Anyone going to start out on Insanity?

I did my EA Access trial on Hard, wasn't having too much of an issue, but I feel like I may do some experimenting on Hard first to figure out what works before moving to an Insanity run.

So hype for this, got my GTX 980 last week just for this. I'm leaning on Knight Enchanter myself, but I always love to play a badass plate armored warrior lol. That would be amazing if we could have mage heavy armor, best of both worlds.

I'm really disappointed that Bioware backpeddled on the ability to re edit your character.
In Dragon Age 2 you had a mirror which can change Hawke's appearance.

Here you can't edit your character to change their haircut, add scars, etc to the facial features. It's pretty disappointing. So when you create a character you should be damn sure that you will be happy using that character for the 100+ hours of gameplay you will be playing this on.

Hopefully it will come in the form of DLC. Hopefully free...

Games should have the ability to re edit your customized character no matter the circumstances to circumvent any player regret and for simple convenience.
The ability to export or recreate your character also would be a plus which made http://www.masseffect2faces.com/ popular to create and share.

So far:
Saints Row 3, Saints Row 4, Dragon's Dogma, Skyrim (Dawnguard DLC), Fallout 3, and Dragon Age 2, to name a few allowed you to re edit your character's appearance.

Kinda wished Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dragon Age Origins, Destiny and this game followed suit with editing a character's appearance.

Too many instances where I rushed, or eventually wasn't happy with my creation. There was always that one tweak that needed adjustment.

Sigh.

Even GTA V is getting plastic surgery to edit your online character's appearance.

I remember play testing a pre-pre-alpha build a couple years back at EA. Crazy to see how far it has some (obviously) and how different it seems to play. I might have to pick this one up.

You can with the schematics. Craft one for your Knight Enchanter.

Wow that's an amazing OT. I'm still a little cautious On this game given Dragon Age 2 so I'm holding off until I hear straight from GAF and friends but it really does look to be an incredible game. I just promised myself that I would never allow myself to be hyped for another Bioware game until I know for sure it's gonna be absolutely fantastic.

Best part about the game... no queue times! Super excited, will probably end up spending Tuesday night just creating a character though... 3 hours should be enough to do that.

So how do I move my 360 story to PS4?
Through the keep? I dont really understand it. I know it doesn't move your save, but my DA:I game will still be influenced by the other 2 games?

Origin automatically verifies files before it finishes a download, right? I don't want to find out that something is messed up with my pre-load when I go to start the game tomorrow night...

If you have game preloaded then you also have file integrity verified and game installed on your PC so no worry there.

DAI doesnt do any form of save import. It imports decisions through the keep website. You need an Origin account. You choose the shit you did in the previous games through that

You do the tapestry choices and then hit export to DAI, when you start up a new game you'll be able to pick the world state you imported.

I'm going to be playing this game exclusively on insanity. It'll make me that much more desperate when crazy stuff starts happening in the plot, plus I've never stuck to that "i'll play it on normal first, then hard later" custom people apparently have.

Blazed through DA2 this weekend just for the story. I couldn't stand the combat however. I hope DA:I combat is nothing like it..

Yeah, this should be mandatory with games like this. And numbers on the sliders.

I liked the mage animations, but that was about it.

Once I figured out that all I needed was three people with area of affect attacks to spread out over the two (sometimes three) waves of enemies and a tank, the game got old really fast.

oh shit

Is there a gameplay breakdown of how the different classes play? I'd normally go for Rogue or Archer but all the archer gameplay I've seen has been incredibly boring, and the auto-attack for rogues seem like an incredibly boring series of stabs.

So looking forward to everyone finally playing this, after countless hours working on it. Not purely as a dev, but still <3

Oh wow congrats! :) I'm sure it's going to be up there with all my favorite games.~

Also Aaryn Flynn being a tease lol I'm glad the wait isn't like months away anymore though.

Man, the hair. I love the qunari I have seen, but I'm kind of pissed about the combinations available for hair. Like, I saw one hair style I really like (the only one I liked, actually) but I also wanted the decorated horns, and none of the decorated horns have that hairstyle. Life is so hard and no one on this planet suffers as I do.

In other news, I made my twitch channel look a little nicer. Never really used it before, so I added some basic stuff to make it presentable for DA:I.

Can you play this without playing the first 2. And I don't want to read a plot summary either as I do plan on playing the first 2 eventually.

yes, but you won't get anywhere near the same level of immersion and you'll be very confused when the game references past events.

that being said, it's not a very complex conflict in Inquisition and from the trial they do a good job of explaining what's going on right at the start.

The hype is motivating me to re-install Dragon Age origins to refresh my memory on the universe. :] The semi open world will be much more interesting from an exploration standpoint compared to the small area of origins which were full of invisible walls. This is probably as big of a gap as the difference between The original Witcher and what the Witcher 3 will be in terms of world building and potential exploration.

I mean... The story in DA is about the history if the world and the details thereof. You're going to play the first two eventually, but I imagine quite a bit of Inquisition will only be meaningful in context of what came before.

Like, I want to get into Game of Thrones, but I'm not going to start with the next season, you know?

DA noob question:
In the other threads, people were raving about the Archer gameplay and I love playing Ranger types, so I figured I'd play that class.

But... I guess it's not a class at all? Is Archer a subclass of Rogue or Warrior or something?

In Origins at least you picked a Rogue and then there were talents for bow stuff. Not 100% sure how it works in Inquisition, but I'd guess it'd be similar.

Archery is one of the base Rogue trees, along with dual daggers.

Pre-loaded and finishing Mass Effect 3 again as we speak to get prepared.

P.S.: The Main Theme is indeed awesome.

Man, been watching all the OP videos and Lady ashe's impressions vid.

Gah, can't play till tuesday night.

I've said it a billion times before but the environments look like such a step up from the previous games. Can't wait to get lost man.
Templar or Reaver? Hmmm...
Can't decide either. I'm rolling with Cass and I believe she's a...champion? So I wont be going with that I suppose.
