Someone is streaming GTA V on PS4

I get why people want to have higher traffic density and I agree for the most part but at some point, they have to limit it for gameplay reasons too. Having a shit ton of cars would probably look amazing but would also be really annoying when you're trying to drive around to do a mission.

-Traffic density is considerably higher compared to XO version

Have you seen / played the Xbox One version ?

Would be great if this gets confirmed.

It would also make sense. Both are native 1080p / 30, yet PS4 having the more powerful (40% higher Flops + almost twice the pixel fillrate + considerably higher texel rate, more main memory bandwidth, etc) would theoretically allow more car models on-screen.

On the other hand, it might not make sense, if higher density traffic is a CPU-bound thing.

Edit:

Sorry for the confusion! XO is Xbox 360 for me and X1 = Xbox One so I'm referring to last gen!

Ah I see, nevermind my post above then.

Why would that be great?

Anyone with early impressions confirmed the 'seeing multiples of the same car as you progress later in the game' memory issue of all the previous GTAs?

Why did I have to turn my PS4 for tgis to start downloading?

Every preload I've done is the same, it does not start downloading unles I turn on the console or force it through the store.

Fix this shit Sony! Ugh...

You have to turn on downloads in standby mode by yourself. It's not activated in standardsettings.

i can confirm i saw two distinctive white truck type things (with different loads) then saw more than one in the opposing flow of traffic, over the next 3 minutes.

With the variety of cars in the city it would be unrealistic to expect no visible caching, I imagine a meeting at rockstar where they allocated out bandwidth budgets to all the things that needed continual reading.

Rockstar shutting down streamers faster then light

But shit looks amazing. So smooth and that stable framerate <3 Double dip redeemed

24h to go. I forget how awesome GTAO was with friends. Can't wait to play it again

GTA is really a worldwide phenomenon. It's just crazy how much this game will sell again

They are too preoccupied wondering whether or not if it can rather than if it is actually practical. Of course it's possible, we've seen it in the trailer and some gameplay, but it would get annoying if their was constantly traffic. Like fuck who cares

Cool. No, I hadn't seen that footage before.

Looks great to me.

Fair to say that the rumors of GTAV's traffic density being low were greatly exaggerated.

This is reassuring, I was starting to get worried. Colour me happy.

Indeed.

I too feel more confident that perhaps we might see that much traffic at peak during rush hours on the freeway. At least under certain conditions such as, not waiting for traffic to spawn but driving with or against traffic into or out of the city.

PS3 does show quite a lot there too but it's definitely higher.

It's usually 20+ cars on PS3 too and I just tested it 3 times on different days at different times (about 12, 3, and 6pm) and basically doing what that video did, you usually see 25-35 cars on PS3. On that PS4 video I lost count around 40 cars and likely missed at least 5-10 to the sides.

My general feeling is density is about 2x the PS3 but that means, places where you saw 2-3 cars before (e.g. certain streets downtown LS at 8am, much of south and east LS) maybe PS4 still just sjows 4-6 cars. But places where the PS3 could show over 20 cars (downtown LS 4-way intersections at noon, rush hour on the freeways, Vinewood boulevard at night) the PS4 seems to show 30-50 cars.

At least that's my general feeling or impression based on a few hours of streams. And car variety in traffic must be at least 4-5x better. It's significantly better.

I just watched 3 different streams (all of them running fine for more than 15 minutes) and they all got taken down after less than one minute. I guess my girlfriend is a rockstar agent.

I think this might be reset to default values on major updates, because I'm absolutely certain I downloaded stuff in standby mode before, yet I just had the download stop as soon as I put the console to sleep, went to check settings and wasn't enabled.

What happens though if my console loses connection to WiFi (it often does) while in standby ? I assume it won't attempt to reconnect, right ? Bullshit ! I'm sure connection will be lost the instant I stop looking and I'll wake up to a " downloaded 120kb/48GB" message tomorrow :-/

Couple things:

Traffic density in that video looks perfect

R* needs to hire better car modelers: we've reached a rather satisfying level of geometric detail on cars for the series, but most are just so ugly and disproportioned.

And this just occurred to me.. the absolute best stealth new feature of this ps4 remake: remote fucking play !

Editthingss like cars aren't reflected on wet tarmac? Bummer, I think they were on ps360 although maybe only when they got much closer to the camera. Or im just imagining things.
Kinda ruins the effect either way.

That's PC version you're seeing. It's alright though PS4 and X1 look to have enough traffic to the point where it wouldn't get annoying.
