^All I want is for Bolin to acknowledge that Ghazan wasn't such a bad guy.
Well I'm pretty sure he watched him fight enough times to figure it out. Bolin is dumb, but he most likely is pretty observant and probably practiced a lot over the years. I'm glad he picked it up, he's a wrecking crew.Bolin was the one that got all friendly with Ghazan and had some banter/respect for him during their final fight. He never considered Ghazan unlikable. And I mean look, he even based his lava bending off the only other guy who did it

Su can eat it.Su is a pretty grating character too. The metal bending city people are just annoying in general. I blame toph. Toph can always be blamed for everything.
I'm going to guess "KAIJU KORRA IS GREAT!" lol.
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHSu is a pretty grating character too. The metal bending city people are just annoying in general. I blame toph. Toph can always be blamed for everything.
He respects and was inspired by the lava bending. Ghazan is a real homie though, unlike kuruk.Yea, I noticed that Bolin had this weird admiration for Ghazan last season. Or at least it was mutual feelings between them.
He definitely is taking a few moves from him tho
I loved Korra's reactions to Wu. Everyone else was semi-respectful when they rejected him, but Korra just straight up put him on blast.
Korra's initial reaction to himwas "who the fuck is this guy?"

Korra never did have any tact. Kuvira just looked at him. we all know she would've bent a giant hole in the middle of the ground and dropped him into it but she never said anything.Yes. She's the Avatar and he has to deal with it.

lol. I kind of liked that they alluded to Wu having more to him in the last episode with him in it. I figured they were going to have a redemption plot. That once he got his ass knocked down and some sense slapped into him, he would stop being selfish and grow up.
But nope. This episode had him go full out with his crazy behavior.
Yeah, after Bolin wrecks face with the Krew, and they're like, "Damn Bolin, when'd you get good?" He's gotta give a shout out to Ghazan for awakening his inner badass.
Bolin is finally more useful than Mako in fights. Mako doesn't ever use lightning bending. And it's fairly common nowadays among skilled firebenders. But since nobody is going for the kill.
could you imagine going to work at your stressful CEO gig and then coming home to Grandma Yin, Bo and Mako's entire displaced family, and now Wu, who will probably try to sleep with you in your bed?
I don't really mind her fighting. But lol her taking out entire armies. Her being the one to take out Kuvira (she won't). But anything where Toph has a major role in the main plot, I kind of have to roll my eyes at it. As I said earlier, I think she had her in time in ATLA. It's time for the Korra characters to step up and take their time in the spotlight. I just kind of find the idea of more Toph stuff to be a bit cringe/forced, because it would comes off as fan pleasing moments just to please.
I like Toph as much as the next person, but lol Just my thoughts on it. I guess I'm just weary of fan service in general. And I've overall liked how they used Toph so far. Hopefully they don't get carried away. And yeah, I kind of wish we would learn the fathers of Lin and Su. They have put too much attention on it, not to give us a hint..or tell us. Even if it's done as a joke (toph using it as a punchline or throwaway line). Just anything.

I seriously doubt Toph isn't better than King Bumi and he could wreck people with just a chin wag.

She's been "Mien Kampf"-ing for awhile now.I liked some parts of the latest episode but WHY THE FUCK is Kuvira Hitler now? Where did that come from ? I mean I get that she kind of has been twirling a taped on mustache for a bit now but I never understood that either. A villain doesn't have to eat babies to be a good villain (though there certainly are baby-eaters who are good villains). It feels like they were trying to write a villain with some complexity but then chickened out halfway through the season. It's a real bummer :/
Toph wasn't all spiritually awakened then. This already happened with Toph v. Amon's dad, I'd say Toph still loses.
Actually if you develop your villain characters instead of just making them "muhahaha" evil then it's not that hard to fill in some extra episodes. There's loads they could do with Kuvira, but they aren't doing it. The same could be said with last seasons villains.

I mean, she can see across the fucking world now. Chances are she stomps her foot on the swamp, locates amon, and throws rocks at him from there
That's the hill you decided to die on.
She does go on quite a bit about Su not stepping up. There is something grating about Kuvira's monotone voice when she goes off on her rants about people not doing things or something. lol
That's true as well. We really don't need more of Korra's crew. I would prefer a lot less on them and more on different characters but they have too many characters too. In all honesty they really should've figured out what they want to do with Kuvira from the beginning. We gets shades of an actual personality but i want more than shades. That's independent on length in this context which is point. You could do that just fine in the 13 episodes we have (it's not as if Korra's group really needs all that much focus as we enter the 4th season), they chose not to go that path which is why more episodes really wouldn't help if we work under the assumption they would be of the same quality as what we currently have..
That's the one I wanted =OThank you friend! I steal!
Edit Edit: comon korrasami, you can do it!

Did I just change my avatar for the first time for any of my internet accounts ever? Yes I did. Thanks Azula! I just have to be able to stare at this at will.
Will probably change it back in a week or so. Or a month. Or when the show ends. Who knows?
That's the one I wanted =O
Made a bunch of new avatars from this episode. If no one uses them, that's totally fine. I'm just making them for fun and saving them in a folder. That said, here they are:

Amon if he attacks first as bloodbending has already proven to be quite effective against Toph before.Toph vs Amon. Who wins?
Heh Toa only started watching LOK halfway through Book 3. Plus the Book 2 finale isn't completely awful. It gave us some of the best music in the series to date.So what was Toa Tak's shtick before the godawful S2 finale and Kuvira?
Speaking of Ghazan, where is the Red Lotus this season? I thought since Zaheer survived they'd build off that story more.
It's a hiring ad I think, wasn't paying attention. How do you know that's a lesbian science magazine? What do the chinese characters on it say?
AV ClubOf all the Book Four episodes released thus far, The Reunion feels the most like a traditional episode of The Legend Of Korra, and thats what this show really needs at this point. It reestablishes the personal relationships at the heart of the series, and also gives the cast the opportunity to show off their fighting skills, although Id still like for there to be more excitement in this seasons action sequences. But after spending considerable time on Korras PTSD and Kuviras expansion of the Earth Empire, its comforting to slip into a story that, as Asami says, feels like old times.
IGNSo far, Book Four has been a pretty entertaining ride filled with great character moments and exciting set pieces. In fact, "Korra Alone" might even be my favorite Korra episode to date. That said, we're now over halfway through the final season and it still hasn't quite hit its stride in terms of painting a larger picture. We sort of knew that Book Four would be more of a postscript to Book Three and less of its own adventure (à la Books One and Two). But as standalone episodes go, this week's "Reunion" was about as filler-y as they come for the show. That's not to say filler is necessarily a bad thing, but considering we only have six episodes left in the series, this week's installment felt like it could have done more than it did.
ScreencrushAfter a heated encounter that sent Team Avatar racing along the streets of Republic City and warding off Earthbender gestapo atop a speeding train, Asami says whats on all of our minds: It was kind of like old times.
Man, it really was.
