Someone is streaming GTA V on PS4

Yup I was able to start the preload too.

Btw it says that the "Name for Voice Operation" is "Grand theft auto V".. I wonder if you have to say V or 5? lol

Have Rockstar or any of the streamers said anything about the police AI? Do they still magically know if you commit a crime in the middle of the desert with no one around? Or has it been tweaked for more realism?

I hope they don't change it. Otherwise it will be less fun on top of mount Chilead.

Yup.

Here's a question I have.

Will the PS4 version have a map included? Otherwise I wonder if Target will let me keep the map (or if they'd notice if it wasn't there ;) ).

I would assume they would just worry about the box (if you need it for trade-ins at Target) and the game.

Any streams currently up that someone could quote? Been enjoying seeing how differently I play GTA compared to others.

Just took Tuesday off work. Hypeee.

Why do your shoes have eyes o.O

I hate you, and those are the worst shoes I have ever seen. So there.

Wow, can't believe how many started bitching about my cowboy boots! =D Those "eyes" are skull decorations in the strap.

Also, would you give your impressions once you get to play it? Traffic density, etc..

Does it have the map?

I didn't have a great deal of time to play today, but I got to the point where I'm playing as Michael after
crashing into Simeon's place.
On to the impressions then.

-Yes, there's a physical map
-There's a manual and a leaflet for the in-game bonus money
-Traffic density is considerably higher compared to last gen's Xbox 360 version

-Draw distance isn't THAT hot, I excepted more. You can clearly see cars and pedestrians "dematerializing" in the distance

-Foliage is great this time around and some textures look very good
-Visuals are nice and sharp overall
-Characters faces and animations look superb
-There's something bothering me with the frame rate though. It seems very smooth near you (the character) but objects in the background start flickering very often. It's more obvious when you drive a car in FPS mode. It's very distracting...like some parts are moving on normal speed and some on slow-mo at the same time. I can't
describe it any better 'cos I'm not that familiar with all these technical terms.
-Otherwise the performance seems to be solid. Most importantly, a huge step forward compared to last gen
-FPS mode is cool for just fucking around and causing mayhem. Driving high speed with a motorcycle is insane! I tried a couple of missions involving shooting and driving and failed miserably. It's much harder IMO

Can't think of anything else at the moment. Just ask away!

Damn...that sounds no bueno. I'm pretty sensitive to stuff like this, hopefully they can push out a patch later to smooth this up a bit.

I know that one screenshot of the grass is taken on the edge of the hill, but seems like the foliage distance isn't the greatest. Can you comment on what it's like at a more smooth elevation?

Despite that sounds like a great experience. I think I'm more hyped than I was for previous gen release, didn't think that was possible for something I poured 40+ hours into easy.

WHAT?

Looks like an upscaled Ps3/Xbox 360 game...I'm pretty disappointed now. Blurry textures, no gras in distance (so...lots of pop-ins I guess), bad draw distance...what is this shit? Rockstar lying like Ubisoft?
The trailer looked 10000 times better than those screens.

based on what did you conclude that? you have both version to compare side by side?

Well no, but I can't remember having +25 cars in the vicinity of an intersection on Xbox 360.

And you're bound to notice the higher density when you start driving yourself because you'll be avoiding another passengers a lot more. Last gen you could just breeze through the oncoming lane without worries...not this time around.

lets be clear. When you say XO you mean Xbox One right? because your post seems confusing. You comparing it with last gen to this gen or you have Xbox One and PS4 copy of the game, and you think traffic density is lesser on Xbox One version compare to PS4.

I'm not bitching, but I DO find shoes looking at me noticeable :P

Is having skull studs in cowboy boots more of a Metal thing, biker related or a sign of Cartel affiliation? The latter two would also explain why you got the game early.

was going to wait out for the PC version but ill double dip with the ps4 one as well since all my friends are getting that one. It should take a little while for the good mods to come out for PC anyway

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone. Was Xbox One. Mainly just saw the
motorcycle chace afterwards
and I didn't pick up any framerate issues. May have been some things in the cut scene afterwards but it may have been that strange graphical pop-in that seems to happen with every Rockstar Game where moving objects (in this case a garage door) will be weird one time and not the next.

How's the pedestrian density? A lot of people have been wondering about that, including me. I've seen evidence myself over the streams that the traffic's been noticeably increased and has more variety, but I've yet to confirm that this applies to NPCs as well.

Examples of good pedestrian density from my own gfy's:
Community Service
The Wild Hunt

It doesn't seem to impact performance when they're all in one spot like that, but I guess there must be some hardware limitations as a reason as to why they don't concentrate NPCs in areas like this more often.

And you're bound to notice the higher density when you start driving yourself because you'll be avoiding another passengers a lot more. Last gen you could just breeze through the oncoming lane without worries...not this time around.

I suspect that this will be most people's reactions once they get over the fluff of having cars everywhere and you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry. ..Man, don't think I've ever laughed as much watching a stream as when that guy went bonkers.

So have you got both versions? You are confusing me

Yeah the foliage ain't that great in the distance but it did seem better in some grassy park area downtown.

WHAT?

Actually there are no issues with pop-in. But I gotta put that to serious test by driving breakneck speeds on the countryside highways. Well it's still a last gen game...and those screenshots are compressed like hell thanks to PS4.

Sorry for the confusion! XO is Xbox 360 for me and X1 = Xbox One so I'm referring to last gen!

Hah. I've been thinking that with a lot of the density comments. Post-game when you just like exploring this density will be awesome. Doing a quest when you randomly bump a cop and suddenly have 3-stars in a tight corner with nowhere to escape may end up very frustrating.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarification!

Assuming by this post you're talking about the Xbox 360 when you say "XO" which most people assume means "Xbox One."

You should change this up.

Just state it as 360 when talking about the Xbox 360.

My game dispatched on Saturday from Amazon UK. Would it arrive tomorrow or would they hold it till tuesday?

Probably will be held until Tuesday or just coincidentally it takes 2 full business days to deliver. My GTAV (360) shipped on Friday, didn't arrive until Tuesday although normally items I buy that ship on a Friday are in Monday.

Sounds like tearing or related to v-sync stutter? That was the worst problem with the PS3 addition more than just the frame rate IMO... when driving fast and panning the camera, often the car animations (turning, crashing, etc) still looked fine but it was so hard to see all the stutering world objects.

I'm not sure how the PS4 and XBO handle refresh rates, tearing, v-sync, etc in the new gen GTA V though... any tech experts fathom a guess based on streams?

Why did I have to turn my PS4 for tgis to start downloading?

Every preload I've done is the same, it does not start downloading unles I turn on the console or force it through the store.

Fix this shit Sony! Ugh...

That's a very good question! There was an alley near Vespucci Beach that was loaded with people but other than that there's been no significant increase.

Haha yes, my first 3 star police chase ended rather awkwardly by getting stuck in the traffic. I tried escaping on foot but got driven over by a truck after the police opened fire.

You should change this up.

Just state it as 360 when talking about the Xbox 360.

Yeah, sorry. I've edited it now.
