Ah fuck, decided to preload this on my old brick 36GB PS3. Turns out in magic PS3 land you need twice the size of the game to download it off PSN. After deleting everything I'm left with 30GB of free spaces, which is not enough to download a 16.6GB game off PSN.

Thanks PSN, for warning me about this!

Do we have much indication of what the PC version is going to be like yet? I'm going to buy the PC or the PS4 version tonight, but I'm not sure which - I'm just having nightmare flashbacks to the DA2 PC version with its awful performance issues.

Yeah, on the PS3 you need twice the space because it can't install at the same time as downloading.

The hype is motivating me to re-install Dragon Age origins to refresh my memory on the universe. :] The semi open world will be much more interesting from an exploration standpoint compared to the small area of origins which were full of invisible walls. This is probably as big of a gap as the difference between The original Witcher and what the Witcher 3 will be in terms of world building and potential exploration.

Exploring all the areas for the first time is definitely something. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. :D

I liked the mage animations, but that was about it.

Once I figured out that all I needed was three people with area of affect attacks to spread out over the two (sometimes three) waves of enemies and a tank, the game got old really fast.

Yeah, way too many waves. I didn't even give myself the opportunity to learn all the combat abilities either, thinking I'd manage just fine on CASUAL difficulty. The last few boss fights were ridiculous, almost didn't make it.

I have two questions and I'm too lazy to google this so please answer me DA:I gaf.

1. Is this game a turn base role rpg ? (I loved dragons's dogma, will I like this game?)
2. If I never played a single dragon age game will the story make sense to me?

Thank you.

Ooh, password prompt!

I'm guessing this will track stats and stuff. The scale of the game seems appropriate for something like that.

Ah they blocked all access to it. It was up few days ago for short while and I just left it open to tab. It is kinda small mini-game revolving around few characters and unlocks in-game items.

Edit:
Other one could maaaaaaybe be that Quest for the Red Lyrium Reapers thingy. (Don't bother with the links they have yet; it's not out at the moment)

My link is that Lyrium thingy :b

no- real time action with a tactical version. if you prefer real time then play on easy.
yes- standalone but you'll miss context on the universe and the world.

No, it's real time, but in the tactical camera mode you can pause time and slowly move it forward after giving orders to all your characters. If you liked Dragon's Dogma this should be up your alley in any case.

I think the story can be perfectly enjoyed without playing the other games, although it's definitely not the same thing and you will miss things that only fans will get, but that's normal I guess.

1. no
2. you can get pretty much up to date with the story narration in Dragon Age Keep, as well as create your own story to import.

Both of your questions are answered on the FAQ on the first page.

Meh, doesn't sound all too interesting then. Loved to be proved wrong though!

I'm really disappointed that Bioware backpeddled on the ability to re edit your character.
In Dragon Age 2 you had a mirror which can change Hawke's appearance.

Here you can't edit your character to change their haircut, add scars, etc to the facial features. It's pretty disappointing. So when you create a character you should be damn sure that you will be happy using that character for the 100+ hours of gameplay you will be playing this on.

Hopefully it will come in the form of DLC. Hopefully free...

Games should have the ability to re edit your customized character no matter the circumstances to circumvent any player regret and for simple convenience.
The ability to export or recreate your character also would be a plus which made http://www.masseffect2faces.com/ popular to create and share.

So far:
Saints Row 3, Saints Row 4, Dragon's Dogma, Skyrim (Dawnguard DLC), Fallout 3, and Dragon Age 2, to name a few allowed you to re edit your character's appearance.

Kinda wished Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dragon Age Origins, Destiny and this game followed suit with editing a character's appearance.

Too many instances where I rushed, or eventually wasn't happy with my creation. There was always that one tweak that needed adjustment.

Sigh.

Even GTA V is getting plastic surgery to edit your online character's appearance.

Hm, maybe I'll get it on PC then. I'm sure there will be a way to rectify that. Debating between PC and PS4 version

Pre-loaded and ready for tomorrow. Think I may take off work Tuesday actually.

I'm going in practically blind I have seen very little of this but all the positive impressions had gotten me on board. Chose this over GTAV. Hoping maybe it comes via Gamefly but highly unlikely.

Going to be fantastic. This along could probably keep me busy till Bloodborne lol

i3 3140 with an overclocked GTX 750 Ti (with a VIP GMG discount making the game cheaper) or the PS4 version? Which will be better? Will there be an appreciable difference do you think?

Also, are there any advantages to playing it with M+KB like there was with Origins?

Waitaminute, whatever happened to that person who's Origin installation said it would unlock the game at 9?

Edit: I mean 9 today, not tomorrow

PC. I find k/m is always better with RPG's like this.

I've been playing a review copy for ~12-15 hours (unless I'm missing something play time doesn't actually appear anywhere?), and I can honestly say that this is my CLEAR pick for Game of the Year so far. I wasn't wild about DA:O and I skipped DA2, but Inquisition is on an entirely different level.

It's massive, polished, extremely well written in all aspects (dialogue, incidental writing, characterization), challenging... even the puzzles are good. This is the best RPG I've played in many, many years.

There's also an absolutely epic... event (it isn't really accurate to call it a twist) that happens around 12 hours in that dropped my jaw and cemented my opinion that this game is something special. And I'm honestly kind of stunned that everything I experienced prior to that moment could really only be characterized as the "early game." (You'll know the moment when it happens).

I'm only ~10% through, but if Inquisition stays on this pace, it has the potential to go down as one of the all-time RPG greats.
Hnnnng.

You're not helping! :D

Buy a cheap hard drive.

Waitaminute, whatever happened to that person who's Origin installation said it would unlock the game at 9?

That was me - nothing happened. When 9pm rolled around, the play button remained greyed out. I couldn't do anything, and when I double clicked the DA:I icon, a message said it wasn't available until November 17th.

But, Origins actually still says November 16th at 9:00PM, just like the screenshot! Its mocking me.

So, Ive been making sure the Korean VPN is ready to rumble tomorrow morning

Just checked my Origin using a Korean VPN and it says it unlocks the 17th at 15:00 which I work out, via worldtimebuddy, is in 4 hours. Not sure if that's right.

The time you see is your local time (based on your computer clock) that it will unlock, I am pretty sure. Via a Korean VPN, it tells me it will unlock at 9 AM which is in 11 hours from my time. If you're in the UK, 15:00 is 11 hours from where you are, I believe.

Anyone know what the flames of the inquisition weapons included with the deluxe stuff are like? Are they quickly replaced by more powerful stuff? Do you get them at the beginning?
