Look at those tears.

LOOK AT THEM!

Such raw masculinity.

;___;

A full out clip show? What the hell.:| Man I hope the last 5 episodes are going to be grand, cause I become really disappointed with this book.:/

I wonder what would the more entertaining reaction would be. Makorra and the rage accompanying it or Korrasami and the crow eating/shock that would accompany that.

To be fair, I know more about all the Stardust crusaders in 17 Episodes than I do about Asami in 40+ JoJo is really good at character personalities and inserting their likes and dislikes natrual so they feel more well rounded. When they say their friends I believe that shit unlike Korra's group.

In real life somebody would've torched Makos car. I said the said the same thing about the group in Yu Yu Hakusho before compared to the Krew in Korra. Yusuke's group felt like friends from the moment they were forced together in the 4 Saint Beasts arc. You could tell how they would get along from then on and it remained pretty consistent, though over the arcs Hiei began to respect Yusuke a lot more.

To be fair, past their introduction I still barely know any of the Krew, what their likes are. What they enjoy, how they react to things.

In The Last Airbender, due to the downtime we understand what characters enjoy and what they don't and why. In Korra they are just blank pieces of paper that drive the plot along.

If every single group in JoJo from Part 3-Part 6 all feel like family by the end of it, there is no reason why Korra's one single group can't fell like that.

Seriously, though, what happened to this show?

Is there any backstory as to why it's so.. I dunno.. not up to par? I mean, it's the sequel to an absurdly popular Nickelodeon series. Surely it couldn't've been the money?

The first season was supposed to be a 12 episode miniseries, then Nickelodeon wanted another 3, for some reason the writers convinced themselves they can writte Korra with the same style as Avatar but only half the screentime, a new villain every season, much more characters and a more "mature" plot. it has its great moments, but it didnt quite worked out.

Also note that Season 1 only had 2 of the creators as writers and only by Season 2 they had some of the writing team back from ATLA with exceptions of people like Aaron and etc.
I'm curious why they're so convinced they can make a full show with so few episodes when they constantly introducing new characters or give little leeway for the current roaster. From what I recall from interviews, the creator's main experience were from shows like King of the Hill and Family Guy. Arguably ATLA did not give them any experience whatsoever with streamlining a contained story either.

Edit: Most likely the reason for the recap episode is that they ran out of dat moneh. Gonna need confirmation from the Blu-Ray commentary or if this causes enough of a shitstorm for them to comment.

Guess they ran out of money for a full season and had to cut an episode.

*sigh*
Best scenario at this point I suppose is that they did this on purpose to save money for the finale but still eh a clip show in the final season of Korra.

From all the recent interviews with Mike and Bryan it seems they're been wanting to try out the miniseries format for quite some time. They even pitched ATLA to Nick as a 12 episodes series and it was Nick who forced them to do 20 episodes a season. Turns out they're not the best at writing their stories to fit in with the limited amount of time 13 episodes gives them.

Quote in question.
For LOK, Nick wanted to do more standalone-style arcs, and we were happy to do so. After spending so many years with ATLA building up to a showdown with a single villain, we liked the idea of tighter arcs and a new villain for each book. We had originally pitched ATLA to be 12 episodes for each book, but the network wanted 20. So when they wanted the LOK to have shorter books, we were happy. As for Amon, we are pleased with the length of that story arc. Miniseries are where it's at!

Just ditch Korra already. Legend of Varric and Bolin

I can live with that.

You'd think after 3 seasons of constant feedback they'd have learned what fans want from the show at even the most basic level of writing. Apparently not.
I just don't want the last shot with this universe to go down without a bang :(

They could've at least put it earlier in the season or something, not like before the climax is about to be introduced. Plus there's still
Jason Isaacs
character that needs to be introduced. Have fun getting backstory on that guy.

Mako would be cooler if he developed color powered

If they ever get a third series, a bad guy and a good guy like lava bending last time needs to figure out how jerry rig fire bending into vampirism and immortality, and while I forgot my explanation for it I'm pretty sure you can totally do that.

Fire was described to be a life force when Aang and Zuko visited the dragons.

They can bullshit it enough to work. :o

I think they wrote the whole thing in one sitting. Seems that way.

Heh not really expecting much from the new Jason Isaacs character. I'm guessing it'll be more of a cameo with his character possibly being the husband of Izumi and father of Iroh jr or something.

Given his track record I'm expecting him to be chasing after a magic boy again.

Clip show eh?

Whatever, at least I'll get some sleep tonight, not going to rush out and watch it.

Or maybe I will, what the heck. After this, there's only 5 episodes left, they better pull out all the stops (is that how that phrase goes?). And I waiting for
Jason Issac's
character and his interaction with
Huan
,
Jinora
, and
Suyin
.

Am I the only one who still thinks this will be a fun episode? Even though it sucks considering the season as a whole, i'm still excited to watch it.
