On a few occasions. But overall, no. And AtLA's highest highs are still too tall for even the very best of the Legend of Korra.

Dang. That's depressing. I kinda blanked out on this show in the first few episodes and thought, "eh, give it time and I'm sure it'll find its feet. I'll be back."

But it never got out of that hole, huh? Man...

Enter The Void and Venom of the Red Lotus are two of the best episodes in either series.

The only times this series has actually impressed as opposed to simply entertain. And I am one of the more positive fans :(

Uh Oh

Well shit. I wonder what that means.

They did finish the episodes right? Didn't run out of money or anything?

Kind of worried :\

The fight scene on the mountain in Enter the Void was definitely one of my favorite ones in the series. It's a close call with the Zaheer team fighting the metal clan in Zaofu when they had Korra.

That fight and standoff in Zaofu felt like one of the more organic and natural ones in the series

Nah they're fine on that front as both Mike and Bryan were just in Seoul last week finishing up work on the animation for the final episodes.
I'm guessing it might be related to Toph or something to do with shipping.
Or the episode is a dud which it hopefully isn't.

I think this is it. Things don't look good.

In happier news, I just rewatched S1E10 "Turning the Tides". That Lin popoff is an all franchise moment.

Time for Makorra to shine and yeah that was a great moment. Still don't quite understand how Tenzin and the kids got captured in the end though.
I remember having such a fangasm when Iroh jnr popped up in the next scene and I heard his voice.

The episode is probably going to alternate between Mako telling Wu some of their stories and flashbacks of Varrick, with some plot development in between, judging by that new shot of Korra in that promo. Oliver Sava is hinting that fans aren't going to like it because something sad or unhappy happens, not because of how bad the episode is.

It's definitely not getting canceled, come on. Bryan and Mike just came back from finishing animation in Seoul.

Oh, and didn't get a chance to comment of the last episode, "Reunion." Was better than I expected, although the reunion itself could've been better, I guess. I don't know, they greeted each other like casual friends, not like a team that has been through almost-armagedon together... But at the same time, it seemed normal to me?

Varrick and Bolin were great, so if "Remembrances" gives us a Varrick flashback and that's it, I'm happy. They've been doing great work with Varrick and Bolin so far.

EDIT: I'll confess I stayed out of KorraGAF on purpose... I was on vacation, and that included getting away from routine things, like bickering on this thread XD haha, sorry guys. I scanned some of the comments after "Reunion" aired and that's it.

It'll probably be an episode where nothing happens story-wise, because the show can afford an episode or 8 where diddly squat progresses.

Yup, pretty much how I feel.

Either that, or it's going to send the shippers into a frenzy. But since there are strong hints it's a recap episode, I'm guessing the former.

Ha you didn't really miss much just lots and lots of shipping talk about whether Korrasami has a chance now or if Bryke are just teasing the fans again. Then the usual argument about the type of content posted in here and so.
But yeah here's hoping we get that Varrick flashback they hyped up back at the SD Comic Con should be fun.

Oh fuck. Makorra is real.
If it does occur at least the meltdowns are going to be glorious.

So Kuvira beats toph? I'm ok with that.

Better than Makorra I suppose. That's if they even show Toph as they might spend the majority of the episode dealing with dem Mako flashbacks.

Mako would be cooler if he developed color powered

If they ever get a third series, a bad guy and a good guy like lava bending last time needs to figure out how jerry rig fire bending into vampirism and immortality, and while I forgot my explanation for it I'm pretty sure you can totally do that.

People claiming Makorra will happen. Others claiming Kuvira beats Toph. Others clamining nothing will happen and it's a waste.

My money is somehow all three things happen and the internet will explode. Also, Kuvira will literally kick a puppy onscreen.

That puppy probably had it coming.

I just realized something.

When Verick and Bo Lin crossed the border, they were caught because there were wanted posters of them.

But let me ask you this.

Why the FUCK would Kivira have wanted posters put up of two dead men? Bataar straight up told her they were dead right to her face!

Because she has a copy of that 'what not to do if you're a dark lord' list from the internet.

Actually I think that list specifically forbids gambling your entire plan on a one on one fight with the hero when you're about to win militarily, so she probably doesn't have that list even if it did work out for her.

Maybe she just knows Bataar is a level 3000 chumpmaster.

I had a think about this at the time, and I came to the conclusion that she was basically covering all her bases.

Kuvira's not an idiot; she knows Bolin is a talented earthbender and Varrick is a talented inventor, and that they could've escaped. If I were in her shoes, I'd have done the exact same thing.

I don't think the show needs to explicitly tell us every minute detail for us to fill in the gaps. This one is pretty obvious.

This, pretty much. Better safe than sorry.
