot more impressive, though.
Yeah it's going to be pretty hard to top that fight.Heck Book 3 was packed full of excellent fights. I still have hope Bryke can bring something of that caliber again in the last 7 episodes.
They really should have kept the Harmonic Convergence plot as something for the last Book as it would made sense to have that as the end game. Have Korra cementing her legend after preventing 10,000 years of darkness.
Maybe also get rid of the giant Kaiju fights at the same time. Sorry Toa.

I'm still expecting this Kuvira plot to take off in a different direction. Lol I mean...surely this isn't it. IS IT. But I know it will be. I don't know how they will make that feel like a series ender. My guess Kuvira + creating a spirit vine nuke + invading Republic City will be the final episode. (Inb4 she fuses herself with the spirit vines and becomes a mutant w/ powers lmao)

The Kaiju fight would've been redeemed if there was an honest-to-goodness suplex in there.
Book 2's being looked after by top men.
Needed a suplex, drop kick and choke hold. What we got instead, was Korra squatting and walking like a robot and shooting beams out her chest. NOPE.
