Disney can wait. Video games are cereal business.

Wow....lol

Please dont even compare. Except for some minor single player bugs and matchmaking. Everything in MCC works, and it already has so much content to play beside MM. You can even play custom matches if you want. And the fact that 343 is updating the community and deploying server side fixes twice a day makes MCC leagues ahead of Driveclub problem.

Do you know of Driveclub's problem? or just going by word of mouth...?

One of the strategies to doing Disney World/Land is to actually take a break from 2-6, so you rest up, avoid the afternoon heat + crowd and then go back out for shorter line rides.

How busy and hot would it realistically be this time of year?

I wonder how many total consoles were sold. The SO bundle was very limited.

That's a god point. I hope it's done well for Insomniac either way. Easily one of the best games of the year, would be a damn shame if it ends up bombing.

How accurate are these numbers (got them from a gaffer in another thread)?

From MS PR (3m sold to consumer):
Nov-Dec 2013: USA 1.8m
Nov-Dec 2013: Rest 1.2m
Total: 3.0m

From NPD and other sources:
Jan-Sep 2014: USA 1.6m
Jan-Sep 2014: Rest ?.?m
Total: ?

Jan-Aug 2014: Germany 170k
Jan-Aug 2014: Spain 52k

Are we looking at ~500-700k sold in Europe in 2014? So 5.4 million total? 4-5 million overstock?

Current known numbers with solid sources, sold through (million units):

USA (as of September 2014): 3.500
Japan (as of this week): 0.035
France (as of December 2013): 0.126
Germany (as of June 2014): 0.170
UK (as of December 2013): 0.364

There's also a few other numbers (not very up to date) for minor markets like Italy, Australia, Spain, Portugal.

If you consider the original sales ratio between the US and the rest of the world (1.8/1.2 i.e 1.5) this would put the XB1 at 5.8M sold through at the end of september. But we know that sales collapsed in major EU markets after launch.
I think it's probably around 6-6.5M sold through at this stage. The PS4:XB1 ratio WW is likely over 2:1.

Wouldn't be surprising if Sony trounce MS today. MS literally cut their own balls off by announcing that $50 off bundle when they did.

Who in their right mind would buy an X1 in October when they can just wait a couple of weeks and get it $50 off with a free game?

well technically the price cut was announced towards the end of the month(oct 27) and some places honored the deal a few days earlier as well so that is not exactly a valid excuse for being trounced :)

How many places honoured the deal a few days earlier? How many days earlier are we talking? Stores were honouring the new price on Oct 27?

It's virtually impossible for MS to have won October. So let's not even bother discussing the possibility. October will be the most boring month since May. The only things worth paying attention to are game sales DC vs FH2 and SO vs Bayonetta 2. The rest is pretty much set in stone (assuming we get any numbers at all).

Lol, I dont believe that at all. I bet Sony dominated October big time. However, I was just trying to keep all the options open for parity, to avoid debates and stuff.

DC will have sold more than Horizon 2, I think we can say that with some certainty.

Bayo 2 will have bombed spectacularly. Sunset will have just edged its way into the top ten.

To be fair, they announced the Price Cut 6 days before it went into effect. So it really only hurt the last week of October's sales.

I was at Disneyland/ Disney California Adventure last Thursday. That was 95 freaking degrees.

Orlando is typically 68-80+ during this time the year, but the humidity + crowd is usually the thing that makes it insufferable.

It's really not worth the wait sometimes when some lines can go up to an hour long.

Back on topic: this afternoon will be highly entertaining. I promise you.

Maybe Bish got a Private Message from a special person, who will offer him sales numbers to allow him to share the information. That way, nobody would have the nerve to be so rude to Bish as they were to our previous sources, and the real sources will remain "anonymous."

One can dream right>>>>??

Fair call. I overestimated when MS announced the price cut.

I don't think we will see Sunset at all... But I personally want to see it because Insomniac is awesome.

I remain hopeful. Insomniac deserve a win for Sunset. Truly amazing game and easily the best in quite some time.

Jesus, that sounds terrible. Here I was thinking November would be the perfect time to head to Disney World. No crowds with schools in and somewhat cooler weather...

Bit more news: I work for the largest video game retailer in the UK and we had word from our head office sales team that the Xbone is now outselling the PS4 3:1. I can believe it too, on the ground I see way more Xboxes than PS4s leaving out shop.

3:1?? in the UK??

I don't believe it.

Oh em gee. Anecdotal evidence.

Wow. This is thread worthy news. Like, seriously it is. I wonder what prompted the tide turning?

Yeah nice one, if Xbox one had won a week it would be plastered everywhere just like the Fifa week where it won by a small margin. It won't win another week this year in my opinion here in the UK.

I can play MP races in DC and I've done so for weeks, long after people have been shouting that the game is still broken. The only thing which doesn't work yet is club challenges. So why not compare? I don't care if some company updates their Twitter twice a day. I expect results, not words.

November usually is the least crowded, but that still doesn't mean the park is empty in any sense of the word. At times it can feel more packed, since park hours are reduced + Disney would shut off some rides/attractions. That means the crowds are more likely to flock to key attractions as oppose to being spread out.

Disney would also have special promotions or deal days, such as November 6th at Disneyland Resort for Epilepsy Awareness day. On those days, there would be more guests with VIP passes/additional fast passes for big groups or priority entrance for people with disabilities. Which skews the displayed wait time.

Im sorry, I just cannot believe this at all!
