I'm debating this till the very last second. I have the money for a PS4, but it seems so not worth it to buy just for Xrd and TLoU. Plus I have to buy the stick and PS+. Only thing is that I know I'll need one at some point, so do I go in, and let 1080p Xrd sizzle my retinas now?

For the record I have spent a ton of my time helping others. It's just people have disagreements over teaching, learning and disrespect over usage of new characters. I feel that using a new character is just another way to learn, others disagree.

And it's not just for FGs, I help out people in every genre I play in. So I hope people aren't misconstruing my opinions with me not actively trying to help others and trying to put the burden on the person who wants to learn.
 
Getting PS3 version for sure.

Can always double dip for prettier version when i finally get a PS4.. if i really really like the game and i still want to play it then.

Everyone's different, and I think if you want someone to play in a certain way during a set—whether it's sticking to their main or stop fooling around—just ask them, instead of silently brooding about it.

Now I'm not trying to harp on you, I have no stake in your argument with Anne, but I think this goes both ways. I mean if you see the other person is clearly trying their hardest to play, you should respect that and at least give them a good game. Anyone is going to get mad when they're trying their hardest and their opponent is just trying to make themselves laugh.

I don't think anyone necessarily has the obligation to teach another in an FT10, but if that's how the opponent wants to approach it, then requesting it from the other player would get them what they want.

I don't either. Like if you don't give a shit about the other guy and only care about your own personal enjoyment and entertainment you are 100% free to troll the other player. There's no law to dictate how you conduct yourself in matches

but I mean if that results in people not wanting to play games with you, then they're also free to do that.

The thing is, I don't think anyone here has that attitude. I personally, don't think you have that attitude given your responses to Anne. I just think that your actions and your attitude have to match up. You can't have it both ways. You kinda have to think about how you conduct yourself in game as much as you do talking to people in person and on the internet. If you really want the scene to grow and new players to come in, that can't stop once the match begins
 
I'm buying Xrd on JP PS3 initially and will be picking up the PS4 LE in US once it drops

Oh yeah, I learned that from that FT10 and the other experiences that were mentioned back there, so it's something I've become aware of when I play. I'm actually really new to fighting games myself (and by extension, the scene) with P4A being the first one I took seriously, so it's not something I kept in mind and I also had never done a public FT10 before or anything like that, so I just approached it like I was playing casuals with another player, with the audience being a bonus. I'd never really been told how to act (or play) in those circumstances, and I was honestly getting bored, so I attempted to spice it up a bit.

All part of the learning process, I suppose.
 
Any word if xrd will support old arcade sticks on the PS4 similar to what Skullgirls is doing? I'm guessing since MadCatz is making GG arcade sticks, it might be unlikely.

I haven't played GG before so I'm kinda interested in getting it for PS4.
 
Oh, and I've definitely left rooms with bad players because they were switching characters every match. If I'm bodying you, at least allow me learn how to punish your bad habits most efficiently.

This actually isn't an issue for me since I've been wanting a new stick, and I'm pretty pleased that most PS4 ones work on both as I still plan on playing games on PS3

So even if it does end up supporting PS3 sticks at launch on PS4 I'll probably still buy one

Using Deejay for 15+ matches will take a toll on your body mind and soul.

Can't do it, won't do it.
 
Yea I'll kick randoms if they switch more than once within 10 games. My time to play is limited nowadays, and it's hard to learn much of anything when people just want to cycle through their 5000 alts.
 
Posted in the USF IV thread but I played Air's Poison in casuals last night. 5-2 (or maybe 5-1 with close matches, can't remember) or so in his favor. Really strong and definitely really beefy against folks that like pressing buttons. It's gonna be a rough match-up for folks that don't have the air mobility or a way to go through Poison's fireballs though. He hates the grappler match ups for that reason, lol.
 
Indeed. Some players are coming from a position where they're trying to adjust to a higher level of play against one character, so switching on them can be pretty jarring.

Learned that when (attempting) to teach a friend SF4. It was better for me to keep playing Ryu against him. Switching suddenly to Zangief, then to Cody, then to Guile will cause their learning process to become haphazard.

Not as much the first time as much as the second time when we were playing with Sloth >:/

I'm more annoyed that you didn't accept my challenge for a rematch after I looked in the character a bit more. >:/

Yeah, I got my HRAP V3 SA for $100. I would like to find a deal within $25 of that for the PS4.

I am getting Xrd on the PS4 because the full transition to the PS4 for fighting games will happen eventually. I would rather embrace it sooner rather than later. Plus, playing on the PS3 has always been a chore. The general system interface is so sluggish.

I'm already paying for PS+ too because of Destiny, so there no point in me not getting it for PS4. Only thing is getting the HRAP4 or waiting it out and hoping Akishop releases a firmware update that allows its PCB's to work on PS4 as well....or arcsys following Skullgirls example and allowing PS3 sticks to work.
 
Guilty Gear Xrd on PS3, not so much because of stick support but mostly because I can't justify the PS4 purchase right now. Want to see if I am even going to be playing the game in a few months as well.

Nobody is upset about switching characters, people are upset when you switch to a character you can't even finish a combo with after trolling around with IKs in an exhibition.

Was there something on the line or was it done out of good will? Perhaps the exhibition should have came to an early stop from the sound of things. But for the most part it sounds like a pride thing.

If it was a challenge then yeah I see no issue with him dicking around. If it was something set up out of good will then yeah it's dickish.
